Chapter 38 Men are nothing
Perhaps God had mercy on Tao Xiaoxi, as the Li family's dog gave birth to three puppies at dawn the next day. One died, one was crushed to death by the mother dog, and one survived.
"Let's give this one to Xiaoxi." said the sister-in-law hurriedly.
"Nanshan, take the baby over to Beibei's mother." Old man Li said.
"Why should I give it to her? I want one too." The second sister-in-law said.
"What do you want this puppy for?" the sister-in-law asked.
The second sister-in-law was furious, "How can an outsider have it, but I can't?"
Old Man Li waved his hand and said to the second son, "One dog is enough for the family. This one will be given to Beibei's mother."
"Dad, my brother told me a long time ago that he wants a dog to guard the house. Can't he have one?" Yang Rongzhi said aggrievedly.
"Then let's wait until next time. We can still have another litter in the second half of the year."
"Why don't you let Tao Xiaoxi wait for the next litter? I am the mother of Damao and Ermao. Who is she?" Yang Rongzhi felt that her noble status was insulted and argued hysterically.
Li Nanshan simply wrapped the puppy in a rag and went out, not caring at all about his second sister-in-law howling behind him.

Tao Xiaoxi decided to cut off all contact with the Li family, including her sister-in-law Zhou Lan, so as to out of sight and out of mind.
Since her love life was blocked, she could only pursue her career. Tao Xiaoxi went to the county town twice this week and brought back rare medicinal herbs. Zhao Bin was so happy that he treated her as a guest of honor. He arranged meals and transportation for her, and provided her with pick-up and drop-off services.
