Li Nanshan was not the type to drag his feet. Since this woman was willing to continue to sink, there was no need for him to waste his kindness, so he did not stop.
Tao Xiaoxi got anxious and stood up and grabbed his hand, "Are you born in the Year of the Monkey? Why are you so impatient? Why don't you listen to my advice?"
Li Nanshan choked, as if he was being rude, and shook his hand but failed to get rid of it.
"If you promise to listen to me, I will let you go." Tao Xiaoxi threatened.
Only women and villains are difficult to raise, and Li Nanshan finally realized this.
"You say." I had to give in.
Tao Xiaoxi then let go of his hand and told Li Nanshan everything that was in her heart without reservation.
"Did you come up with this idea yourself?" Li Nanshan didn't believe it was her idea.
"Yes, what do you think?" Tao Xiaoxi asked him with her face raised.
"There is a risk." Li Nanshan said with a gloomy expression.
"Drinking water has risks, how can there be no risks? But I don't want to live the life of being controlled by others like before. Even if I can, I can't let Beibei live in fear anymore, so I need your help." Tao Xiaoxi looked at Li Nanshan so sincerely for the first time.
Li Nanshan was feeling a bit emotional at this point. This was exactly what he wanted to see. Even if he had no connection to Tao Xiaoxi, he still wanted to see women standing up for their rights. Even though he was a beneficiary of this bad practice in Mantou Village, he couldn't feel comfortable with it.
This is exactly what makes Li Nanshan the biggest difference from others. He has faith and principles, as well as a sense of justice that allows him to distinguish right from wrong.
"Speak up, will you help me?" Tao Xiaoxi looked at him eagerly.
Li Nanshan twitched his lips and asked, "You want a bicycle?"
"Um."
"Wait, I'll get it for you."
When Li Nanshan pushed the cart out, he had a women's jacket in his hand.
"It belongs to my sister Nanqiu. She's away at school and rarely comes back. Do you think it's okay to wear it?"
The flower in Tao Xiaoxi's heart blossomed on her face. She took it with great joy without even saying anything polite, saying, "It's wearable. I'll wash it and give it back to you when you come back."
Li Nanshan was a little embarrassed and didn't say anything.
"Remember what I told you." Tao Xiaoxi reminded.
"I won't forget, don't worry." Li Nanshan waved his hand, signaling her not to worry.
Tao Xiaoxi then went to ride the bike. He wanted to step on it, but he didn't expect that the 28-bar bike was a bit high and he couldn't step on it.
"Li Nanshan, please help me hold the car down." Tao Xiaoxi ordered without any hesitation.
Li Nanshan, who was originally planning to leave, turned back and held the car to let her get in. He always felt that this was a bit too intimate.
"Are you sure you can ride?" He was a little hesitant.
"Of course I'm sure. I've been able to ride since I was a child." Tao Xiaoxi blurted out.
Li Nanshan looked surprised, "I didn't expect your family to be so well off."
Tao Xiaoxi realized that he had walked into the wrong theater, smiled and evaded the question.
Beibei was still a little confused about how she got on the bicycle. In her memory, her mother didn't know how to ride a bicycle.
"Beibei, hold on tight, I'm going to speed up." Tao Xiaoxi said excitedly. When she thought of Li Nanshan's confident look in handing the car over to her, her strength in tearing the dog man Sun Wangcai apart increased three times.
The money that Grandma Sun gave her was not much, only enough to buy a pound of meat. Even so, Tao Xiaoxi also bought two big meat buns for Beibei. Of course, she did not treat herself badly. The mother and daughter each had one, and they held the buns and ate them with relish.
After eating the buns, the mother and daughter finally looked much better and their bodies became warmer.
Tao Xiaoxi found out that when she arrived at the meat processing plant, people were about to get off work and were doing the finishing work.
"Comrade, how much is the meat?"
"The meat is gone, but there are still a lot of bones. Do you want them? I'll give them to you at a discount." The chef stuck the knife into the chopping board and said in a rough voice.
This was exactly what Tao Xiaoxi wanted. She didn't have enough money to buy a pound of meat, but bones were cheap these days. Wouldn't it be more delicious to stew them in a pot with some tofu and pickled mustard greens?
"How much do these bones cost, Master?" Tao Xiaoxi spoke in a soft tone with a smile on his face, and was very polite.
The master was indeed very understanding. He waved his hand and said, "I'll give you one dollar."
Tao Xiaoxi looked troubled, "Can it be any less?"
"So how much did you say?"
"50 cents."
In the end, Tao Xiaoxi spent fifty cents to buy a bunch of large bones. There was actually quite a bit of meat still on the bones. If they were kept in the future, they would be no cheaper than pure pork belly.
When he was about to leave with the bones in his arms, Tao Xiaoxi's eyes were caught by the bundle of pig offal on the chopping board, and he hesitated for a long time before leaving.
"Why, you want this?" the master saw.
"I want to, but I have no money. My mother-in-law is seriously ill and all my money is spent on her medical treatment. If she hadn't been craving for some meat today, I wouldn't have come here." Tao Xiaoxi said with tears in her eyes.
The butcher was so moved that he waved his hand and said, "Don't say anything, take it away."
Afterwards, Beibei asked her what was wrong with her grandmother, as she was always full of energy.
Tao Xiaoxi hung the bones and pig offal on the bicycle, then carried Beibei onto the back seat and stepped on it. "Your grandmother is suffering from delusional illness."
When Granny Sun saw Tao Xiaoxi coming back with a pile of meatless bones and a bunch of pig offal, her face turned grim. "I gave you the money and you bought these?"
"Mom, don't be impatient. Wait until I'm done, and then you can tell me whether it's worth it or not."
"Youhua is coming soon, you'd better hurry up. If it's not worth it, Wangcai will not forgive you." Grandma Sun warned.
Tao Xiaoxi couldn't bear to hear the name of Sun Wangcai. She felt sick and went into the kitchen with the offal and bones.
