Chapter 421 Comparison

Lin Yinan was well aware of the importance of provisions in ancient warfare.

No wonder the Great Yan Kingdom was defeated. The soldiers fought with their lives on the front lines, but the logistics and food supplies were inadequate.

Even the most powerful army faces difficulties in transporting supplies. Add to that the presence of treacherous officials in the court, and how can soldiers win battles when they are hungry?

Food is not only essential for war, but also fundamental to the survival of ordinary people.

"I don't want to eat the clay; I want to use it to make porcelain," Lin Yinan said softly.

"Using Guanyin clay to make porcelain?"

"Yes, but I'll go back and have someone try it."

Yun Mo looked at her with sparkling eyes, "The whole mountain is made of Guanyin clay, so if all of it could be used to make porcelain..."

As he spoke, his eyes dimmed, and he began to doubt himself, feeling that he was not as good as Lin Yinan.

Seeing that he suddenly stopped talking, Lin Yinan asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Yun Mo said in a low voice, "A Nan, you are very smart and knowledgeable. I feel that I am not good enough for you."

"You are also excellent, training the guards and soldiers so well. The development of Longtan is inseparable from your protection."

“Even Su Yunzhi knows more than I do.”

Lin Yinan tightened the rope and looked at him, puzzled as to why he suddenly seemed so insecure.

"As the saying goes, every coin has two sides. You all have different strengths and weaknesses, so you can't be compared."

All her knowledge and experience stemmed from her learning and experiences in her previous life.

If she had grown up in ancient times, she might not have been as outstanding as them.

As soon as she said that, Yun Mo understood.

"Anan, will you look down on me for being just a rough and brute who leads troops into battle?"

"My husband is a wise, brave, open-minded, and outstanding general. Both Shijiu and I are proud of you."

Yun Mo turned his head and stared at her intently, his eyes brightening slightly, and a smile appeared in his eyes.

As he repeatedly recalled her words, the corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up slightly.

Seeing him grinning foolishly, Lin Yinan said, "It's getting late. Nineteen should be looking for us soon. Let's go back early."

Without waiting for him, he rode away.

Yun Mo took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner turmoil, and spurred his horse to catch up.

"Anan, wait for me."

When the two returned to Longtan County, it was already getting dark.

The air was thick with a muggy, humid atmosphere, as if it were about to rain. Small groups of fireflies began to emerge after sunset, appearing and disappearing in the lush grass.

On my way home, I happened to run into Lin Yiheng, who was coming out of the county government office.

"Anan, I heard that Yunzhi was bitten by a snake. The villagers said it was lucky that you were there at the time." Lin Yiheng said as they walked, talking about what happened that afternoon.

Lin Yinan nodded, not denying it, "How is he now?"

"When Qianwu took him back, he regained consciousness. His bitten hand was swollen so badly it looked terrifying."

"I'll bring some gifts to visit him tomorrow, since he was injured at work."

Lin Yiheng glanced at Yun Mo's face out of the corner of his eye. "I'll go with you. Tomorrow I'll go to the shop first to buy some meat, and then I'll go and call you." As he spoke, he looked at Yun Mo and asked, "Brother-in-law, would you like to come along?"

Yun Mo shook his head, "You can go. I have something to do at the salt field tomorrow."

He didn't want to see Su Yunzhi's face; it made him feel uncomfortable.

It's like being on a mountain, pretending to be unconscious even though you're already awake—how hypocritical!

Lin Yiheng's gaze lingered on the two bulging cloth bags on the horse's back.

"Anan, what's in your bag?"

"Guanyin clay," Lin Yinan replied without hesitation.

Lin Yiheng was somewhat taken aback. "Guanyin clay is really hard to eat. Why would you think of eating this?"

“Brother, Anan isn’t for eating; she’s going to use her for making pottery,” Yun Mo explained from the side.

"Pottery making? Can this Guanyin clay be used to make pottery?"

Lin Yinan said, "Of course I can do it. You'll know once I do it."

"Do you need my help?"

"No need, I need a few tools, I'll ask the village to make them for me."

"If you need my help, just let me know, and I'll come and get you tomorrow morning."

The three chatted until they reached their doorstep. Lin Yiheng said goodbye to the two men and then turned and went inside.

Yun Mo led the horse directly to the backyard. "Are these two bags of soil for you to carry back to the backyard?"

"Okay, let's put it in our yard first. I still need to make a few more molds."

The couple quickly washed up and went to the front yard.

During the meal, everyone was talking about Su Yunzhi being bitten by a snake.

Longtan is not large, and any slight disturbance can spread throughout the entire county.

Yunmo took the opportunity to educate his children, especially his eldest brother's two boys, who were at an age that even dogs would dislike.

Finally, Yunmu said, "There's still an old ginseng root at home. I'll send it to Steward Su tomorrow."

She was a reasonable person; after all, Su Yunzhi was injured while working for the county.

Lin Yinan smiled and politely declined, "Mother, my elder brother and I will visit her tomorrow. Su Yunzhi's injury is not serious, so she doesn't need that old ginseng. Your old ginseng is rare, so please keep it safe for future use."

Yun Mo: "Mother, Anan has something on her mind about this matter, so don't worry about it!"

Seeing that her son had said so, Yunmu did not insist any further.

The next morning, Lin Yinan and Lin Yiheng went to the Su family together.

Su Kunliang and Su Kaifa are still in Cangwu County, and only Zhu Jinhui is at home with her sons.

The servants led the two into the house.

Zhu Jinhui sat in the reception room, glanced at Lin Yinan with disgust, and said arrogantly, "What are you doing here?"

“Yunzhi is injured, let’s go see him.”
