Chapter 148 Using a homework notebook as a cover

The next day, Jiang Yu got up very early and went with Shen Wan to catch the bus to the city. During the trip, Shen Ying repeatedly reminded her not to get her hands wet, not to let anyone touch them, and to let others do any heavy or tiring work.

Seeing Jiang Yu's perfunctory agreement, the man was puzzled, wondering why he was so concerned about her.

At Qingyun Garment Factory, Luo Zewen had been waiting at the gate since early morning, not even bothering to eat breakfast. Seeing Jiang Yu arrive from afar, he was incredibly excited and hurried to greet her.

Upon seeing this, Su Jinshi, who had just gotten out of the car, scoffed and walked towards the office building entrance without looking back, carrying her eye-catching bag.

"President Jiang, we've been waiting for you for so long, and we're so glad you've finally arrived."

Luo Zewen was in tears. Upon seeing Jiang Yu, he began to recount the requirements of the headmaster of the prestigious school, which were beyond the reach of ordinary people.

"Has Su Yujing not returned yet?"

Jiang Yu didn't respond to his question, but instead brought up another topic. Logically speaking, this person had been in the provincial capital for some time now, and even the most difficult project should have been finalized by now.

"No, I heard that Old Su is going to arrange some kind of business marriage for President Su. I guess he's busy having fun with his girlfriend outside right now."

Luo Zewen heard this from Su Jinshi; its veracity was uncertain, but it sounded plausible.

Jiang Yu didn't ask any further questions and walked towards the office building. The man followed behind her, recounting the client's requirements, which were almost identical to those in the letter.

The roads around the garment factory have been damaged by heavy traffic these past few days and are currently being repaired. So, to get to the office building, you have to pass through the workshop first, which inevitably involves contact with the sewing workers.

As soon as Jiang Yu stepped inside with her left foot, she saw a bright figure pinching her nose, frowning, and looking at the man opposite her with a look of disgust.

The man, dressed in work clothes from Qingyun Garment Factory, was holding a box of xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and was offering it to the woman in an ingratiating manner.

"Miss Su, these are steamed buns I bought after queuing all morning. They're from the best shop in the east of the city. Would you like to try them?"

Lu Yi looked at Su Jin with groveling deference, waiting for her favor. It was clear how much effort he had put into clinging to this woman.

Not only did he inquire about which breakfast shops were good, but he also made sure to comb his hair neatly so that you could even smell a men's cologne when you got close.

Seeing that Jiang Yu's attention was drawn to the two of them, Luo Zewen couldn't help but speak up:

"This kid doesn't do any work all day, he's always hanging around Miss Su. He's been delivering breakfast to her for a week straight, and there's never been a repeat. But you know Miss Su, although she's a bit arrogant, she's still from a wealthy family, and she doesn't care about these little favors at all."

"Just do your job; these things have nothing to do with us."

Jiang Yu stopped there and continued walking forward. General Manager Luo understood and continued to report on the plan he had drafted yesterday according to the other party's requirements.

"Their requests can be accepted, but the profit margin can be raised a bit more. After all, these are not ordinary school uniforms; both the style and the materials are top-notch."

As she approached the office door, she offered her opinion.

"It might be too late to change it now. Why don't we negotiate later and you speak in person?"

Principal Han of the elite school was known for her decisive and stubborn nature, never heeding others' requests. Luo Zewen knew that if he intervened, he wouldn't succeed and would likely face a scolding. Therefore, he felt it was more appropriate for Jiang Yu to handle this troublesome matter.

"Okay, what time should we meet this morning?"

Jiang Yu, unaware of the intricacies involved, assumed that, as Luo Zewen had said, there wasn't enough time, and inquired to see what preparations could be made.

The man raised his arm, glanced at his watch, and answered mechanically:

"We'll be there in about five minutes."

"So fast?"

Jiang Yu found it hard to believe. It was just a school uniform; was it really necessary to be in such a hurry?

"They're not being fast at all; they're practically begging to see if Qingyun can design satisfactory clothes so they can quickly find Boyi to collaborate with."

Luo Zewen couldn't help but complain that Su Yujing hadn't returned these past few days, and Jiang Yu wasn't around either. He was dealing with some difficult clients, which was giving him a real headache. Just as the two were talking, the secretary came to knock on the door and said that the vehicles from the elite school had already entered the clothing factory compound.

Jiang Yu instructed everyone to get ready and then turned to walk towards the conference room. Through the glass window, she saw Su Jinshi sitting in the innermost chair, legs crossed.

"This is not a place for you to play house."

Without further ado, she demanded that the other person leave. To her surprise, Su Jinshi responded with disdain:

"I don't have time to play house. I heard that Principal Han wasn't satisfied with yesterday's proposals, and since I studied fashion design in college, I came here specifically to help out for free. But you, without even asking what happened, scolded me. You really are a snob."

Su Jinshi rolled her eyes, pursed her lips, and thought to herself:

Who do you think you are?

Jiang Yu was about to say something when she suddenly heard voices coming from the corridor. She didn't have time to argue with Su Jinshi, so she gave him a few warnings and hurried out to greet him. Luo Zewen then introduced her.

Jiang Yu took the opportunity to glance at the woman in front of her. She looked to be around fifty years old, with curly hair, high heels, and a suit dress. She wore glasses, had small eyes, and her cheeks were somewhat sunken, giving her an air of displeasure.

"Are you General Manager Jiang?"

After hearing Luo Zewen's introduction, Principal Han looked at Jiang Yu in disbelief, feeling as if Qingyun Company had just randomly sent someone to fob them off.

"Hello, it's me."

Jiang Yu could see the meaningful meaning in her eyes, so she greeted her, showing her magnanimity.

"If you have any questions, come in and let's talk."

She gestured for the other person to enter the meeting room. Principal Han didn't say much, and after entering, he found a seat near the front, completely disregarding Jiang Yu.

"Xiao Wang, pour some tea."

Jiang Yu said nothing about her actions and calmly carried out the proper hospitality.

"No need to trouble yourself."

Principal Han spoke up to stop it:

"I'm just here to look at the drafts. If I can't design a satisfactory piece, I shouldn't waste my time."

In her view, none of the seemingly more experienced designers had produced anything that met her standards after a whole day. Their actions were nothing more than stalling for time.

"Can."

After speaking, Jiang Yu took out the drawings she had made yesterday from the folder in front of her and handed them over. Because of the tight schedule and the lack of convenient tools at home, she had only roughly drawn the sketches on the paper and had not done any detailed work.

At first, when Principal Han saw that what she had taken out was a kindergarten child's homework paper, he could hardly contain his emotions and almost got up to yell at her.

In her opinion, this young girl, despite her young age, was not at all timid in important matters. Apart from her somewhat immature appearance, she was flawless in every other way. Yet, she actually brought out a homework notebook to get by; it was truly disrespectful.
