Chapter 304 Considerations

It was dark and the night was cool. Lin Yinan originally wanted to carry Yun Shijiu back, but the little one kept babbling and refused to leave.

The couple had no choice but to sit in the yard and keep her company.

Yun Shijiu handed the wooden carvings in his hand to Lin Yinan, who then placed them one by one on the stone table.

"What do you want this family to do?" Yun Mo asked Lin Yinan, looking at the wooden carving standing on the stone table.

"I want to print books by such skilled craftsmen."

"Printed books?"

"Yes, I want them to help with the carving."

They traveled from the Central Plains to the South, and apart from some books brought by Su Kunliang, the rest of them didn't even have extra clothes to change into.

Even if they settle down here, over time civilization will gradually drift away from them, and a cultural break will occur.

Lin Yinan has a lot of books stored in her space. She has always wanted to print more books, but the paper is controlled by a few aristocratic families and is very expensive, which is beyond her means.

Now that Su Yunzhi has solved this problem for her, and there are skilled carvers available, she can print books in large quantities.

"Printing not only increases the chances of books being preserved, but also allows knowledge to be disseminated to more people and facilitates in-depth cultural exchanges."

Looking down at her daughter in her arms, Lin Yinan continued, "I want to promote universal education among the people of the South. Even if it's not for the sake of the imperial examinations, everyone should be able to afford books so that they can read, understand principles, and knowledge should not be held by only a few."

Yun Mo's expression froze instantly; he was completely stunned by her words.

A brief silence fell between them.

Yun Shijiu's lips curled slightly as he stared wide-eyed at each wooden carving on the stone table, his eyes filled with curiosity and surprise. Drooling unconsciously dripped from the corner of his mouth, forming a long, thin strand.

She reached out her chubby little hand and pushed the wooden carving in front of her over, making babbling noises.

Yun Mo silently straightened the overturned wooden carving. Yun Shijiu looked at him, then turned to look at Lin Yinan, as if he had discovered a new continent. He reached out and pushed all the wooden carvings on the table over, then burst into giggles.

"You little rascal!" Lin Yinan poked her forehead with his hand in annoyance.

She hadn't considered these things before, but with the birth of Yun Shijiu, more and more people followed them, and their business expanded, forcing her to face the impending difficulties.

Yun Mo gazed at her with deep affection, his eyes overflowing with love and tenderness, as if all the stars were gathered in his gaze.

"Anan, your heart is as vast as the ocean!"

As he spoke, he leaned over, embraced the mother and daughter, and lowered his head to kiss the top of her head. "How lucky I am to have met you."

Holding his two beloved people in his arms, Yun Mo's heart softened into a vast ocean.

Unfortunately, this atmosphere was broken by Yun Shijiu's squeaking.

Uncomfortably constricted, Yun Shijiu cried out in single-syllable "hit hit hit" while repeatedly slapping Yun Mo's hand.

Seeing his daughter bullying him and leaving him looking defeated, Lin Yinan smiled.

A gust of wind blew by, and the air became slightly damp.

Lin Yinan felt a slight coolness on her face and instinctively reached out to wipe it.

It's raining.

"Nineteen, it's raining, let's go back to sleep."

Lin Yinan looked down at the little one in her arms and saw that she was starting to feel sleepy, constantly rubbing her nose and eyes with her hands.

As soon as the two stepped onto the veranda, they saw Yunmu coming looking for them.

"I said I was going to sleep, why haven't you two come back yet?" Yunmu said reproachfully.

Yun Shijiu opened her hazy eyes and, upon seeing Yun Mu, proactively opened her arms, wanting her to hug her.

Since being weaned, she has refused to sleep with Lin Yinan anymore.

Yunmu took Yun Shijiu from her, glancing intentionally or unintentionally at Lin Yinan's belly, and smiled as she hinted at Yun Mo.

"It's late, you should all go back and rest early!"

Lin Yinan pretended not to know and instructed her, "Mother, go back and wipe Nineteen's hands."

"Okay, I got it."

Yunmu, holding Yun Shijiu, hummed a little tune as they walked away.

In just a moment, large raindrops began to patter against the eaves.

When Lin Yinan came out after washing up, she saw Yun Mo leaning against the bed wearing only an undergarment, his slightly open collar revealing his strong and powerful chest, and he was looking at the information she had compiled over the past few days.

Seeing her come out, he quickly put down the booklet in his hand, moved over a little, lifted a corner of the quilt, and patted it lightly.

"Come on up, the bed's all warm."

Lin Yinan lay down, and Yun Mo leaned over, covered her with the blanket, and gently embraced her. He quickly and skillfully undressed her, his hands exploring her body under the covers.

His breathing became erratic, and a passionate kiss landed, tinged with an almost uncontrollable fervor.

Lin Yinan's gaze met his deep eyes, which were filled with longing and wildness. Reason began to return, and she flipped her palm over, revealing a small umbrella in her hand.

Is your mother pressuring us to have a second child?

Her clear, cool voice was like a breeze rustling willow branches. Yun Mo raised his eyes and gazed at her, reaching out to brush away the stray hairs from her forehead.

“You’re not even 19 yet, and you’re so busy right now. Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet, so let’s not have children for the next two or three years.”

Lin Yinan poked him with her small umbrella, "Then take this with you."

What is it?

"Something that looks like sheep intestines."

"Need not."

"That's not safe either, this is more secure."

How do I use it?

"I'll teach you, hmm..."

Their bodies pressed together, as if every inch of their skin was calling out to each other, yearning for each other's touch. His breath made her hair flutter, and their lips explored each other with endless longing and anticipation.

Outside, raindrops, like beads from a broken string, pelted the roof tiles with a crackling sound, blurring the entire world and obscuring the springtime beauty within the house.

The next day, the rain stopped and the sky cleared.

Sunlight filtered through the clouds, scattering across the green leaves still adorned with glistening water droplets, creating shimmering patterns. The air was filled with the fresh scent of earth and grass.

When Lin Yinan brought Qianwu to the county government council hall, Liang Wen and his aunt's family were already waiting there, with two young men following behind, each carrying a small wooden box.

Upon seeing her arrive, everyone quickly bowed to her.

After exchanging pleasantries, Lin Zhunan took out the wooden doll from yesterday and asked directly, "Who carved this?"

Aunt Liang looked at her eldest son with trepidation.

Liao Changyi's heart was pounding uncontrollably, and he stepped forward somewhat uneasily.

"I, I carved it."

"Who taught you your carving skills?" Seeing his nervousness, Lin Yinan softened her tone considerably.

Seeing that she didn't seem to blame him, Liao Changyi mustered his courage and said, "I learned carpentry from my father, and I learned to carve these little things from my uncle in my spare time."

Lin Yinan casually picked up a copy of the Thousand Character Classic from the table, opened it, pointed to the characters, and asked him, "Can you carve these characters?"

Liao Changyi took the book and carefully examined the words on it.

Aunt Liang and her husband looked at their son with some worry, but their eyes were filled with hope.
