The two entered the room, where Qiu Zeyu closed the door and pulled out a crudely made wooden box about twenty centimeters long from under the bed, with fancy carvings.
"What is this?" Lan Yamei patted the box, making a thumping sound, like a solid block of wood.
"This is the treasure our family has always guarded. Every martial artist in the martial arts world wants to possess it." Wang Fengyang stared intently at Sister Lan.
"You treasure it so much, why don't you keep it safe? Why show it to me? Aren't you afraid someone will overhear you?" This made Lan Yamei's back go cold; she was really afraid a cold arrow would be shot at her.
“I’m still too young, and there’s no one else in my family. How difficult would it be to protect this treasure? Besides, I don’t even know what’s inside it. I don’t want it anymore. What do you think I should do with it, sister?” Wang Fengyang said sincerely, as if he had thought about it for a long time before making the decision.
"You don't want it anymore? How can that be?" Lan Yamei blurted out without thinking.
Turning to look at Wang Fengyang's bewildered eyes, he thought for a moment and said, "Since everyone in the martial arts world is fighting over it, and your family has paid so many lives for it, I think you should open it and take a look before making a decision, so you won't have any regrets."
"Open it and take a look?" Wang Fengyang had never thought of opening it.
"Yes, open it and take a look." Lan Yamei patted the box and said, "If it's a martial arts manual, then practice it. That way, you'll be able to make a living in the martial world. It won't be in vain that so many people in our family died!"
Seeing that Wang Fengyang was still hesitant, he asked, "What are you worried about?"
“My family only ever said to protect it, but they never said I could keep it for myself. I’m afraid…”
"Who's left in your family now? Just yourself. Of course, you still have us, we're your family too. But we can't be so rigid. You know, those in the right place have an advantage. Since your family is guarding this thing, there must be a reason. Wouldn't it be better if we opened it and solved this mystery?"
"If it's not a martial arts manual, what should we do?" Wang Fengyang had no clue.
"Think about it, anything that people in the martial arts world fight over is either a martial arts manual, a top-grade weapon, or a top-tier elixir. Look at how small this box is; it probably can't hold a weapon, so it's either an elixir or a manual. I think it's more likely to be a manual, because if the elixir were stored like this, it would probably have spoiled and become inedible. What do you think?" Lan Yamei analyzed for a while, then threw the question back to Wang Fengyang.
Wang Fengyang nodded in agreement and said, "Sister Lan's analysis is correct, shall we open it?"
The two got right to work. Lan Ya Mei looked at it from left to right, tried several times but failed. Frustrated, she plopped down on the ground and said, "This thing just won't open, there's no gap at all! What do we do? Is it just a piece of wood?"
"Impossible!" Wang Fengyang also took it and examined it carefully, but found no flaws.
"I'll shake it!" Lan Yamei said, grabbing the square wooden block with both hands and shaking it vigorously. To her surprise, the wooden block suddenly grew larger, a full size bigger, and the pattern on it was different from before.
The two exchanged a glance, as if they had found a way to open it. They shook the box again, but it didn't change anything. They could only hear something rattling inside.
"What do we do now, Sister Lan?" Wang Fengyang squatted to the side, at a loss.
Lan Ya Mei examined the box carefully and finally found a tiny, stamp-sized mark on the bottom. Pointing to it, she asked, "What's this? Is it a keyhole?"
Wang Fengyang took it and saw that it really was. He smiled first, then took off the necklace from his neck, which was indeed a square-shaped seal.
Holding the stamp, I pressed it against the fine lines, and the box popped open with a click, revealing a yellowed old blue book inside.
Lan Ya Mei picked it up and glanced at it, but unfortunately she didn't recognize the classical Chinese characters very well.
Wang Fengyang read aloud from the side, "The Sunflower Manual," which startled Lan Yamei. Could it be that divine book that required self-castration to practice its skills? So such a book really existed in the martial arts world!
Just as Wang Fengyang was about to open it, Lan Yamei snatched it away, stopping him, "No, no, no! Don't practice this! This isn't a good skill, you can't practice it." After saying that, she tightly gripped the manual in her hand.
"Why?" Wang Fengyang asked, puzzled. He had just been told to open the cultivation program himself, so why did it suddenly change?
"Put a book in the box first, then close it and put it back under the bed. Since everyone in the martial arts world is fighting over it, there will inevitably be more conflict later. I'll tell you about this book later. Trust me!" Lan Yamei felt a chill run down her spine. She quickly withdrew the hand holding the manual from her sleeve and placed it in her spatial storage. Then, she used her divine sense to ask Zhao Zhicheng to find her an antique-style copy of the Three Character Classic and hand it to her.
Over the past two days, Zhao Zhicheng has quickly gotten used to the space, finding things easily and knowing exactly where they are.
Wang Fengyang believed it without a doubt, stood up and took out the book "Darts Secret Manual" from under his pillow.
"You've memorized it all?" Lan Yamei asked.
"There are still some things I just can't figure out, and I haven't had a chance to ask my teacher yet. But I don't have any other books, what should I do?" Qiu Zeyu was reluctant to part with them.
Lan Yamei had no choice but to say, "Never mind, I have a martial arts manual here, I'll put it in." As she spoke, she took out a copy of the Three Character Classic from her sleeve.
"Is this a martial arts manual? Isn't that a waste?" Wang Fengyang wanted to watch it all before showing it.
Lan Ya Mei reacted quickly, putting the book inside and then closing the box with a click before explaining, "Listen to me!"
As the box closes, the stamp automatically pops out from the box.
Lan Yamei hung the seal and key around her neck and said, "This matter is known only to heaven, earth, you, and me. We must not tell anyone else."
Wang Fengyang nodded obediently and asked, "Will no one die anymore? Will no one cause trouble for everyone anymore?"
"To be completely safe, there's one more thing we need to do." Lan Yamei had an idea and whispered something in Wang Fengyang's ear. Then the two looked at each other, squinted, and burst into laughter.
Having revealed the last secret, Wang Fengyang felt completely relieved. He stood up, let out a long sigh, and said cheerfully, "Sister Lan, you should rest now. Business is booming at the store today. I'll go help out too." With that, he skipped and hopped out.
Lan Ya Mei, who was carrying a time bomb, finally calmed down.
Zhao Zhicheng said in the space, "So the 'Sunflower Manual' really exists. Shall I take a look first?"
Lan Yamei hurriedly said, "Go ahead and watch if you want, you won't understand it anyway."
"cut!"
Lan Yamei returned to her room, ate a few more bites of food hastily, then went downstairs to the backyard, fetched a horse, and headed towards Lin'an City. Qiu Zeyu hadn't returned yet, and she wanted to go to Lin'an to check on him. Since Murong Xingchen was able to arrive in Xuzhou to rescue people so quickly, someone must have sent him a message, and it wasn't hard to guess that it was Qiu Zeyu.
The horses clattered and galloped out of the city!
