In the woodshed, Qin Xiaozhou was playing with toys with Lu Xiaosi. The rattle drum was spinning loudly. "Come on, come on, Xiaosi, come and grab it! If you grab it, it's yours."
Lu Yan rolled her eyes. "Sister-in-law, you're so childish. You even fought with Xiao Si over toys and made Da Ge make a rocking horse. I think that prototype is for little kids."
"When you're bored, you naturally have to find ways to pass the time." Qin Xiaozhou didn't think there was anything wrong with taking a child's toy. "It's so quiet on a snowy day. It would be fun to keep a couple of birds. How about we sit around the stove and brew some tea? We can roast the chestnuts left over from autumn and soak a couple of dried fruit slices. That would be so relaxing to watch the plum blossoms and appreciate the snow."
What Lu Yan admired most about Qin Xiaozhou was her resilience in finding what was most comfortable for her in any situation. If others had injured their legs or bones and heard that they wouldn't be able to walk normally for three to five months and might become lame in the future, they would probably have complained about their fate or given up on themselves.
However, Qin Xiaozhou moved into the woodshed, where she slept on dry pine needles. She actively cooperated with the doctor's treatment and even had the mood to appreciate flowers and play with children. She showed no trace of sorrow or dejection.
Lu Yu stood at the door for a long time, a surge of passion rising in her heart. Her worries about childbearing had lessened. If she really couldn't have children, and even if she tried everything, she still couldn't have them, then she would let Li Changpu divorce her and she would go with this niece-in-law.

Dr. Li hadn't experienced such a lively atmosphere in over a decade, and he couldn't resist playing with the children. Li Changpu sighed and whispered to his wife, "Old man, old man. Look at my master, he's so old but still loves a good time."
Doctor Li, his beard bristling and eyes wide, grabbed a handful of snow, shaped it into a ball, and lashed out at his apprentice, "You brat, always talking badly about your master."
