"Jiang, you are truly a lucky star for our country. Without you, we don't know how many people would have frozen to death during this harsh winter!" the Persian king said excitedly.
Jiang Ling nodded modestly and said, "Your Majesty, you are too kind! I am also very happy that your people are not suffering from the cold!"
In the blink of an eye, Jiang Ling had been in Persia for over a month. After she had completely taught Zhao Liuqing the cotton-fluffing technique, she and Jiang Ling began to discuss their return date.
When the Persian king heard that Jiang Ling was preparing to leave, he showed a face full of reluctance.
"Jiang, couldn't you stay a little longer? My people are reluctant to see you go!"
Seeing the Persian king's reluctant expression, Jiang Ling smiled helplessly. During the past six months away, she had truly missed her family and children terribly.
"No, King of Persia, I have been away for too long. I have four children, and they miss me very much!" Jiang Ling replied tactfully.
The Persian king nodded after hearing this. "Jiang, you are welcome to come down here. You can bring your four children with you. I believe they are also very outstanding, after all, they have a mother like you who is like a goddess!" the Persian king said.
Jiang Ling smiled and didn't say anything more.
On the day she left, Jiang Ling was woken up early in the morning by a noisy commotion outside.
She rubbed her eyes, got out of bed, walked to the bedside, and opened the window. The scene before her surprised her greatly.
Just as the sky began to lighten, many people from Persia spontaneously gathered outside the palace, each carrying numerous gifts, seemingly waiting for Jiang Ling and Zhao Liuqing to appear.
Seeing this, Jiang Ling quickly knocked on Zhao Liuqing's door. Zhao Liuqing was somewhat surprised to see Jiang Ling outside the door.
Jiang Ling pointed out the window and said, "There are quite a few people gathered outside the palace. Should we set off soon and not keep them waiting too long?"
Zhao Liuqing was even more surprised when he heard this. He quickly ran to the window and opened the door, where he saw the same scene as Jiang Ling.
Zhao Liuqing nodded. "Alright, let's set off as soon as possible! We've been away from the Great Hua Dynasty for too long!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ling felt inexplicably excited. Suppressing her excitement, she quickly returned to her room, packed her luggage, and prepared to depart.
About half an hour later, the Persian king appeared at the door of Jiang Ling's bedroom with all his family members.
"Jiang, Zhao, I hope you will understand the inconvenience caused by this hospitality!" the Persian king said in very broken Chinese.
Jiang Ling and Zhao Liuqing exchanged pleasantries with the Persian King again. The Persian King clapped his hands, and some servants came out carrying dozens of large boxes.
"These are gifts for His Majesty, and I hope he will like them!" With that, the Persian king had his men open the boxes.
The Persian king began to introduce the contents of the box one by one.
After the introduction, the Persian king clapped his hands again, and then dozens of exquisite little boxes appeared in front of Jiang Ling.
"Jiang, Zhao, this is a small token of my appreciation; I hope you will accept it!" With that, the Persian king ordered his men to open the box.
The first few boxes contained some exquisitely designed jewelry, but Jiang Ling's eyes lit up when she saw the later boxes.
"Jiang, I don't know how to thank you enough. These grape seeds, pomegranate seeds, cucumber seeds, pepper seeds, and so on are just a small token of my appreciation! I hope you like them!" said the Persian king.
Jiang Ling nodded repeatedly. Who knew that she could only secretly buy these things from the mall when she wanted to eat them? Now that she had the seeds, Jiang Ling could carefully cultivate and improve them when she got back, and then she could eat as much as she wanted.
"Thank you, King of Persia, I love your gift!" Jiang Ling said with a smile.
After exchanging pleasantries, the Persian king led Jiang Ling out of the palace, where they were immediately surrounded by a group of people.
These people were all holding things in their hands, trying desperately to stuff them into Jiang Ling and Zhao Liuqing's hands.
"Thank you! Thank you, Goddess Jiang! Because of you, we won't freeze!" A blonde, blue-eyed old woman with a child stuffed a bouquet of flowers into Jiang Ling's arms and gave her a warm hug.
"Thank you! Goddess Jiang..."
"Goddess Ginger..."
The words of blessing and the enthusiasm of the people overwhelmed Jiang Ling. By the time Jiang Ling and her group left the crowd, almost everyone's hands were stuffed with gifts.
Jiang Ling stood on the deck, watching the Persian people seeing her off gradually shrink, become blurry, disappear, until she could no longer see any of them. Only then did Jiang Ling return to the cabin.
Zhao Liuqing couldn't stop smiling as he looked at the cargo that filled almost the entire ship's hold. This trip to Persia was a great success.
"Lord Zhao, please don't bother me again if there are any more troubles like this, okay?" Jiang Ling said to Zhao Liuqing, whose mouth was practically stretched to his ears, with annoyance.
“Princess An, you’re wrong about that. If I hadn’t strongly recommended you to come to Persia with me, you wouldn’t have had such a chance to shine!” Zhao Liuqing teased with a smile.
Jiang Ling was too lazy to pay attention to this guy, so she rolled her eyes and went back to her bedroom.
After being away from her homeland for eight months, Jiang Ling missed her children terribly. The day before she left, she bought a lot of things to share with her family and the people of Lujia Village.
She gazed at each exquisite gift, her heart already yearning to return home.
Six months later, as the ship slowly approached the shore, a figure rushed towards Jiang Ling at lightning speed. Before Jiang Ling could react, she was embraced.
"Mother! Mother! I missed you so much! Mother! You're really back, aren't you?" Jiang Wenxi was a little out of control, hugging Jiang Ling and crying nonstop.
