Chapter 33 Encounter by the Lake

"Besides a small stream near the cave, there's also a lake a little further away," the guard reported truthfully.

Lin Shuo said, "Okay, go tell your master that we are willing to go together."

Li Shulan told Lin Yinan that they were only able to avoid getting separated because they were protected by the Yun family's guards when they ran away.

Just then, large drops of rain suddenly fell from the sky.

"Oh dear, it's raining!" Zhang exclaimed.

Lin Shuo and Lin Yizhang hurriedly went to find an oilcloth to cover the grain bags.

Lin Yinan pretended to rummage through the horse that had been brought back, but in reality, she secretly took the large piece of oilcloth that Zhang had thrown away from her spatial storage.

"Grandma, take this and use it as a shield."

"Anan, you've retrieved the oilcloth!"

Zhang was overjoyed and immediately recognized the piece of oilcloth as the one she hadn't had time to collect.

Just as everything was covered, a torrential downpour began.

Lin Yinan ripped off the oilcloth that Li Shulan had draped over her, exposing herself to the rain.

"Anan, be careful not to catch a cold." Li Shulan glanced at her worriedly.

"It's nothing, I'm just very dirty, I'll let the rain wash me off."

The heavy rain poured down from above, quickly washing away the dirt on Lin Yinan's face. Blood mixed with the rainwater stained the muddy ground she had walked on.

As the bloodstains on her body were washed away, she felt much lighter.

The group walked through the rainforest, and their footprints were quickly washed away by the rain.

In less than half an hour, they arrived at the cave guarded by the Lin family.

And just then, the heavy rain stopped.

The cave was really big. Everyone took the things off the backs of the livestock and put them into the cave one by one.

Before they arrived, the Yun family guards had already cleaned the cave, but there was still a lingering smell of smoke inside.

Each family cleared a space side by side in the cave. They used the firewood that the Yun family guards had collected to start a fire to ward off the cold. Once the ground dried, they could use it to rest.

After cleaning up the cave, Lin Shuo prepared to take out the dead horse.

Grandma Zhao asked Lin Yinan, "Yinan, there's so much horse meat, our family can't finish it all. It's not cold yet, so it's not easy to store. Do you think you could share some with Lin Tiezhu and your fiancé's family?"

Lin Yinan caught a glimpse of Lin Tiezhuang and his son Su Kunliang, as well as Liu Yu, who had come along, also holding a knife and helping out.

The Yun family guards were also killing the two wounded horses that Yun Mo had brought back.

“Let’s give each family a horse leg. After all, Zhong Yu did the work, so let’s give some to the siblings as well.”

"Okay, Grandma understands. Go change your clothes quickly, don't catch a cold."

Seeing that her clothes were still dripping wet, Grandma Zhao gave her another instruction.

Li Shulan walked over with a set of light blue clothes in her hand. "Anan, this is what you used to wear when you practiced martial arts. Your mother and I went to change out of your wet clothes."

The color of the clothes wasn't suitable for wearing in the mountains and forests; they would get dirty easily from being scratched by tree branches.

"Mother, I have some clothes. Let's put this one back first."

Lin Yinan took the bundle containing her clothes off the horse and pulled out a set of black tight-fitting clothes.

“Yunzhi and your future mother-in-law are here too. Although you have to observe mourning, don’t always wear all black. By the way, where did you get so many black clothes?”

Li Shulan was puzzled. Since leaving Pingcheng last time, she had noticed that her daughter had been wearing black clothes every day.

Lin Yinan said, "I found this in a clothing store in Pingcheng last time. The style of this dress is simple and easy to walk in. I think it's pretty good."

Li Shulan frowned. Her future mother-in-law might not like her always dressing like this. "But..."

"I wear these clothes and I like them, so I don't care about other people's feelings."

Knowing what she was going to say, Lin Yinan interrupted her.

She could tell after only two days of getting to know each other.

Su Yunzhi's mother didn't like her. No matter how good Su Yunzhi was, she wouldn't marry into the Su family, so the marriage would have to be called off sooner or later.

“I’ll go with you.”

Seeing that she was about to leave, Li Shulan quickly followed.

"Mother, I can go by myself. You stay here and look after my younger brother and the others."

Without waiting for her, Lin Yinan picked up a basket and quickly walked out of the cave.

Lin Yinan headed in the direction of the lake that the Yun family guards had indicated. The area around the cave was full of rocks and very uneven.

She used her crossbow to climb over the rocky hill and soon entered a dense forest.

The dense forest was filled with the sounds of insects and birds, but there were no signs of large wild animals in the vicinity.

The faint sound of flowing water could be heard, indicating that we were not far from the pool.

Lin Yinan quickened her pace and walked towards the sound of flowing water. After walking for more than ten feet, she saw a natural lake the size of a football field in front of her.

With no one around the pool, Lin Yinan found a large rock, put down her basket, took a deep breath, and jumped in to wash herself from head to toe.

It was September, and it had just rained, so the water was a bit cool.

She swam to the shore, found a shallow spot, untied her hair, took out some shampoo from her spatial storage, and carefully massaged her scalp.

Since she transmigrated here, this was the first time she had ever washed her hair. She had to use shampoo three times to get it clean.

To avoid being spied on, Lin Yinan didn't dare take off her clothes. She submerged herself in the water and rubbed herself back and forth countless times through her clothes.

Suddenly something slipped under my foot. Was it a snake or a fish?

She quickly looked down and saw a large fish weighing five or six pounds swimming leisurely.

What a huge fish!

Lin Yinan quickly tied her hair back and slowly dived into the water behind the big fish.

As soon as Yun Mo emerged from the woods, he saw a dark figure dive into the lake.

Someone actually arrived before him. Who is that person in the water?

There was a basket on a flat, large rock. He walked over and saw a set of black clothes inside.

The person in the water was actually her!

Being alone together, Yun Mo quickly hid behind a large rock to avoid suspicion, intending to wait until she left before washing himself.

However, after waiting for a while, there was still no movement on the water.

Yun Mo couldn't help but stick his head out to look at the water. She had slipped into the water when he came out, and a long time had passed since then.

Oh no!

One of her young ladies had a master to teach her martial arts, but Bald Water probably didn't.

Yun Mo suddenly stood up and jumped into the water with lightning speed.

He wasn't a very good swimmer and couldn't hold his breath for long. He dived into the water and glanced around, but it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything.

Yunmo surfaced, preparing to take a breath and then dive a little deeper to take another look.

Just as he was about to dive down again, Lin Yinan surfaced from the water and sprayed a mouthful of water onto Yun Mo's face.

She reached out and wiped the water droplets from her face, only to see Yun Mo staring blankly at her.

Lin Yinan glanced at him calmly, then turned around and swam towards the shore, dragging the five or six-pound fish with her.

"You'll go bald?" Yun Mo asked in a deep voice.

Lin Yinan rolled her eyes. "Didn't you see it?"

"You caught that fish?"

"Is it not allowed?"

Yun Mo was once again speechless.

He thought Lin Yinan would leave after getting ashore, but to his surprise, she picked up a stone and smashed it on the fish's head, killing it and throwing it onto the shore. She then swam back, not even giving him a glance, and dived back into the water.

Is she addicted to catching fish?
