Chapter 21 Entering the City with Qiu Zeyu

After seeing Er Gou's family off, Butterfly told Lan Ya Mei about Murong Bai's letter, asking Lan Ya Mei to help her exchange for silver notes.

"It's nothing, I'll take care of it in a bit. But are you really sure you want to go?" Lan Yamei was a little reluctant to part ways.

"My dream is to find a place with Bai Lang and grow old together." Butterfly sorted through the delivered goods and said softly, "I was born in Hua Man Lou and have a lowly status. I am fortunate to have met Bai Lang in this life. I am willing to go anywhere with him. I would not hesitate to go through fire and water."

In Lan Yamei's mind, there was no such thing as a butterfly in love. She admired him and said, "It's good that you go out and hide for a while. You are welcome to come back anytime if you have any difficulties. Aunt Guan and I have always been people you can rely on, as well as Young Master Qiu."

The butterfly's eyes filled with tears, and it nodded.

Without further ado, Qiu Zeyu came out with the ten thousand taels of silver notes given to him by Butterfly and said, "Let's go!"

Qiu Zeyu overheard their conversation. He had originally planned to ambush Murong Bai on the way, considering it a reward for his mission. However, after spending two days with Butterfly Girl, he found himself hesitant to kill her and decided to let her go for now.

The two drove towards Longyang Town, and Lan Yamei kept yawning along the way.

Looking at the petite girl, Qiu Zeyu suggested, "Why don't we open a shop in the city? That way we can extend our business hours and avoid having to travel back and forth."

Lan Yamei, afraid that Qiu Zeyu would run away, tugged at her sleeve and said while dozing off, "Even a hero can be brought down by a penny. If I really had money, I would have opened a shop long ago."

Qiu Zeyu said mischievously, "Don't we have ten thousand taels now?"

Lan Yamei shuddered. "Hey! You better give up on that idea. This is Butterfly's food money for her escape. We can't take advantage of her. She's saved up for so many years, it wasn't easy! Now she's free, and she's finally found the love she's been longing for. We can't be heartless obstacles, especially you." Lan Yamei was really afraid that Qiu Zeyu would be greedy for money, and she was powerless to stop him.

"I'm more worried that you'll be greedy for money!" Qiu Zeyu said, driving the carriage. "I have some money, I can invest in your shop." He had only worked with her for one day and was already so tired that he wanted to run away. He didn't know how this thin girl had managed to persevere all these years.

"Really? You're not kidding me? How much is it?" Lan Yamei asked excitedly.

"Enough to buy you a shop, do you want to do it?"

"Yes, yes, yes! I'm so incredibly lucky to have met such wonderful people like you and Aunt Guan." Lan Yamei immediately promised, "I'll make sure you make money! I'll provide the technology, you provide the location, and we'll be bosses together, how about it?" Getting on Qiu Zeyu's good side is still Lan Yamei's top priority right now; if he's willing to invest money, he definitely won't run away.

"Okay, whatever you say goes. Shall we go to town to check out some shops later?" Qiu Zeyu looked at the adorable, silly girl and, for some reason, wanted to help her.

"Hehe...I'm rich!"

The two walked around and happened to find a shop for sale. It had three floors and three storefronts on the main street.

Upon inquiry, it turned out that there was a gambling addict in the family who owed money and was in a hurry to sell the house.

The location is good, right on the main street. It used to be a tea shop, and it's fully equipped with tables and chairs. They're transforming it into a barbecue restaurant, and it'll open today. Lan Yamei looked it over from top to bottom, already having a plan in mind. The first and second floors will be for business, the third floor for living. The only downside is the price—32,000 taels of silver. She wondered if Young Master Qiu had that much money.

The house was for urgent sale, but the price was high. It was worth the money, and Qiu Zeyu wanted to close the deal, but Lan Yamei stopped him and countered, "Thirty thousand taels, one price."

As expected, the two were kicked out!

Good things come to those who wait. After withdrawing the money from the bank, I drank tea at the shop across the street and kept an eye on things.

"What are you thinking about?" Qiu Zeyu asked, looking at the dazed Lan Yamei. This girl was quirky and always had some strange ideas.

“I estimate we can definitely sell it for 30,000. Think about it, this man is a gambling addict. Everyone who came to look at the shop today is trying to get a bargain price. They'll take it if they can, and it's not a big deal if they can't. Nobody's in a hurry. Only we're really in a hurry. He'll definitely sell it to us.” After Lan Yamei finished speaking, she seemed to remember something and asked, “Do you have enough money?”

"Enough! Not to mention 30,000 taels, I could have 300,000 taels." Qiu Zeyu didn't hide anything, took a sip of tea, and said calmly.

"So rich! My God! He's young, promising, handsome, and wealthy. He's the perfect husband God has arranged for me! May I ask, sir, are you ready to marry him?" Lan Yamei's little calculations were going on and on, and Qiu Zeyu could hear them even through her belly.

"What do you mean?" This woman, is she going to come again?

"Hehe, what do you think of me, young master?" Lan Ya Mei said, blinking her eyes, feeling quite pleased with herself.

Qiu Zeyu covered the other person's flirtatious eyes with his fan and said, "Pay back on time and be an honest person."

"cut!"

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the shop across the street, and the two of them quickly got up to go and see what was going on.

"You think you can take my shop for 20,000 taels? Are you crazy? Get out of here!" The man, holding a broom, chased the couple out.

"The 20,000 taels is only because we're from the same hometown. Your shop is dilapidated and old, and I don't know how much it will cost to repair. Times have changed. Don't you even know what year it is now? You still want to sell it for 32,000!" The man clapped his hands and said angrily.

"Let's not sell then. There are plenty of other people selling houses. Let's go. He'll be begging us for a ride later." The woman who bought the house pulled her husband away with a look of disgust. "I'm even worried about the feng shui of this house."

"Get out of here! I'm from the same hometown as you, and my father even helped you for years. Now that you're successful, I don't care about helping you anymore. Instead, I'm kicking you when you're down. What a despicable person!" The landlord was so angry that his face turned ashen, and his hand holding the broom trembled slightly.
