"Nineteen, be good, don't move around, or you'll fall." Lin Yinan warned, holding her even tighter.
Yun Mo's large hands encircled the mother and daughter, holding the reins. His heart was filled with happiness, and his smile was radiant, his mouth almost reaching his ears.
"I'll ride slower."
The two were close together; his burning body temperature emanated through the thick clothes, and he had a faint odor. His breath was blowing behind my ear.
Hearing the sound of horses' hooves beneath her feet and Yun Mo's heavy breathing, Lin Yinan broke the tense atmosphere by speaking.
"Was the mission successful? What is the casualty situation?"
"Yun Er and several others were seriously injured, and more than a dozen people were slightly injured."
Yun Mo's voice came from behind him, his chest pressed against his back, and he could clearly feel the vibration.
Lin Yinan was slightly taken aback. "Yun Er is injured?"
"Yes, it was quite chaotic at the time. Several leaders in the bandit den were highly skilled in martial arts. I almost fell into their trap when I wasn't careful. Fortunately, Yun Er appeared in time and took that blow for me."
Is it serious?
Yun Mo said, "I was stabbed in the back. Fortunately, I was wearing thick clothes, so the cut wasn't deep, but it was a bit long. It's all superficial wounds, and there's no danger to my life."
The family of three returned to the county government office, where the injured Yun Er and the soldiers had already been taken away for treatment.
Inside the main hall of the county government office were dozens of large wooden boxes with open lids, filled with all sorts of gold and silver jewelry.
Lin Yiheng and Pan Qingfeng took the ledgers and led people to count and record every item in them.
Knowing that Lin Yinan had something to do, Yunmu came over and took Yun Shijiu back to feed her rice cereal.
Yun Shijiu held onto Yun Mo's hand tightly and refused to let go. Helpless, Yun Mo had no choice but to take her back with Yun's mother.
It took them most of the day to finish counting the gold and silver jewelry in the box.
After counting the silver, Lin Yinan summoned his guards to carry all the silver into the treasury.
Lin Yinan was pleased that another large sum of silver had entered Longtan's account. Their biggest source of income now was salt, and the salt they sent to Chen Xianming was all paid for in cash.
After calculating the time, she realized that the first batch of goods delivered to Cangwu County would arrive soon, bringing in another sum of money. She thought it was time to distribute rewards to the management, guards, and soldiers of Longtan.
Overall, this year's work was not in vain, and I have gradually begun to accumulate wealth.
Upon leaving the county government office, Lin Yinan discovered that the sky was already full of stars.
Back in the courtyard, Yun Mo and Yun Shijiu were not there, so Qianxia brought her some food.
"What about nineteen?"
Qianxia said, "In the old lady's room, she said that Miss Nineteen should sleep with her tonight."
After Qianxia finished speaking, she looked at her somewhat embarrassedly.
Lin Yinan naturally knew what "Yumu" meant. "I know. Where did the son-in-law go?"
"The son-in-law has gone to see the wounded."
After eating and washing up, Lin Yinan turned on the oil lamp and sat down at the table to read.
She yawned countless times, so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open, before Yun Mo finally returned.
"Go to sleep if you're tired, don't wait for me," Yun Mo said with concern.
Lin Yinan closed the book, stood up, and seeing that he hadn't washed up yet, said, "It's okay, there's hot water in the kitchen. Go get some water first, and I'll help you find some clothes."
Yun Mo handed her a small bundle tied to his shoulder.
Lin Yinan raised her eyebrows slightly, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes, "What is this?"
The candlelight flickered on her face, making it appear somewhat hazy. Yun Mo's gaze was deeply drawn to her, and his face softened.
He said softly, "It's for you."
With that, he turned and went to the kitchen.
Lin Yinan curiously opened the bundle, which was full of glittering gold and silver jewelry, including exquisitely crafted hairpins and hair ornaments, gold and pearl earrings, pure gold bracelets, and so on.
Lin Yinan picked up each item and placed it on the table to examine it closely. She couldn't help but sigh, "Never doubt the aesthetic sense of the ancients."
For a moment, she was stunned.
"Do you like it?" Yun Mo quietly walked in carrying two buckets of water.
"Thank you, I really like it!" Lin Yinan nodded; she appreciated his gesture.
She quickly put the jewelry that was on the table back into her bundle. Yun Mo put down the bucket and came over to stop her, "Why are you putting it away? You want to wear it!"
"It's too flashy, and it's not appropriate to wear it at this time." Lin Yinan's cool voice carried a gentle tone.
Yun Mo took out an exquisite hairpin from his bundle and inserted it into her hair. "Wear this."
Lin Yinan reached out to touch it, but Yun Mo, afraid she would pull it away, quickly grabbed her hand.
"Don't take it off, it looks good on you." He gazed at her intently, his eyes slightly shifting.
Upon being praised for the first time, Lin Yinan's usually thick-skinned face flushed slightly, and her heart skipped a beat.
To hide her unease, Lin Yinan put the bundle into her spatial storage right in front of him.
"I'll go get you some clothes."
Yun Mo watched her retreating figure with a smile, then picked up two buckets of water and went into the inner room. He was too dirty to have enough water, so he went out and brought in two more buckets.
Seeing him undress, Lin Yinan quickly put down her clothes and was about to leave the inner room.
"Anan, help me wash my hair." He gazed at her intently, his voice deep.
Lin Yinan stopped in her tracks, thinking that since she had already given birth, there was no need to be coy, so she turned around and walked towards Yun Mo.
"bring it on."
By the dim candlelight, Lin Yinan was attracted by his well-defined muscles, his eight-pack abs, his alluring V-line, and a certain part of him was starting to swell up under her gaze.
Yun Mo thought she would refuse, but he was taken aback by her open and frank manner. He stood there for a moment, clutching the cloth, feeling at a loss.
His gaze fell upon her teasing expression, and he felt a pang of regret for having shot himself in the foot.
