Chapter 379 Market Day in Changyi County

“Anan, I see you’ve basically finished dealing with things here. Why don’t you and Nineteen come back with us?”

Yunmu gazed at Yun Shijiu in Lin Yinan's arms.

Perhaps due to the shock, Yunmu could only hold Yun Shijiu for a short while during the day, but refused to sleep with her at night.

"Mother, I won't go back for now. I'll leave after this season's harvest is complete and Chi'an is completely stable," Lin Yinan said.

The most important thing is that the core management personnel here have not yet matured. She will only feel at ease leaving when they are able to handle things independently.

Otherwise, all the work done before will be in vain.

After Yunmu and the others left, Lin Yinan decided to go to Changyi County to buy some daily necessities.

Upon hearing the news, Zhao Mang came to ask her, "City Lord Lin, could you help us bring some things?"

“No problem. Go back and tell everyone to register if they need to purchase anything. There will be three mule carts going to Changyi County, and we can give you one to carry your things.”

"Okay, I'll go back and tell them."

"Once you've finalized things today, we'll have Man set off first thing tomorrow morning."

Zhao Mang left happily.

Since Yun Mo couldn't leave, he sent Yun Shiyi with five bodyguards to accompany him.

As night fell, Zhao Mang handed Lin Yinan the list of things the villagers needed to buy, and at the same time confirmed that the people going up the mountain would be led by Shan Que Niang, along with two sturdy women, Shan Que, and a boy of similar age to her, making a total of five people including adults and children.

After a long and tiring journey, Lin Yinan decided not to take Yun Shijiu with her, leaving her and Qianxia in the village while she and Qianwu went to Changyi County.

As dawn broke, the group set off down the mountain in three mule carts without carriages.

The morning breeze rustled through the grass, carrying the fresh fragrance of flowers, grass, and trees.

The titmouse carried her bow and arrows and sat in the mule cart with her little friend, Stone.

She raised her head to greet the morning breeze, feeling delighted. She smiled and gestured excitedly towards the wildflowers and weeds by the roadside.

"A-Tu, look! There are lots of myrtle trees over there. Let's pick them when they're ripe."

Atu looked around at the dense forest with curious eyes, and out of the corner of his eye he saw the livid face of the mountain sparrow girl. He lowered his head and shrank his neck, not daring to answer the mountain sparrow's words.

The mule cart was moving very fast, and by this time they had reached the foot of Chian Mountain.

"What are you doing here? You dare to come all this way? Aren't you afraid of being carried off by jackals?" Sparrow Girl slapped her head with her fan-sized hand and scolded her.

This child, relying on his ability to draw a bow and shoot arrows, was so bold that he dared to venture into dangerous places.

"Mom, be gentle, you're making me dizzy."

The titmouse grinned and sneered at the stone.

The mule cart traveled for nearly an hour on the bumpy, muddy road before finally reaching Changyi County.

Everyone felt fine and no one experienced motion sickness.

Like most of the counties Lin Yinan had fled through before, Changyi County was relatively small, with only a few thousand people. The county's structure was similar to that of Longtan, very simple, with only a few commercial streets. The main residents were county government officials and some merchants.

Today, Changyi County is holding a grand market day, and people from nearby towns and villages have come to participate. Even before entering the town, one can feel the bustling atmosphere of the county seat.

The guards pulled the mule cart to a nearby storage area, and Lin Yinan got off the cart and waited for them to return.

The Sparrow Girl said, "In the South, we don't call it 'going to the market,' but 'going to the market.' 'Going to the market' is what we call it in the North. The market that we build at the foot of the mountain in the future can also be called the 'grass market.'"

"Mom, the city is so lively!" Sparrow was always cheerful, and this was the first time she had ever been to the city.

"Don't move around. There are a lot of people today. Stay close to your mother and aunts and don't get separated," Sparrow said worriedly.

As a product of agricultural culture, market days not only have a profound historical and cultural heritage, but also carry the memories and emotions of the local people.

On market days, people can buy daily necessities, sell their own vegetables and fruits, enjoy delicious food, and some traditional craft performances will also be held.

The guards quickly returned after storing the mule cart.

Because there were too many things to buy, the group split into three groups: Yun Shiyi and Qianwu were in one group with Lin Yinan, the guards were in another group, and Shan Que Niang and the others were in yet another group.

After agreeing on a time, the group set off towards the streets of Changyi County.

It was still early, so Lin Yinan and her group strolled around.

The three women, including Sparrow Girl, had been here many years ago. The villagers had entrusted them with so many things to buy that she was afraid they wouldn't have enough time. So, after entering the main street, she turned directly into a busy alley, and the five of them disappeared into the crowd.

Yun Mo often led his soldiers into the mountains for training, and they inevitably suffered bumps and bruises. Guo Xun's speed in making medicine simply couldn't keep up with their consumption.

Qianwu asked a passerby for directions to the pharmacy, and Lin Yinan led his people there.

Inside the pharmacy, a doctor and a younger apprentice were sorting through the herbs that had been collected.

As soon as she entered, Qianwu asked, "Excuse me, do you have any wound medicine in the store?"

Yes, yes.

The doctor quickly put down the herbs he was holding, clapped his hands, turned around and took out a small porcelain bottle from the counter and handed it to Qianwu.

Qianwu opened the lid, smelled it, then nodded and handed it to Lin Yinan, "Madam, please smell it."

Seeing that they were knowledgeable in the field, the doctor smiled and said, "Your Highness, rest assured, this prescription of mine was passed down from my ancestors. It uses top-quality ingredients and is very effective."

Lin Yinan brought the sniff closer and it was indeed quite nice.

How much is a bottle?

Qianwu capped the bottle and then looked around at the furnishings inside the pharmacy.

"Six qian of silver," the doctor said.
