Chapter 16 Hunting in the Mountains

They went to the cloth shop, and Jiang Yue spent five hundred coins to buy two sets of clothes and two pairs of shoes. Fortunately, she was able to buy the clothes in Jiang Nian's size, and the embroiderer made some alterations.

The village chief felt sorry for her and said, "You can buy some cloth and ask your aunt or sister-in-law to make it for you. It will save you money."

Jiang Yue smiled and said, "It's too late now. I'll ask my aunt for help later."

Having said that, she doesn't want to owe anyone a favor.

After that, they went to the grocery store. The village chief and the other man did not follow them in, but just waited outside.

Jiang Yue's things were all placed in a large wooden barrel. Neither of them consciously looked inside and had no idea what was inside.

After that, they returned to the village.

When the villagers asked about it, Jiang Yue just said that it was a necessity for life and they couldn't survive without it. This made everyone turn the topic back to the cruel family and stopped asking about their privacy.

After dropping off the village chief at the village entrance, Jiangshan made a detour and took them back to the foot of the mountain. When he got back home, he discovered that Jiangyue had left a package in the car.

Jiangshan opened it and found a bag of candy and four large white flour buns. The candy was from the grocery store, something he had seen before. But the large white buns, he wondered where they were bought from, had a rich, fragrant wheat aroma.

"Dad, is this something they forgot to take?" This is not cheap.

The village chief stroked his beard, looking thoughtful. "It should be their thank-you gift. It's okay, take it, and help them more in the future."

Things went faster today than Jiang Yue expected.

She left a chicken for Jiang Nian and asked him to wait patiently, then she went into the space and took a good bath.

This wash takes an hour.

When she came out, Jiang Nian was almost furious.

She looked at the broken bones on the ground and thought she should have left a garbage bag.

Before she could say anything, a warm breath sprayed on her neck.

He was smelling her.

She tilted her head and Jiang Nian rubbed her face like a cat.

"Do you like the taste?"

He stuck out his tongue and tried to lick her. She had already taken precautions and quickly dodged. Then she said, "I'll get you some water. You can wash yourself and still get the same taste."

She fetched a bucket of water and taught him how to undress.

But this bucket could only hold her, and Jiang Nian couldn't move even if he got in.

She held her forehead, having no choice but to wipe it slowly with a towel, "We'll go into the mountains to wash it the day after tomorrow."

After taking a shower and washing their hair, they changed into new clothes and finally felt like they were alive again.

The weather is hot, and my washed hair dries in a short time.

Jiang Yue tied his hair up, and then the two of them got together to count their belongings.

There are only 8 copper coins left in my hand.

There were only 150 meat buns left, and about 120 steamed buns. She hadn't expected them to become hard currency at this point. It seemed like satisfying hunger was crucial.

Jiang Yue rubbed Jiang Nian's head hard, "Big boy, big boy, you really can eat too much!"

Jiang Nian was caught off guard and looked up at her, not understanding what was going on and feeling a little confused.

The next day, Jiang Yue asked Jiang Nian to carry her into the mountains.

She didn't know how to describe ginseng, but if she could let him smell it, it would be easier to find.

Treat him like a Husky...

Jiang Nian was very familiar with the mountains, and the place he entered now had few human traces.

"Jiang Nian, take off your clothes and turn into a wolf to go hunting, okay?"

He tilted his head, not understanding such a long sentence.

Jiang Yue unbuttoned a button for him, and he knew that he was going to take off his clothes.

Then Jiang Yue touched his little canine teeth.

He squatted down and turned into a ferocious wolf.

Last night in bed, when he transformed into a wolf, Jiang Yue touched his fangs in this way. He shuddered, probably a little sensitive, but did not shy away.

Jiang Yue deliberately slowed down her speech, using both hands and feet, "I'm waiting for you here. You go hunt."

Then he sat down and looked at him.

Jiang Nian understood, turned around, and disappeared in a moment.

Jiang Yue didn't sit in one place obediently, but she didn't go far either. She looked for herbs nearby.

Now that we have a place, we can simply prepare some medicinal materials.

Every time she found a herb, she would keep one and plant it in the ground in the space.

She also collected the flowers, fruits and stems of the ginseng, but she doesn't know if they can grow again.

The soil in her space is very fertile, and compared to the normal growth time of plants, it can grow quickly, reducing the time by half.

But she could only stay in there for two hours at a time.

When she first came here, she had already planted more than a dozen kinds of fruit trees. In less than half a month, they have grown to more than one finger tall.

Now that she has independent time and space, she will start growing crops and vegetables in it in a couple of days.

Before she could find the ginseng, Jiang Nian came back with two pheasants' necks in his mouth, threw the chickens in front of her, and panted.

The pheasant's neck was not broken and it was still breathing, flapping its wings on the ground.

Jiang Nian's expression seemed like he wanted to be praised and wanted to lick her.

"stop!"

The fangs were still stained with blood, and she didn't want to be stained by the fishy smell. Besides, this situation seemed a little familiar.

"Before, was it you who threw the chicken to me?"

Jiang Yue took out the chicken from the space. It was dead, but its body was still warm.

Jiang Nian looked at her and seemed to be smiling.

She patted his head, as he wished, "Big boy, you are awesome! You are amazing!"

Jiang Nian was happy, but he didn't dare to lick her, so he rubbed his head against her neck.

Jiang Yue watched him bite off the neck of his prey and shuddered, not daring to give him her fragile neck.

She collected the two latest pheasants she had caught and then gestured to the dead chicken as his reward.

Jiang Nian opened his mouth wide and pierced his fangs into the pheasant's body.

She didn't want to see the bloody scene of being disemboweled, so she turned around and continued looking for herbs.

Jiang Nian ate the food very quickly. He knew that Jiang Yue liked prey, so he turned around and ran away again.

When he came back, he brought a litter of rabbits, but this time only the two big ones were still alive, and the two little ones had died.

As usual, she gave the small one to Jiang Nian to eat, under the pretext of replenishing his strength.

She had noticed that the eldest child had a voracious appetite, so he had to rely on himself to feed himself.

At noon today, Jiang Yue finally found a small ginseng and a piece of yam.

The yams here are easy to dig. She kept some broken roots and threw them into the space, and sold the rest.

As for the small ginseng, before putting it into the space, let Jiang Nian smell it first.

"Do you know where else it is? Take me there."

Jiang Nian bent down and let her climb on. Then he carried her on his back to look for ginseng.

He was moving very fast, and Jiang Yue was afraid of getting scratched, so she hugged his back tightly and buried her head in his fur.

After a while, Jiang Yue found a ginseng that was bigger than the one she sold the first time.

Of course she wouldn't let it go.

After digging this one, Jiang Nian wanted to go find another one, but she stopped him.

"We still have to go to town. We'll look for it tomorrow."
