Injured? Could it be that the Japanese pirates have returned?
"Besides the Japanese pirates and hermits, only they could have injured Yun Mo," Lin Yinan thought as he walked.
Back in the backyard of the county government office, Yun Mo had already been led into the house.
Upon entering the house, a strong medicinal smell filled the air. Yunmu and Yunye were both inside.
Yun Mo lay on the low couch, his face pale and haggard, looking very weak.
Upon entering the room, Yunye offered her his seat, looking at her with a guilty expression.
Lin Yinan's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly asked, "How are you? Are you badly injured?"
Mica, clutching her handkerchief, turned her head away, letting her see for herself.
"I'm fine, don't worry."
Yun Mo gazed intently at her, his eyes filled with an intense, unyielding affection, and pulled her hand to sit on the low couch.
Seeing that his shirt was loosely draped over his shoulders without being tied, and looking through the collar, one could see that his abdomen was wrapped in gauze.
"Let me see where you're injured?"
As Lin Yinan spoke, she reached out to remove the gauze bandage from his wound.
The gauze was unwrapped layer by layer, revealing a horizontal cut across the entire abdomen. The injury must have been quite severe at the time. The stitches had been removed, and the scabbed wound resembled a large centipede coiled around the waist.
She looked much better. Lin Yinan wrapped the gauze back on thinly. She wanted to take off the gauze on her leg to check, but Yun Mo covered her with his hand.
"It's all better now." Afraid that he might not be able to control his reaction and make his mother and second brother laugh at him, Yun Mo quickly reassured them.
"What happened?" she asked.
Judging from the way his wounds are healing, he must have been injured shortly after arriving in Xihe County.
Yun Mo said, "We encountered the hermits sent by the Japanese pirates to gather information as soon as we arrived in Xihe County. We captured two of them alive and found the manager who used to speak Japanese at the mine. Under interrogation, we learned that the previous batch of hermits had not returned for a long time and there was no news of them, so they sent people to gather information."
"You've taken them all?"
Yun Mo nodded, "Kill all those who have been interrogated. The hermits we sent out have disappeared one after another. I'm afraid the Japanese pirates will send more people. This is a never-ending source of trouble."
"Is it just Yun Yi and Yun Er guarding that place with their men right now?" Lin Yinan asked.
Yun Mo glanced at Yun Ye, who cleared his throat and said, "Third sister-in-law, I just discussed it with my third brother. Tomorrow I will take some more people to Xihe."
"As long as they come, we will take their boats, and try our best not to damage them."
"My wife is so smart. My second brother and I were just planning this. Making a small boat isn't difficult, but making a large ship that can sail the seas is not easy at all," Yun Mo quickly praised his wife.
Yunmu, who had been silent all along, rolled her eyes, not wanting to listen anymore, and hurriedly went into the inner room to check on her granddaughter sleeping in bed.
The three discussed further matters concerning the attack and defense of Xihe County.
Thinking of the dozens of cartloads of pig iron that had already been put into the warehouse, Yunye looked at the two of them.
“My third brother brought back a lot of pig iron this time, and he wants to forge some weapons. I want to make a batch of knives and guns.”
"I still have quite a few swords and knives in my collection. I'll check how many I'm still short and set aside some iron so I can forge some crossbow bolts," Lin Yinan said, revealing his thoughts.
Swords and knives are essential for close combat, but crossbows and arrows, which are suitable for ranged attacks, are even more indispensable.
The Yun brothers remained silent. They knew the value of crossbows, but they were not something that just anyone could make.
After pondering for a while, Yun Mo said, "The blueprints for the crossbow arrows are in the Ministry of Works. It will be quite difficult to retrieve them."
“I have the blueprints,” Lin Yinan said.
The two brothers' eyes lit up immediately, their faces filled with undisguised joy.
“With the blueprints, things will be much easier,” Yunye said.
Lin Yinan asked, "Who can do it?"
Yun Mo said with a smile, "Yun Erhui, it's definitely the right choice to leave it to him."
"When I get to Xihe, I'll have him come back," Yunye nodded and said.
The group chatted about some trivial matters at Longtan until the baby in the inner room started crying for milk, at which point Yunye and Yunmu finally came out of the room.
Lin Yinan carried the child into the inner room, wrung out a handkerchief to wipe him clean, and sat on the edge of the bed to start feeding the child.
I couldn't see anything, but as I listened to the child's urgent swallowing, images flashed through my mind.
Yun Mo's gaze pierced through the gaps in the screen, reaching into the inner room; his burning gaze almost melted the screen.
Lin Yinan couldn't hear any sounds outside and assumed he was asleep from exhaustion. After the child finished eating, she carefully patted her back to help her burp.
As I walked out with my child in my arms, I looked up and met his intense gaze, and my heart skipped a beat.
With an unchanged expression, Lin Yinan calmly pulled up a chair and sat opposite him. Because they were so close, the baby's eyes were fixed on him.
Yun Mo looked at her, his cold and stern aura softened, his expression became gentle, and a smile unconsciously appeared on his lips.
"You look much older. Your eyes are like yours, and your nose and mouth are like yours too," Yun Mo said gently.
He tilted his head and examined her closely. "Her features are just like yours."
The baby thought he was playing with him, so he grinned and started laughing, waving his arms and legs.
Yun Mo thought she was so cute, so he started teasing her. Every time, the baby would grin and laugh heartily.
It wasn't until the baby vomited a mouthful of milk that Yun Mo panicked. "A Nan, quickly, look what's wrong with her?"
"It's nothing, she's just laughing too hard after eating, don't tease her."
Upon hearing this, Yun Mo looked like a child who had done something wrong. Seeing that the baby was still waiting for him to make a face, he said pitifully, "You're going to spit up milk, so Daddy's not playing with you anymore."
Lin Yinan calmly picked up a handkerchief to wipe her down. She grumbled twice in dissatisfaction, then leaned against her and fell into a deep sleep.
It was too hot, so Lin Yinan changed his position and wiped her sweat.
Yun Mo thoughtfully picked up a palm-leaf fan and gently fanned the mother and daughter, then turned his gaze back to Lin Yinan, "Isn't the wind too strong?"
"fine."
Lin Yinan felt a little uncomfortable under his intense gaze. Just as she was about to speak to break the awkward silence...
But then Yun Mo said, "A Nan, I miss you!"
A blush rose to her cheeks. Lin Yinan was no innocent or naive person; she understood the meaning behind his words perfectly.
She turned slightly to the side to prevent the wind from blowing directly on the baby's sweaty head.
"You scoundrel! The moment we meet after being apart, all you think about is having sex," she changed the subject, "Have you decided on a name for the baby yet?"
Yun Mo thought about it seriously and said, "The baby was born on the 19th, so how about we name him Yun Nineteen?"
Lin Yinan turned her head in surprise to look at his serious expression, and then thought about the names of his subordinates from one to seven. She realized that she shouldn't count on him for this.
"Isn't it good?" Seeing that she didn't speak, Yun Mo asked cautiously.
He thought it was great; it was simple and easy to remember.
Lin Yinan hesitated for a moment, then finally said softly, "Her full name is Fangting, and her nickname is Nineteen. What do you think?"
"Great! My eldest brother's daughter is named Fangyi, and ours is named Fangting. My wife is so clever, how come I didn't think of that?"
If Lin Yinan hadn't stopped him with a look, he would have clapped and cheered.
"Mother! Grandmother said my father is back, but where is he?"
Lin Zhiyan came home from school; her voice reached her even before she arrived.
