After posting the notice, Lan Yamei said, "Please make up your minds as soon as possible. I will come again tomorrow."
Lan Ya Mei knows that girls who have relied on their youth for many years aren't necessarily capable of enduring hardship. Where the boat of life sails is ultimately steered by oneself.
After that, more than half of the girls left in groups with their luggage. Where they went was no surprise. The remaining girls began to ponder. Lan Ya admired these girls who dared to make a change and silently planned to provide them with start-up capital.
Back at the barbecue restaurant, Menglan's gaze darted away from Lan Yamei. Lan Yamei simply nodded in acknowledgment before going upstairs to find Qiu Zeyu.
Qiu Zeyu was still fast asleep. Looking at his quiet and handsome face, Lan Yamei began to think about herself. She didn't know if she could have a future with him, so she picked up a pen and wrote a letter, hiding it under her pillow. She worried that if that day ever came, Qiu Zeyu wouldn't be caught off guard and panicked.
She hid the letter, then rested her chin on her hand and quietly gazed at him, her eyes filled with sweet affection.
Having rushed into this era and encountered so many things, Lan Ya Mei would have suffered a lot if she hadn't met him. Now that she can finally live a stable and prosperous life, the connection to her original timeline has been restored, which makes Lan Ya Mei feel uneasy.
Just as I was lost in thought, Wang Fengyang knocked on the door, "Sister Lan, may I come in?"
"Come in, Yangyang."
The sound of someone entering woke Qiu Zeyu up.
"Master, I saw you're back, and I want to continue learning kung fu." Yangyang was very perceptive; she hadn't bothered her master during this time, only quietly doing what she could.
Qiu Zeyu stretched, his stomach rumbling. "Great! Master just got a good book. I'll practice with you." He winked at Lan Yamei and led Wang Fengyang downstairs.
After the two went downstairs, Lan Yamei felt like smoking for the first time. She took out a pack of women's cigarettes from her spatial storage and smoked two before calming down. Just as she was about to close the doors and windows and go back into her spatial storage to check on Zhao Zhicheng, Tie Tou rushed up and pounded on the door. "Manager Lan, something bad has happened! A group of people have arrived. They seem unapproachable and insist on seeing you."
Lan Yamei paused, turned around and opened the door. Seeing Tie Tou's panicked eyes, she asked, "Who is it?"
Tie Tou said, "They refuse to reveal their identities, only saying they need to see you, and they know you're in the store. What should we do?"
"What's the rush? We'll deal with whatever comes our way. I'll go down and meet them." Lan Yamei said this, but she was actually panicking inside.
Downstairs, two masked men in black cloaks and straw hats stood in the hall, with a black carriage parked outside. The two men gripped swords at their waists, looking menacing.
Upon seeing the burly man leading a slender girl down, he paused for a moment before regaining his composure and, with a clear and articulate voice, clasped his hands in greeting, saying, "You must be Manager Lan. We have been ordered to come and fetch you to Xiangyang."
Speaking of Xiangyang, one cannot help but mention Qi Qiuping and his wife, who were mistakenly killed by treacherous officials at the gate yesterday. A thought lingered in my mind: could it be that someone from that side has come to cause trouble? So I asked, "Who sent you?"
"There's no need for Manager Lan to know this. The carriage outside has been waiting for a long time. Please come with us." He then gestured for them to proceed.
"Are you kidding me? You think I'll just go with you because you say so? Who do you think you are?" Tie Tou angrily turned around, took out his Moon Banquet Nine-Ringed Saber from behind the counter, and was ready to fight them.
The newcomer was not afraid, and simply said coldly, "Manager Lan, our leader says the egg tarts are delicious!"
Egg tart! Lan Ya Mei immediately understood, turned to Tie Tou and said, "Tie Tou, it's an old friend. I'll be right back, don't worry, it's safe." After saying that, she turned and followed the person into the carriage, and the group of people immediately left.
The female staff were terrified, some even trembling. Tie Tou could only offer a few words of comfort before hurrying off to find Master Qiu by the river outside the city.
As soon as Lan Yamei entered the sedan chair, she saw a handsome young man sitting inside, about the same age as herself.
"Who are you?" Lan Ya Mei asked as she sat down.
"You're Lan Ya Mei? You can make egg tarts?" The person didn't answer the question, but asked instead.
Lan Yamei frowned as she looked at the strange-looking young man. "Get to the point. Stop playing tricks. I'm busy!"
"Okay, then I'll get straight to the point. Zhang Song from Lanzhou, China, I want to eat ramen, do you have any?" The man dropped his pretense and looked pleading, like a foodie with a hungry expression.
Lan Yamei chuckled, "You're from Lanzhou?"
Zhang Song lowered his guard. "To be honest, that's right. Yesterday, when you were able to bring out egg tarts and cream puffs, I knew you were just like me, so I specially asked to meet you out to talk today."
Both of them burst into laughter. Lan Yamei was generous and took out instant noodles and Lanzhou ramen from her spatial storage and gave them to him.
Zhang Song was filled with envy. "It's so unfair! Why can you bring a spatial ability while I have nothing! Heaven is jealous of talent! Heaven is jealous of talent!"
"You're hilarious! Look how well you're doing, leading a few pretty intimidating brothers and scaring my manager half to death! What are you jealous of?"
"Quick, give me a bottle of beer, I'm so craving it." Zhang Song chewed on instant noodles, looking utterly satisfied, and then reached for a drink.
"Then tell me, what's your situation? How did you get here?" Lan Yamei asked curiously, wondering why there were so many people who had transmigrated.
"Sigh! It's a long story! I was clubbing at a nightclub when the police raided the place. In a panic, I jumped off a building, and when I woke up, I was here. It all happened six years ago!" Zhang Song took the Tsingtao beer, downed it in one gulp, let out a burp, and looked satisfied. "It's so good! This is exactly the taste! Can I have another one?"
Lan Yamei handed her another can of beer and asked, "Isn't a police check normal? What's the point of running away from clubbing?"
"Ugh! It's all my fault. I ate something I shouldn't have. You know, I regret it so much. Before, all I knew was drinking, clubbing, chasing girls, and asking my family for money. When I first came here, I almost starved to death because I didn't know anything." Zhang Song kept complaining, as if he had finally found his people.
Bored out of his mind, Zhao Zhicheng said, "Goodness, I have another fellow sufferer! Let him come in and keep me company."
Lan Yamei said, "Okay, I'll ask him and see if he's willing."
"Who are you talking to? What do you mean by 'willing' or 'unwilling'?" Zhang Song thought Lan Yamei was mentally unstable and talking nonsense.
After Lan Yamei gave a brief explanation, Zhang Song said enviously, "He's so lucky, he's like Mickey Mouse living in a granary."
He actually compared himself to a mouse, which infuriated Zhao Zhicheng, who kept urging him, "Make sure he comes in and becomes Mickey Mouse too."
"How have you survived all these years?" Lan Yamei asked.
"I am skilled in music; to put it nicely, I am a musician; to put it bluntly, I am just a street performer. These people today are all my apprentices, in the same line of work as me. Please don't be angry if I have offended you today; I am mainly afraid that I am too insignificant to speak with you in person."
"I understand, I understand, everyone has their struggles." Seeing how much he was enjoying his food, Lan Ya Mei knew how homesick he was, so she asked, "Do you want to go back?"
"I want to! But how do I get back? Do you have any connections?"
"Hmm, maybe!"
"Take me with you, take me with you!" Zhang Song was so excited he almost knelt down, his face full of anticipation.
