The preparations were completed quickly; the maids were efficient and quiet, leaving the items behind as soon as they were placed in the quilt. They didn't seem like mere maids, but rather like skilled female warriors.
This made Lan Yamei very curious. What kind of man was this Master Nan? He was so mysterious and unpredictable! With so many people following him, his status and position must be extraordinary.
Thinking about this, I felt relieved. People of status wouldn't do things that aren't! He just wants his face fixed, so let's fix it! Let's see what reason he has to refuse to release him then.
Lan Yamei told Nan Fangnan to lean back in her chair and not move, while the other two supervised her and she quickly made preparations.
There were no tweezers in this era. After a moment's thought, Lan Yamei went to the yard, broke off a bamboo stalk, took a section of it, and returned.
Using a blade, gently remove the most elastic outer skin, two thin slices, and set them aside for later use.
Aunt Guan finally understood! She had to treat him, whether she wanted to or not, because he was being held captive!
Once a name is established, it commands respect in the martial arts world. Even Mu Baiqiu himself lowered his stance, not to mention the thousand taels of gold he offered for consultations.
This strange young man, I have no idea who he is, he really has no manners.
They kidnapped me, and the food and drink were incredibly unfriendly. If I bowed my head, how would I survive in the martial world? If everyone followed suit, I'd be like a suitcase, ready to be picked up by whoever needs me! Did they treat me like a human being? Did they treat a divine doctor like a divine doctor?
So when Lan Ya Mei agreed to the treatment, Aunt Guan kept giving her meaningful glances, but Lan Ya Mei just didn't take it to heart and had no choice but to give up without offering any help.
She assumed that Lan Yatou didn't understand pharmacology, and that as long as she followed her instructions step by step, she would get it pretty close.
But seeing her ask for hot water, a handkerchief, and even find some bamboo shoots, he gradually became suspicious. They'd lived together for over three years; when did she learn medicine?
Aunt Guan was puzzled, but Lan Ya Mei had her own plans. She just blinked and patted her hand to reassure her.
Lan Yamei washed her hands in warm water before saying to Nan Fangnan, "In order to recover quickly, I need to pop the blisters on your face and squeeze out the pus. This process will hurt a bit, so please bear with it."
Before Nanfang Nan could agree, the silver needle was inserted, and yellowish-green pus gushed out.
Gently pat the overflowing thick liquid with a towel, then press it down with bamboo pulp, and a lot more overflowed.
After clearing one spot, she moved on to the next. Her movements were steady and swift, prompting Aunt Guan to nod in approval. "It's a pity this girl isn't studying medicine! She's a promising talent!"
Little did she know that in modern times, everyone with some life experience knows basic wound cleaning. This technique was unique and unheard of in ancient times.
Nanfang Nan remained motionless, as if the blisters weren't being squeezed on her own face, and felt no pain. As the blisters burst one by one, her facial skin relaxed considerably. The comfort she felt increased her trust in the person in front of her.
In just over ten minutes, the wound was cleaned. The once pristine white cloth was now filthy.
Lan Yamei quickly threw the dirty cloth aside and shouted, "Bring another basin of hot water, the hotter the better."
Soon a basin of hot water was brought over. The two watchmen dared not relax their vigilance, nor did they dare to ask any questions. They simply moved their heads closer and watched even more intently.
Lan Yamei took a clean cloth, heated it in hot water, lifted it up, gently blew on it to cool it slightly, and then wrung it out.
He spread the handkerchief out flat and quickly turned around to apply it to Nanfang Nan's face.
Nan Nan's legs were stiff and tense, but she didn't utter a sound.
The strategist and the white-haired rat immediately roared, "What are you doing?"
The atmosphere was tense and ready to fight!
Lan Yamei wasn't angry. She simply explained, "Don't be nervous! What I'm doing might be a bit unconventional, but that's where my medical skills lie. I have my reasons. Please don't waste time and move aside."
The two men clearly didn't believe him, so the strategist said, "If you're thinking of seeking revenge, you should think it over carefully!"
Aunt Guan didn't understand the meaning of this operation, so she could only look at Lan Ya Mei with a questioning look.
Lan Yamei said, "You've only ever seen ordinary doctors! How many miracle healers have you ever seen? I'm here to heal the sick and save lives, not to preach and answer questions! If you need me to explain things step by step, then you might as well just kill me!"
Lan Yamei needed to come up with a plan to get rid of these two human surveillance cameras, otherwise how would she apply the medicine later! So she simply plopped down and started throwing a tantrum.
The white-haired rat said, "We don't distrust you, but we're worried about your rough handling and you might hurt Master Nan."
Lan Yamei rolled her eyes. "A little roughness is all for the sake of the treatment's effectiveness. If you don't believe me, ask my master, Doctor Mei."
Aunt Guan had already seen through some of the tricks; this girl was just playing a prank. She hadn't learned any medical skills from her, yet her operational principles were similar to hers—a true talent. Why not let her take a gamble? At worst, she could clean up the mess.
She'd come to terms with it; rather than wasting time, it was better to get better and leave. Forget about respect or not!
So he said, "If you doubt someone, don't use them; if you use someone, don't doubt them. Do you have any other better treatment methods? If you did, I don't think you would have kidnapped our whole family. Since we're in your hands, what is there to worry about?"
The two opened their mouths awkwardly, unable to utter a single word, and could only step back to indicate that they had no suspicions.
Nanfang Nan had a steaming hot towel on his face. At first, it was unbearably hot, but gradually he relaxed and even felt a sense of comfort. He was secretly hoping that this girl would pull off a miracle. So, without saying a word, he simply raised his hand and shook it to indicate that he was fine.
