"Grandma Zhao, you've come at a really bad time today. My parents have gone to visit relatives, and I'm about to leave as well. You're an outsider, how can you stay in my house? You'd better leave quickly."
Grandma Zhao completely ignored Yang Hong and continued massaging her legs.
“I really can’t walk anymore. I must wait for my mother-in-law to come back. I’m not going anywhere else.”
Yang Hong was anxious, but he couldn't just drag the old lady out.
At this moment, Yang Hong's wife, He Shi, came out of the room. Upon seeing the old lady, she immediately frowned.
"Oh, isn't this Grandma Zhao? What brings you here?"
The old lady was displeased as soon as she saw He Shi. This woman was very scheming, and most of the troubles in their family were caused by her.
With this woman in her family, her granddaughter-in-law is bound to have a tough time lately.
"Isn't this a peach blossom? It's getting more and more beautiful as it grows." The old lady began to praise He Shi against her will.
Mrs. He was very pleased with the old lady's flattery, but her expression did not improve much.
"My husband just said that Ruotong is already married, so you won't be able to see her."
"You two can't even lie properly. Ruotong isn't that kind of person. She's a married woman, how could she possibly remarry? If she wants to remarry, she must first break off her engagement with my grandson," the old lady said coldly.
The two were stunned. It seemed that this old lady was not easy to fool. Since that was the case, they would use the excuse of going out to send the old lady away.
Just then, a four- or five-year-old boy ran back from outside. The boy's name was Tiedan, and he was Yang Hong's son.
"Mom, I'm hungry."
Tie Dan ran into the house and saw the snacks on the table. His eyes lit up immediately.
"I want some snacks."
Before he finished speaking, Tie Dan came to the table and grabbed several packets of pastries.
These snacks were all wrapped in paper. When a child grabbed them, the wrapping paper tore open, and the snacks inside were all exposed.
The couple stopped stopping him and let Tiedan tear open the wrappers of several snacks.
"It's so delicious!" Tie Dan said, eating as if no one else was around.
This child is so ill-mannered! The adults in the family don't do anything about it. They just let their child run wild like this. He doesn't even have the most basic manners. The old lady is so angry.
The old lady frowned, "The adults in the family aren't saying anything, so what can I say?"
But this is fine too; letting this kid cause trouble will allow me to buy myself some time.
"My dear grandson, these snacks are for your grandma, there's bound to be some for you, why are you in such a hurry?"
"Mother said that everything in the house belongs to me, so these snacks are mine too," Tiedan said while eating.
Grandma Zhao was speechless. With parents like that, this child was doomed. But that was someone else's business, and she had no right to interfere.
"My dear grandson, when is your grandma coming back?"
"Grandma and Auntie went to the market in town. They said they'd buy me something delicious when they got back," Tie Dan blurted out.
Grandma Zhao had a good idea of what was going on. It was almost noon, and her mother-in-law and granddaughter-in-law should be back soon.
Children don't lie, so Yang Hong's lie fell apart on its own.
Enraged, Yang Hong slapped Tie Dan and started cursing.
Tie Dan immediately burst into tears. His father had never hit him before, so why was he so angry today?
“Look at you now, you have no manners at all. You eat the snacks your grandmother eats without even asking her.”
Yang Hong then changed the subject, venting his anger on his son.
"Why are you getting angry at your son? He only ate a few pastries from Grandma. What's wrong with you?" Seeing her son being beaten, Mrs. He felt heartbroken.
"The child is in such a state because you, you wretched woman, have spoiled him rotten. If this continues, the child will be ruined by you." Yang Hong was truly furious this time.
When He saw that her husband was really angry, she immediately backed down and pulled Tiedan into the room.
Old Mrs. Zhao secretly rejoiced. Her lie had been exposed, and she thought, "Let's see how you get rid of me now."
She continued massaging her legs, then moved on to her right leg after finishing her left.
Yang Hong knew he couldn't get rid of the old lady anymore. The old lady was definitely coming today to borrow his sister, so all the effort he had spent over the years would have been wasted.
We need to tell Xiao Kui about this quickly and ask him to think of a solution.
Thinking of this, he spoke:
"Grandma Zhao, I really have to go out now. It's not good for you to stay in my house. You should go first."
Seeing that Yang Hong was still unwilling to give up and wanted to get rid of him, he decided to go all the way and found a chair to lean back in.
"If you have something to do, you can go out first. Your mother-in-law went to the market and should be back soon. I'll wait at home. You can't make me wait outside."
Left with no other option, Yang Hong had to go out and find Xiao Kui to discuss countermeasures.
The unwrapped pastries were scattered all over the table, but the old lady didn't want to clean them up. It was fine to leave them like that; she could let her mother-in-law see them when she came back later.
Not long after, the courtyard gate was finally pushed open, and two figures walked in one after the other.
"Mom, you rest, I'll go cook."
It was the voice of her granddaughter-in-law, Yang Ruotong. Grandma Zhao was overjoyed and quickly stood up from her chair.
At the same time, Yang Ruotong also saw Grandma Zhao and was pleasantly surprised.
"Grandma, what brings you here?"
"I came over early this morning. Grandma missed you so much. Our Zhao family is so sorry for you, for making you suffer." The old lady's eyes reddened as she finished speaking.
