Chapter 195 Forcibly Closing the Clothing Store

On the other end of the phone, Bai Ling's voice sounded soft, as if she had just woken up. After hearing her uncle's voice, she sighed softly, remained silent for a while, and then spoke:

"Uncle, I'm so sorry to have caused you so much trouble."

The effects of the drug hadn't completely worn off, and Bai Ling felt a little dizzy. The carpet beneath her feet felt like walking on cotton. She vaguely remembered what had happened that morning.

She thought she saw Shen Ying; he was still calling her. She was still groggy, unsure if she was dreaming. But this afternoon, when she left her room, she overheard her father on the phone talking about this very thing; she caught the gist of it.

So, only after regaining his senses did he hurriedly call Commander Bai to apologize. After all, this incident had also had a significant impact on him.

"What are you saying? You've been wronged. Your uncle is dealing with this matter right now."

Commander Bai's tone softened, a stark contrast to his earlier anger. Hearing Bai Ling's voice, the remaining three felt a glimmer of hope. If Miss Bai didn't care about this matter, then things shouldn't have come to the point of divorce.

"Comrade Shen Ying is innocent too, Uncle, please don't make things difficult for him."

As soon as Bai Ling finished speaking, Commander Bai heard rustling sounds on the other end of the phone. Worried that his brother would question him about how the matter had been handled, he hung up the phone without saying a word.

"See, I told you Cousin Bai Ling wouldn't pursue this, right? She knows Shen Ying did nothing wrong, and they are both innocent."

Bai Chen wanted him to come up with a different solution that would be acceptable to everyone.

"If Bai Ling doesn't pursue the matter, can this matter be over? How do we explain what happened this morning? Should we clear her name?"

Commander Bai wouldn't listen to Bai Chen's words at all. He pointed angrily at the man, feeling that no amount of coercion or bribery would work tonight, and he couldn't waste all his time on this.

"Comrade Shen Ying, please think about this matter again. Give me your answer in a couple of days."

Upon hearing this, Shen Ying opened her mouth, intending to say that her mind would never change. If he wanted to punish her, then so be it, but divorcing Jiang Yu was out of the question.

Commander Bai interrupted his statement, pointed to the people in the room, and walked out without looking back.

"Sir, let me see you off."

Commander Zhang was caught in the middle, feeling extremely awkward. Seeing Commander Bai about to leave, he breathed a sigh of relief. Regardless of what storms might rage ahead, at least today was peaceful.

"Instead of wasting this time, you should think about how to manage your soldiers."

......

The next day, Jiang Yu remembered that Li Xue had asked her to make a dress for Liu Cui's wedding, so she got up early to go to the Sui Sui Nian Nian clothing store to find some fabric. Shen Wan, bundled up tightly, wanted to go with her, but was stopped by a sharp-eyed woman.

Where are you going?

Jiang Yu placed her arm on the door frame and questioned with a smile.

"I...I just want to go out for a walk."

Seeing that her sister-in-law had discovered her, Shen Wan smiled, trying to hide her guilty conscience. Her words were simply unbelievable to the woman, and Jiang Yu called for her mother-in-law, stopping her sister-in-law.

"Sui Sui, grab your schoolbag and go to school."

In our family, whoever works at the clothing store usually drops the kids off on their way. After all, being self-employed means flexible hours, unlike working at Qingyun where you have to clock in on the hour.

Normally, Shen Wan would take her there, but later, when Shi Yangyang needed a bone marrow transplant, the family was too busy to manage, so they asked Zhang Cuihua from next door to take her there for a few days.

Now that everything that needed to be done was finished, Jiang Yu personally took her child to school. Along the way, Shen Suisui was exceptionally well-behaved. There were several classmates from the neighboring town on the bus; they all knew each other and couldn't help but chat.

"Sui Sui, I heard you got first place in the exam again. That's great! Try to play with Miao Miao more often and study together."

The speaker was a woman of similar age to Jiang Yu, who placed great importance on children's education. She knew that Shen Suisui was the best student in the class and was also exceptionally polite, making her a favorite among many children.

"Okay, Auntie."

Shen Suisui glanced obediently at Miaomiao, and the two exchanged a look and smiled secretly. The two had a good relationship to begin with, and neither cared who was praised by the adults, nor were they jealous.

Since starting work at Qingyun Garment Factory, Jiang Yu has been so busy that she rarely has time to check on her daughter's studies. Today, hearing a student's parent praise her daughter, she realized just how impressive her grades are.

She knew everything the teacher had taught, and even achieved first place in the midterm exam. This made Jiang Yu breathe a sigh of relief. Fortunately, she wasn't as harsh as the original owner of the body; otherwise, she wouldn't have fared well once Shen Suisui grew up.

"Mom, what are you thinking about?"

Noticing that Jiang Yu was thinking about something else, Shen Suisui asked out of curiosity.

"No, no. I'm thinking about whether or not to let Niannian go to school too."

She believes that children who start learning early will have a head start over those who don't go to school.

A short while later, they arrived at their destination. After dropping Shen Suisui off at school, Jiang Yu headed towards the department store. As soon as she reached the second floor, she saw a large crowd gathered at the store entrance. She assumed it was a new store opening nearby and didn't think much of it.

"Comrade Jiang Yu, you've finally arrived. The market administration officials came early this morning and said your store had safety hazards, so they forcibly shut it down."

The woman selling pots and pans nearby saw her and couldn't help but pull her out of the crowd, describing as much as she could about what had happened that morning.

Jiang Yu initially thought she was joking, explaining that her shop always followed proper procedures and how such an absurd thing could happen, as she walked towards the shop entrance.

When she noticed the seal on the glass of the Sui Sui Nian Nian clothing store, her mind went blank. Remembering her older sister's words, she rushed over to ask. Upon learning that the department store manager, Sister Lian, would be starting work in ten minutes, she disregarded the stares of others and hurried towards the management area.

She was determined to find out exactly what had happened.

Along the way, many people who had ordered clothes from her shop greeted her warmly, but Jiang Yu didn't have time to respond. She ran there as fast as she could.

Just then, Sister Lian entered the office area and saw Jiang Yu's figure from afar. Instinctively, she turned to leave.

Spending time with Jiang Yu over this period of time, I discovered that she wasn't at all what I had initially mistakenly thought. Over time, we became friends.

She received the news last night that the Sui Sui Nian Nian clothing store had been shut down. When she tried to inquire about the details, she was warned by her superiors.

This matter is not to be inquired about, and not to be discussed. It's an order from above; if they're not careful, they could lose their jobs.

Judging from her tone, this matter is quite serious. Sister Lian wanted to intervene but couldn't, and felt guilty towards Jiang Yu, so she wanted to stay away from here. She'll wait for someone in the know to explain things to her before facing the situation.
