Chapter 31 How about giving yourself to me?
Just when the two sides were in a stalemate and on the verge of a fight, the guy who was more trouble than help came with a knife in hand. He came with a fierce look, righteousness and heroism to fight for his parents' justice. He was the second son, Li Nanhai.
Without saying anything, he ran directly into the Yao family's cave, smashing and chopping everything he saw. By the time everyone reacted, the house was in a mess. The two elders of the Yao family had forgotten to cry and were stunned like outsiders.
Old man Li was also confused. He didn't know what his son had done. It was fine for him to raise a knife, but it was rude for him, Li Nanhai, to raise a knife and smash other people's things. This made his family's politeness become rudeness, and the active role became passive.
Before Old Man Li could get up and run, Yao Youbing rushed out with a hatchet in hand. Everyone then realized that the situation had become serious and that someone might be killed.
Seeing that someone was about to die, the village chief was extremely anxious, but neither the Li or Yao family listened to him.
"It's over, it's over, someone is going to die." The village chief sat on the ground with his head in his hands. He felt that the black hat on his head had flown away.
At this moment, a figure suddenly appeared on the roof of Yao's kiln. The man held a hunting rifle in his hand and pulled the trigger towards the sky. In an instant, the crowd seemed to be collectively acupunctured. The noise stopped and the fighting stopped. People looked in the direction of the sound and saw a flock of birds startled in the sky. Li Nanshan stood there, motionless, staring at the noisy crowd.
"Keep beating those who want to die, keep beating those who want to go to jail, beat them! Beat them! Kill as many as you can!" Li Nanshan shouted to the people below.
People looked at him, as if they had forgotten that they were just engaged in a life-and-death struggle. It seemed as if they couldn't remember why they were engaged in this life-and-death struggle.
"Li Nanshan, your mother fainted." A woman's voice suddenly came from behind the crowd.
Li Nanshan no longer cared whether they lived or died, and ran home from the roof.
At the same time, the Li family also hurried back.
With their opponents gone, the Yao family members also stopped fighting, took their weapons and went back to their homes, and the crowd soon dispersed.
Tao Xiaoxi leaned against the thick jujube tree, counting the footsteps of the crowd leaving. When she guessed that most of the people had left, she came out, patted the dirt off her hands, and walked leisurely towards home.
Now, the Li family owed her another favor.
When the Li family returned home, they found that no one had fainted. Mrs. Li was just too sad and had to rest in bed.
Li Nanshan rushed home and saw his sister-in-law picking vegetables in the yard. He was puzzled and asked, "Mom fainted, where is she?"
"Fainted? How could she faint? Mother is in the room. I just came out." The eldest sister-in-law replied.
Li Nanshan had no time to explain and went into the house. Sure enough, he saw his mother leaning on the bed crying alone, and his heart was instantly relieved.
After comforting his mother for a few words, Li Nanshan came out of the house, gave his sister-in-law a few more words of advice, and hurried out of the yard again.
Now that I think about it carefully, that voice sounded like someone was deliberately pinching their throat. Thinking about it again, it really was very familiar. It was an old friend.
Li Nanshan felt an indescribable excitement in his heart. He quickened his pace unconsciously and walked forward with a determined goal.
It was evening, and wisps of smoke were floating in the sky above Mantou Village, slowly spreading in the air of late spring and early summer.
Tao Xiaoxi held a bowl of noodles and sat on the stone mill in front of the door, sucking the noodles into her mouth. Then she picked up a bone in the bowl with her bare hands and slurped the soup in the bone. Although there was not much meat, Tao Xiaoxi sucked it with relish.
"Do you like eating bones?" Li Nanshan's voice came from above his head.
Tao Xiaoxi was startled at first, then the corner of her mouth twitched as she continued chewing on the bone, mumbling a confused, "Yeah, I like it."
"It's really strange. I've never seen someone who doesn't eat meat but likes to eat bones." Li Nanshan crossed his arms and looked at the woman in front of him.
Tao Xiaoxi sucked a bone clean, leaving it crisp and clear without a trace of fat or meat, and threw it away. "Did my sister-in-law tell you something? Your dog has given birth. Bring me one. I've already thought of a name for it: Wangcai."
Li Nanshan burst out laughing, "What a good name, I'll remember it."
"What are you laughing at? I'm serious. You should be serious too."
"Yes, I'm not kidding either. My dog is pregnant and will be brought to you soon."
"That's good. I'll wait." Tao Xiaoxi stood up, just glanced sideways at Li Nanshan, and prepared to go into the house.
"Did you do this on purpose?" Li Nanshan called out to her.
"What do you mean by intentional?" Tao Xiaoxi pretended to be confused.
"My mother didn't faint. You lied to me on purpose."
"I'm not lying to you, it's you guys who are in trouble. I really can't think of a better way to get out of this situation." Tao Xiaoxi said helplessly.
Li Nanshan pondered on the way here and figured out that Tao Xiaoxi's purpose in doing this was not for herself, nor was it an accidental act, nor was it a deliberate trick. She did this to resolve this great disaster.
"Look, I owe you more and more. How do you want me to pay you back?" Li Nanshan asked.
Tao Xiaoxi then turned around and met Li Nanshan's gaze head-on. "How about I pledge my love to you?"
Li Nanshan's eyes were anxious and he stood there in a daze.
"Don't worry, take your time to think about it."
Tao Xiaoxi took the bowl and slowly walked back to the house. This time, she didn't say she was teasing him.
