Lin Yinan didn't know how to comfort her about the fact that she was about to lose her child.
Having given birth to one child, Lu Yashuang suddenly realized that this familiar situation was flooding her mind again—she was about to give birth!
But the baby in her belly is only about five months along, not yet ready to be born.
Seeing her full of questions, Lin Yinan could only say dryly, "The doctor said there was a miscarriage, and the baby must be born as soon as possible."
"Could you please ask the doctor to do everything possible to save the baby?" Lu Yashuang pleaded, not quite understanding what was happening.
"It's no use, the doctor said the baby's movements have stopped."
"ah!"
Lu Yashuang let out a scream, it was hard to tell whether it was from pain or from listening to Lin Yinan's words.
Qianwu came in carrying hot water, followed by a midwife carrying a small bundle.
"Madam, the midwife has arrived."
Looking at the distressed Lu Yashuang, Lin Yinan tried to comfort her, "Second sister-in-law, don't be sad. Take care of yourself, and you can have another child."
She got up and gave the bedside table to the midwife.
The midwife laid out the small bundle on the table and took out some auxiliary tools from inside.
Waves of pain washed over her, and Lu Yashuang was so distressed that tears streamed down her face, and she hummed a few words from time to time.
After washing her hands, the midwife placed a clean handkerchief in her mouth for her to bite on, and then began the examination.
After the examination, she said to Lu Yashuang, "Madam, please do as I say in a moment. Don't worry, I have examined the child and he is a caring person who will not let you suffer too much."
Upon hearing this, Lu Yashuang's tears flowed even more fiercely.
The midwife sighed and continued, "You're still young, take good care of yourself, maybe the baby will come back soon?"
"Really?" Lu Yashuang's eyes lit up immediately.
"Yes, we all have this saying here."
The midwife's words seemed to infuse her with a magical power.
Not long after, amidst a series of desperate screams, Lu Yashuang successfully gave birth to a baby whose entire body was purplish-black.
"What a pity! It's a boy."
After showing the fetus to Lin Yinan, the midwife quickly wrapped it in a cloth and then went to clean Lu Yashuang.
With a loud "bang!", the door was pushed open forcefully.
Yunmu, who had just regained consciousness, was pale-faced and staggered against the door. Qianwu rushed over and helped her in.
"Shuang, how is Shuang'er?"
Just then, the midwife exclaimed joyfully, "The placenta has come out safely too."
Yunmu's legs went weak, and Lin Yinan quickly stepped forward to take her and help her sit down at the table.
When Yunmu saw the blood-soaked cloth bag on the table, she reached out with trembling hands to open it, but Lin Yinan stopped her.
"Mother, you'd better not watch it."
"No, I want to see! Even though he can't grow up smoothly, he is still a descendant of the Yun family."
Looking at the purplish-black mass inside the cloth bag, Yunmu's eyes rolled back, and she fainted in Qianwu's arms.
"Madam, let me carry the old lady back."
Lin Yinan nodded.
After cleaning her up, the midwife helped Lu Yashuang change into a clean set of clothes.
"Madam, would you like me to help dispose of this stillborn child?"
Lying on the bed, Lu Yashuang looked at Lin Yinan with pleading eyes, "My husband hasn't even glanced at him."
Ever since I started feeling fetal movement, no matter how late I come home each day, my husband will talk to me for a few minutes.
Now, he has no idea that the child is gone!
Lin Yinan took out a piece of silver and handed it to the midwife, saying, "Thank you for your hard work, midwife. We will find a place to properly bury the child."
The midwife didn't insist. She took the money, packed her things, and left in a hurry.
Lin Yinan wrapped the cloth on the table again and then wrapped it with another piece of oil paper.
"Second Sister-in-law, I'd like to ask Yun Er to find a place outside the city to bury him. What do you think?"
"Okay, thank you for your help."
With Lu Yashuang's permission, Lin Yinan carried the package and went out to find Yun Er.
Yun Er solemnly accepted the package, led the horses, and left the city.
When they returned to the house, Lu Yashuang had already fallen into a deep sleep, and Qianwu was emptying the used dirty water.
"Qianwu, you stay here and watch over the Second Madam. I'm going to check on the Old Madam and the others."
"Go ahead, Madam. I will keep an eye on the Second Madam."
Lin Yinan first went to see the three women, including Old Mrs. Zhao and her daughter-in-law. Li Shulan and Zhang Shi were still young and had just woken up, so they were not very strong. The two of them were leaning lazily on the low couch and talking to Lin Yiheng.
Seeing her come in, Li Shulan's eyes began to redden again.
"Anan, your mother thought she would never see you again!"
"It's all in the past."
Lin Yinan reached out and hugged her, gently patting her back.
After calming Li Shulan down, she looked at Zhang.
"Second Aunt, how were you kidnapped?"
Zhang was a fiery woman who spoke her mind directly and never beat around the bush. “That day, a lot of merchants came. One of the guests in a private room said that the dishes were too salty and the meat was not fresh. They were making a fuss. I thought I would settle things peacefully, so I went up to take a look. Who would have thought that as soon as I stepped into the private room, everything went black and I woke up here.”
"It must have been premeditated by those thieves."
"I wonder when your grandmother will wake up?" Li Shulan asked worriedly.
Lin Yiheng shook his head at Lin Yinan, indicating that they were unaware that the Yun family and Nineteen had also been brought along.
"The doctor has examined her and said that Grandma is fine. She will wake up naturally after she has had enough sleep."
Lin Yinan offered a few more words of comfort, then excused herself to watch the food being prepared and didn't leave the house.
Once outside, Lin Yiheng asked, "Anan, how is Sister-in-law Yun?"
"The child is gone."
Should we tell Mother and the others?
