Two hundred ducks, all fluffy and big, took up most of the pond. Fortunately, the dam was built high, which could hold a lot of water and turn it into a large pond when the rainy season came. Otherwise, in a few months when the ducks grow up, there wouldn't be enough room for them to swim in the pond.
Xiao Si struggled to get down in Zhao Fen's arms. Zhao Fen carefully placed him on the ground covered with a palm-leaf raincoat. The bamboo rustled as it swayed. Xiao Si flapped his hands, babbling as he rolled over and crawled toward the ducks. Zhao Fen's eyes widened instantly. She was overjoyed that Xiao Si could finally crawl. Afraid that he would get cold if he crawled out of the raincoat and onto the ground, she clapped her hands to attract her younger son to crawl back.
Her eyes were blurred with tears. She had always worried that her youngest son would not survive. Wang Lan brought wheat bran to feed the ducks, and Zhao Fen quickly told her the good news. Fortunately, things suddenly changed after the granddaughter-in-law entered the family.
In that case, their granddaughter-in-law is truly a lucky star for the Lu family.
Then, when Qin Xiaozhou returned home, she was greeted with unprecedented enthusiasm by Wang Lan and Zhao Fen. "Granddaughter-in-law, let me make you a new dress. Look at your old clothes. You are a new bride, so you should wear new clothes for good luck."
Qin Xiaozhou looked puzzled and threw the bamboo in the yard. The Lu brothers and she had been cutting bamboo all day. After the beginning of spring, bamboo shoots should start to grow. They cut down the old bamboo that could be cut to make room for the new shoots and also to make netting.
