Chapter 418 Snake Wound

The five high-quality mares sent by the Deng family of Cangwu County have been placed in the horse farm on the back mountain.

As the war intensified in the Central Plains, obtaining high-quality warhorses from the north became increasingly difficult.

Lin Yinan had previously read online posts that said the humid climate in the south was not suitable for raising horses.

After several years of raising horses, they discovered that the difficulty in raising horses was not due to the climate, but rather to the people who knew how to raise them.

The reason for setting up the horse farm on the mountain was that the area behind the mountain was relatively flat.

Later, Yunmo and his team continued to explore the mountains of Longtan and Xihe, and finally discovered an abandoned village in a mountain valley near Xihe County. The village was surrounded by mountains and contained large tracts of uncultivated land.

So, after discussing it with Yunye, they finally decided to make this place their secret military base.

The village was simply renovated to provide a place for the soldiers to rest and store some items, while the abandoned fields were reclaimed, planted with pasture seeds, and used as a horse ranch, as well as a training ground for the soldiers and the secret guards.

As the group headed to the back of the mountain, they encountered four or five villagers carrying someone on their backs, taking a shortcut down the mountain.

Their hurried manner made Lin Yinan feel as if something had happened.

So the three of them rode forward and stopped the group at the fork in the road down the mountain.

"What happened?"

Upon seeing her, the villagers felt as if they had seen a savior.

"Lord of the city, Steward Su has been bitten by a snake and has fainted. We're taking him to the clinic."

Lin Yinan then noticed Su Yunzhi on the villager's back. "What kind of snake bit her?"

"I was working when the snake suddenly appeared. Manager Su pushed me away, and he was bitten by the snake himself," a villager said in a low voice, filled with remorse.

A villager immediately took out a brightly colored snake, about two fingers thick, from the basket on his back. The snake's head had been smashed to pieces.

"Look, this is it. It bit Steward Su and tried to run away, so we worked together to kill it."

"This snake looks like a bamboo viper," a villager said uncertainly.

Lin Yinan was shocked. She could vaguely tell from the snake's color that it was a bamboo viper!

The bamboo viper is a notorious venomous snake!

If someone is bitten by it, the consequences are unimaginable. Lin Yinan asked the villagers, "Where was Steward Su bitten?"

The villager carrying Su Yunzhi turned around and said, "The snake bit her left arm. Manager Su seemed to be terrified of snakes and fainted after being bitten."

Sitting on horseback, Lin Yinan immediately noticed that Su Yunzhi's left forearm was exposed. There were two bite marks near the wrist, and blood was still seeping out. The entire forearm was starting to swell and turn red, with blisters appearing around it.

She hurriedly jumped off the horse. "This snake is poisonous. Quickly put him on the ground. Qianwu, go up the mountain and find Doctor Lin. Everyone else, don't just stand there. Go and cut some branches and vines to make a stretcher. We'll carry him back in a bit."

Yun Mo also dismounted and tied the two horses to a tree nearby.

After the villagers placed Su Yunzhi on the grass, they took out their machetes to cut tree branches to make a stretcher.

Lin Yinan squatted down to examine Su Yunzhi's wound carefully; it had indeed begun to worsen.

Without much thought, she took out a small bottle of medicine from her spatial storage, poured out two pills, and fed them to Su Yunzhi.

"What is this?" Yun Mo asked in confusion.

Her treasure chest always contained many strange and mysterious things.

“A secret medicine for treating snake bites. Take the water bag off your horse and give it to me.”

Yun Mo obeyed and did as he was told. When he returned with the water pouch, he saw Lin Yinan holding a thin tube and sticking it into Su Yunzhi's other hand. Then, she took a dagger and made a cross-shaped cut on the place where Su Yunzhi had been bitten.

Lin Yinan put down the dagger, and was just about to look for the snake's fangs in the wound when Yun Mo stopped her.

"Let me do it!"

Yun Mo shoved the water pouch into her arms, pulled Su Yunzhi's hand, and with a strange expression, tried to put the wound into his mouth.

Could he be planning to suck out Su Yunzhi's drugs with his mouth?

"Wait!" Lin Yinan hurriedly stopped him.

Yun Mo looked at her in confusion, and she continued in a serious tone, "This poison can be squeezed out by hand. Before squeezing, you should check to see if there are any venomous fangs left in the wound."

Hearing her say that, Yun Mo disdainfully let go of Su Yunzhi's hand and stepped aside.

Lin Yinan picked up the water bag and began to rinse Su Yunzhi's wound. She did not find any remaining fangs from the snake. After cleaning, she sprinkled some snakebite treatment powder on it and bandaged the wound with gauze.

"Will he die?"

"No, I'll give him some antidote for snake venom, and then I'll have Dr. Lin take another look. He should be fine after a few days of rest," Lin Yinan said.

“Yun Wu can also cure snake venom. If that doesn’t work, bring him back.”

"There shouldn't be any problems." Lin Yinan had a lot of confidence in modern high-tech medicines.

Yun Mo glanced at Su Yunzhi's handsome face, then looked away, a vague unease creeping into his heart.

"You still care about him?"

Lin Yinan rolled her eyes at his nonsensical words, wondering what was wrong with him now.

She said calmly, "Su Yunzhi was a man of great talent; he shouldn't have died here. If it were anyone else, I wouldn't have stood by and watched them die."

"Don't say things like that again. People will laugh at you if they hear you."

She couldn't bring herself to treat human life as worthless when a few pills could save a life.

Lin Yinan pursed her lips and stopped talking. Yun Mo touched his nose awkwardly, picked up the empty water bag, stood up, and hung it back on the horse.
