Chapter 158 Battle Against Wild Boars

In her dream, something seemed to be running and grunting. It was a pig again. Qin Xiaozhou hadn't slaughtered a pig in a year, and now she had become thinner. She was no longer a pig, and it was strange that she could even listen to pigs grunt. It seemed like there were dogs chasing her. Qin Xiaozhou kicked her feet, wanting to run faster. You big yellow dog, you were chasing her and barking at her.

"Xiao Zhou, wild boars are coming!!" Wang Lan hurriedly put on her clothes and ran out. Zhao Fang also woke up from her dream and was terrified when she heard the noise outside: "There are wild boars! Wild boars have come out of the mountains!"

"What? Wild boar!" Two dogs howled in the backyard. Lu Yan was shocked, her legs went weak. The Lu family lived at the foot of the mountain, and wild boars were the worst thing that could happen to them. "What about the back door?"

"Wild boars are too strong. We don't know if the back door can hold them off, and we don't dare to open the door to go out and check."

"Don't open the door! Don't open the door!" Wang Lan was frantic, pacing back and forth.

Zhao Fang ran into the house, hugged her son, and woke Qin Jinxiu, saying, "There are wild boars outside, go and wake your sister up."

When Qin Jinxiu came in, Qin Xiaozhou was still half asleep, the sounds of wild boars filling her ears. She turned over, trying to go back to sleep, but Jinxiu immediately slapped her face, exclaiming, "Big sister, big sister, wake up! The wild boars from the Western Hills are coming down!"

"Huh?" Qin Xiaozhou was also startled, only then did she clearly hear the barking of the dogs and the sounds of wild boars in the backyard. "There really are wild boars?"

No wonder she dreamt that she turned into a pig and was chased and bitten by dogs.

Qin Xiaozhou ran to Wang Lan's room, where Xiao Shitou was sleeping soundly. She also picked up Xiao Si and said, "Lu Yan and Jinxiu, you two stay here and keep watch. Make sure the door is closed and don't go out."

Qin Xiaozhou closed the inner courtyard gate, then went to the front gate to add a bolt and lit torches. A group of them carried a ladder to the back courtyard, heading towards the gate at the foot of the mountain. Suddenly, the sound of running footsteps rushed up the hill, crashing high into the wooden door with a deafening roar. Qin Xiaozhou shouted, "Quick, hold the door shut..."

Before the words were finished, the wooden door was kicked open, and a wild boar jumped into the inner yard. The dog chased and bit the wild boar, which rampaged through the yard, overturning rabbit cages and causing newborn rabbits to fall out and crash to the ground. The rabbits, whose fur had not yet fully grown, were instantly mangled and bloodied.

Chickens and ducks ran out of the coop, flying around and squawking.

Zhao Fang and Wang Lan both screamed in fright.

This pig wasn't the half-grown piglet she slaughtered at the beginning of the year; it was a fully grown boar, weighing over 300 pounds, with sharp tusks that could easily pierce a rabbit's belly.

Qin Xiaozhou gasped for breath, grabbed the machete, and said, "Grandma, go back to the front yard and get the net. Mother, you're quite strong too, so take the machete and stand guard here."

This is the only passage from the backyard to the frontyard. Guarding this inhabited yard will ensure safety. "Okay, okay." Zhao Fang took the knife, her hands trembling, but she still stood in front of the passage.

To separate the backyard for living from the backyard for raising livestock, a gate was added in the middle. Now that gate is closed, the wild boar is trapped at the very back of the yard.

Wang Lan quickly ran off and returned in less than a quarter of an hour with a net made of hemp rope, and also grabbed a stick to guard it.

The wild boar, chased and bitten by the dogs, grew increasingly agitated. Qin Xiaohou called the two dogs over and had Zhao Fang and Wang Lan hold them back while she confronted the boar. The backyard was large, and the boar was agile; this approach wouldn't work. Qin Xiaohou had no choice but to use a net to catch the boar.

The back door, which is close to the mountain, has a small opening that can barely keep out the wild boars running around outside. But the one inside feels trapped and is going crazy.

The wild boar puffed out hot air as it dug into the ground. Qin Xiaozhou comforted the two women, "Don't be afraid, just hack away. The more afraid you are, the more restrained you'll become."

Qin Xiaozhou was full of confidence, but her heart was pounding. A tusk piercing the stomach could be fatal, but the wild boar had already come to her house. If she didn't do anything, who knew if it would break through the second back door and run into the yard where people lived.

The wild boar charged forward, and Wang Lan and Zhao Fang ran over from both sides, grabbing nets to catch it. Qin Xiaozhou rushed forward and slashed with a knife. Fortunately, she was strong, and each slash drew blood. The wild boar charged again, and Wang Lan and Zhao Fang couldn't hold onto the net. Wang Lan was dragged to the ground, but she still clung tightly to the net. The wild boar lunged at Qin Xiaozhou's arm, but Qin Xiaozhou ignored it and slashed wildly with her knife.

The wild boar's speed was restricted by the net, and Wang Lan and Zhao Fang were dragged on the ground. The wild boar went berserk and turned to attack Wang Lan.

Qin Xiaozhou was shocked and chopped at the wild boar's head. Blood was everywhere. The boar became agitated from the pain and threw her away, then lunged at Qin Xiaozhou's calves. She kept wielding her knife and slashed at the head one after another. The screams echoed through the night sky, shrill and terrifying.

Zhao Fang got up and started chopping at the pig's head.
