Chapter 333 Mutual Affection

The mountain path they were walking on was far from any village, and they finally found a dilapidated temple on the mountainside at dusk.

"Madam, we will stay here for the night."

Lin Yinan glanced at the dilapidated temple. A few broken tiles still hung on the roof, but fortunately, the surrounding walls had not collapsed and could keep out wild animals at night.

"Okay! Take some mosquito-repelling herbs and fumigate the area."

After tying the horse to a big tree in front of the temple, Lin Yinan took the Qianxia sisters to take care of their physiological needs and, incidentally, to find a water source.

They found a shallow stream behind the dilapidated temple, which must have formed recently after the rains.

They fetched water with earthenware pots, and then the three of them cut a lot of green grass by the stream.

Back at the dilapidated temple, Yun Shiyi and his men had cleared out a room with four walls and lit a fire.

Lin Yinan glanced at the others who were scattered and busy, and took the pheasant from the little guard.

"Give it to me, I'll handle it."

"Thank you, Madam!"

The young guard bowed to her, then took a cloth bag from his waist and placed it on the ground before running away with a cheerful gait.

Qianwu opened the bag and took a look, then threw it back on the ground in fright.

"My God!"

Lin Yinan picked it up and took a look. Good heavens, it was full of headless and skinned snakes.

Pheasant and snake meat are enough for everyone here to have a delicious meal.

So the three of them took two pots to the stream behind the temple to clean the pheasant, washed and chopped it before taking it back to the dilapidated temple to stew.

When it was almost done stewing, Lin Yinan added some fresh wild vegetables, and the aroma wafted through the mountains.

They ate until all the guards were stuffed.

With Yun Shiyi around, Lin Yinan doesn't need to worry about night shifts.

In the middle of the night, half-asleep, everyone was awakened by the neighing of horses outside.
