Chapter 12 Attack on the Cave

Before long, the village chief banged a gong and announced that they were setting off.

The people of Linjia Village got up and continued on their way.

At Shenshi (3-5 PM), the village chief found a place with a water source and had the team stop there so that everyone could rest and spend the night.

This place is far from Xincheng and deep in the mountains and forests. As long as we are wary of large wild animals, it is better than being in a place where refugees gather.

As soon as they stopped, the villagers scattered to find food.

Only after persuading the two little ones to have barbecue for dinner did they reluctantly stay at the campsite with the old lady.

Lin Yinan carried a bow and arrows and walked towards the deserted deep forest.

I looked up at the sky; it was around four or five in the afternoon, and the sun hadn't set yet.

She passed through a thicket of bushes, a place with abundant vegetation and open space, a favorite haunt of wild boars.

Lin Yinan quickly discovered signs that wild boars had been there.

There were messy footprints on the ground, and a lot of excrement was scattered around.

Judging by appearance, it's definitely a wild boar.

Lin Yinan followed the tracks of the wild boar and arrived at a cave.

The cave was very large and pitch black inside, making it impossible to see anything. A cool breeze could be felt blowing out of it, suggesting that the cave connected to the other side of the mountain.

The wild boar's den might be at the other end of the cave, so she decided to go inside and check.

After storing the bow and arrows in his spatial storage, Lin Yinan carefully entered the cave, gripping the dagger.

The cave was very long. As you went deeper, the light inside became darker and darker until you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Only a single point of light remained at the cave entrance.

Having lived in the apocalypse for over a decade, Lin Yinan possessed an extraordinary ability to sense danger, and a sudden tightness gripped her heart for no apparent reason.

It seemed as if a pair of prey's eyes were watching him from the shadows inside the cave.

She was tense, gripping a dagger in her hand, listening intently to her surroundings, ready to strike at any moment.

Lin Yinan's keen senses had already detected the change in the airflow inside the cave.

Just as he was about to swing the dagger, a sudden pain shot through the back of his neck.

Damn, she was ambushed.

Then everything went black and she fell into a coma. Before that, Lin Yinan wondered if she had been walking in the dark too much and had finally encountered a ghost.

Lin Yinan had a very long dream.

In my dream, modern zombies miraculously tracked me down to this era.

She rode wildly on her Akhal-Teke horse, and fearing she would be thrown off, she crouched down and clung tightly to the horse. She was jolted so hard that her thighs ached, but she dared not stop.

In the vast wilderness, she and her horse depended on each other for survival.

I don't know how long we ran, but the horse's rapid breathing kept ringing in my ears.

The exhausted horse finally stopped and lay down on the soft grass. She was so tired that she could barely lift her fingers, and her eyelids were so heavy that she wished she could fall asleep immediately.

No, wait! She's here to hunt wild boars.

Suddenly, Lin Yinan snapped awake.

My body felt like it was broken apart, and my whole body was screaming in pain.

Lin Yinan only thought for ten seconds before slowly sitting up. This movement made her body ache even more, especially her thighs, which were throbbing with pain.

It was pitch black all around; she was still in the cave where she had lost consciousness before.

Does the pain in her body mean she's been sexually assaulted?

I listened carefully, but there was no sound around me. Clearly, the perpetrator had already left.

She took out a flashlight from her storage space and found the clothes that were crumpled and bruised.

He shook out his clothes, revealing a large wet patch on his chest, and a foul, bloody smell wafted out.

Lin Yinan threw the clothes into her spatial storage, and then took out a clean set of clothes and a mirror from it.

Looking in the mirror, I could see red marks all over my body from my neck down, some of which had turned blue and purple, with the chest area being the most severely affected.

Lin Yinan couldn't help but swear and grit her teeth.

If she finds that, she'll definitely cut up his murder weapon and feed it to wild dogs, and then tear him to pieces!

She put the mirror away, then put on a high-necked shirt to cover the marks on her neck.

The space contained many simple long-sleeved black shirts and pants like these, which she made herself in her spare time during the apocalypse.

She struggled to her feet and saw a jade pendant with a lustrous sheen in the crevice of the stone where she had just been lying.

Lin Yinan picked it up and examined it closely. The jade pendant was about half the size of her palm, with delicate carvings of auspicious clouds and a tiger's head in the center.

She didn't know much about jade, but judging from the quality of the jade pendant, it seemed to be something that person had overlooked.

Lin Yinan narrowed her eyes, and the next moment she threw the jade pendant into her spatial storage.

Chastity cannot be eaten. In the end times, there are many people who exchange their bodies for food, let alone now that the barbarians directly eat people.

In modern times, she had someone she liked, and naturally, she had done intimate things with her lover. However, that person died on a mission, and she never met anyone she liked again.

Lin Yinan wasn't sad. What could she do now that things had come to this? She was just a little annoyed that she had been bullied without being able to fight back.

He picked up the dagger that had been thrown aside and left the cave without looking back.

It was getting late, and if they didn't go back soon, Li Shulan and the old lady would worry.

While passing through the bushes where wild boar tracks had been found, we were surprised to spot two large wild boars with four piglets, grunting and scratching at the tree roots.

Lin Yinan was suddenly enraged. It was all because of this damned beast that she had been caught off guard and ended up in this mess.

She drew her bow and arrow, aiming for a fatal shot, and nocked a modern, specially made arrowhead. Fueled by her rage, she fired the arrow at the wild boar.

Dozens of arrows flew swiftly toward the wild boar, each one hitting a vital spot.

One of the wild boars was particularly tenacious; even after being riddled with arrows, it ran a long way before finally collapsing.

Lin Yinan threw a large wild boar and four small wild boars into his spatial storage, then picked up another wild boar and returned to the camp.
