Chapter 254 Married in Our Youth, Our Love is Unwavering

Red gauze curtains hung low, creating a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere. Large "double happiness" characters were pasted on the surrounding walls, making it look especially festive. Two glasses of wine, four kinds of dried fruit, four kinds of tea snacks, and a pair of chopsticks wrapped in red cloth were already set on the table.

Jiang Ling's family had no servants, nor did they have any of those tedious follow-up matters.

Jiang Yaojie stood at the door, looking at the bride on the bed with a red veil covering her head, and his heart began to pound.

He took several deep breaths and stepped forward. Although it was only a few dozen meters away, he walked with extreme caution. When he finally reached the bedside, Jiang Yaojie sat awkwardly next to Shen Congxin.

It was clear that both of them were very nervous, their hands clenched into fists and gripping the hem of their clothes.

The atmosphere inside the room gradually changed from ambiguous to quiet, and even a slightly awkward feeling surrounded the two of them.

Jiang Yaojie gripped the chopsticks wrapped in red cloth in both hands, gazing at the woman he loved before him.

His hands trembled slightly as he mustered his courage to lift the veil from the bride's head and drape it over the edge of the bed. A delicate fragrance wafted towards his nose.

Her hair was styled in a high bun, revealing her temples; her eyebrows were lightly drawn, and her eyes held a spring-like charm. Her skin was smooth and lustrous like warm jade, and her cherry-red lips were naturally red and delicate. Two strands of hair on her cheeks gently brushed her face in the wind, adding to her alluring charm. The shy look in her eyes made her even more pitiful.

Jiang Yaojie swallowed hard, feeling as if a fire was burning in his lower abdomen.

In a daze, he remembered the thing Zhao Qianyu had given him before leaving. Looking at Zhao Qianyu's cunning eyes, he knew that the kid had no good intentions.

After reading only one page, Jiang Yaojie's face turned a frightening red, as those blood-pumping images kept flashing through his mind.

His hands trembled even more violently as he gently placed a wine glass in Shen Congxin's hand.

After the toast, Jiang Yaojie blew out the candles, plunging the room into darkness, but the warmth of their two passionate hearts illuminated the entire bed.

The next morning, three loud crowings of roosters woke up the sleeping Lujia Village.

Shen Congxin was also woken up by the rooster's crow. She was not used to sleeping in a new bed, so she couldn't sleep soundly in the new place. Moreover, she still felt shy thinking about what Jiang Yaojie had done to her last night.

The throbbing pain between her legs made her frown slightly. She was about to get up to find her clothes when she realized she was completely naked.

She shyly glanced at Jiang Yaojie while searching for her underwear.

Perhaps the movement was a bit too much, as Jiang Yaojie also woke up from his deep sleep.

He yawned widely, slowly opened his eyes, looked at the lovely girl beside him, reached out and affectionately stroked Chen Congxin's delicate nose, and said softly, "Why are you up so early!"

Although the two had already gone through the wedding ceremony and become a formal couple, Shen Congxin still shyly burrowed under the covers when she suddenly heard Jiang Yaojie's voice, and replied in a voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz, "No... nothing."

The more Jiang Yaojie looked at the lovely woman in front of him, the more he liked her. An indescribable feeling surged through his lower abdomen once again.

He quickly burrowed under the covers and hugged Shen Congxin. Soon, the seemingly calm atmosphere began to stir, and the ambiguous sounds were being suppressed by the speaker.

When Shen Congxin woke up again, it was almost noon. Jiang Yaojie was nowhere to be seen. Her clothes had been neatly folded and placed on the bedside table. Shen Congxin hurriedly dressed, washed up, and headed to the kitchen.

The new bride is expected to cook for the whole family for three days; this is a custom that originated from who-knows-when and where.

Even Shen Congxin, from a wealthy family, could not escape it.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, she saw Jiang Ling already preparing to wash the dishes, clearly indicating that Jiang Ling's family had already finished breakfast.

Shen Congxin looked at Jiang Ling with some trepidation and tentatively called out "Mother".

Jiang Ling was preoccupied with Jiang Suihe's studies and didn't notice anyone coming in until she heard someone call her.

"Oh dear, Congxin, why don't you rest a little longer? You're not used to living here yet!" Jiang Ling asked, looking at Shen Congxin who was standing at the door with a timid look in her eyes.

Shen Congxin shook her head. "I'm sorry, I woke up late. I'll have to make this meal..."

“Congxin, don’t worry, our family’s rules are…” Jiang Ling suddenly stopped, and she winked at Shen Congxin.

Shen Congxin had never experienced anything like this before, and she looked at Jiang Ling in a flustered manner, not knowing what to say for a moment.

Jiang Ling walked to Shen Congxin's side and said to him, "Our family's rule is... there are no rules!"

Hearing this, Shen Congxin's previously anxious heart settled back into her stomach. She breathed a sigh of relief and said to Jiang Ling, "Mother, then... what should I do?"

"Do whatever you do at home. If you need anything, just tell me and I'll get it for you. Are you hungry this morning? Come and try the pork liver porridge I made!" Jiang Ling said, handing the prepared food to Shen Congxin.

Shen Congxin felt a surge of emotion as he looked at the pork liver congee sprinkled with scallions and the golden-brown egg pancakes.

Seeing Shen Congxin's expression, Jiang Ling suddenly thought of something. She pointed to the door and said to Shen Congxin, "Congxin, go out to eat. Mother has something to ask you!"

Hearing Jiang Ling's words, Shen Congxin's heart, which had just calmed down, started pounding again. She began to try to recall if she had done anything wrong yesterday or upset Jiang Ling.

"Congxin, you should know about Linghui Academy, right?" Before long, Jiang Ling and Shen Congxin were already sitting at the table outside. Jiang Ling asked as she watched Shen Congxin drink the porridge spoonful by spoonful.

Shen Congxin put down her spoon, looked up, and asked in confusion, "Mother, why did you suddenly bring up this place?"

Seeing Shen Congxin's puzzled expression, Jiang Ling's heart sank. She frowned and began to recall Zhao Qianyu's words from last night.
