Chapter 107 Little Tiger Cub

As darkness fell, the group had no choice but to begin searching for a suitable place to spend the night.

This time, camping in the wild was far less pleasant than the last time. In these deep mountains and forests, the guys were most afraid of wild animals.

However, the matter was already settled, and there was no other way to deal with it. The group could only console themselves that at least they had a number of people and weapons. If a wild animal really came, there would be nothing they could do but add more food to their meal.

Uncle Zhao and his men set up more than a dozen tall bonfires and surrounded the two tents, hoping to scare away any wild animals that might appear.

Perhaps it was a blessing from heaven, but the night passed relatively peacefully.

The next day, as soon as it was light, everyone woke up one after another, and no one had the desire to stay in bed any longer.

Just as the men were packing up, Min Yueqing suddenly noticed some slight movements coming from the bushes to her side. Curious, she wanted to go and investigate.

When Pei Ji saw Min Yueqing about to leave, he immediately followed her, and even stuffed his little hand into Min Yueqing's hand, afraid that she would leave without saying goodbye again.

Min Yueqing felt guilty and remained silent. She thought that since the baby was nearby, she hadn't really planned to bring the little one along.

The closer they got to the bushes, the more obvious the rustling sounds became. Min Yueqing tiptoed forward, trying not to make any unnecessary noise. The little cub noticed her movements and unconsciously slowed its pace as well.

The two carefully moved to the side of the bushes, and Min Yueqing was immediately charmed when she saw the little creature in the bushes.

There, lying in the grass, was a furry little animal that looked a bit like a cat at first glance. Its fur was black and white stripes, with more black. It was small in size and was shivering, whether from the cold or something else.

Min Yueqing lovingly picked up the little guy, whose body seemed to be shrouded in mist. She couldn't help but stroke the little guy's back to wipe away the cold water droplets, and also removed the leaves and grass clippings one by one.

Min Yueqing turned the little creature over in her hands, finally getting a clear look at its front. But after seeing its face, she couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. This wasn't a kitten at all; it was clearly a big cat, with a "king" on its head!

Min Yueqing felt a rare sense of unease. Keeping it around seemed unsafe for others, but she was also reluctant to let it go back to the mountains, since she loved this fierce, furry creature the most.

Besides, this little tiger doesn't seem to have its mother with it. If it's left alone in the mountains, who knows if it won't encounter danger? It can't even open its eyes yet. If it's left in the mountains, even if it doesn't starve to death, it will be eaten by other wild animals, and they might even complain that there's not enough meat.

Just as Min Yueqing was hesitating, the little tiger in her hand stirred again. Min Yueqing looked down and saw that the little tiger in her hand had slowly opened its eyes.

As soon as the little tiger opened its eyes, it stared at her intently, its pure black-gold eyes filled with dependence and affection, as if it regarded her as its own mother.

Under such an irresistible gaze, Min Yueqing's wavering mind instantly settled. She decided to raise the little tiger cub, even if she had to be more careful in the future.

Pei Ji saw his mother staring intently at the small animal and gently holding it in her arms, and he immediately felt a little jealous. "Mother, what is it? A kitten?"

Min Yueqing told the truth, "No, it's a little tiger."

Pei Ji was startled and quickly said, "Mother, tigers can eat people!"

Min Yueqing gently patted the little tiger in her hand before saying, "It's so small now, it won't eat people. Look, it couldn't find its mother right after it was born, so it's lying all alone in the grass. How pitiful."

There was no other way; the little tiger couldn't speak, so Min Yueqing had to play the victim for it.

Upon hearing that the tiger cub couldn't find its mother, Pei Ji was instantly moved. His expression softened, and he hesitated, asking, "Then... what should we do?"

Taking the opportunity, Min Yueqing suggested, "Shall we help it? Once it grows up and is able to survive independently in the mountains, we can release it back."

Pei Ji was always soft-hearted, and after Min Yueqing said that, he also began to worry that the little tiger wouldn't be able to survive alone in the mountains. After hesitating for a while, he finally nodded.

Min Yueqing immediately squatted down and kissed the little one, praising, "Lele is so brave!"

Min Yueqing cradled the tiger cub in her left hand and lifted the little one in her right, feeling utterly content with her newfound happiness. A cute, fluffy creature in her left arm, a cute little cub in her right—could there be anything more blissful?

Pei Ji was forced to face the tiger cub. Upon closer inspection, he couldn't help but find the black and white tiger cub quite adorable, and its eyes were truly beautiful.

Not only were they large, but they were also exceptionally clear, with most of their eyes being pure black, only the edges tinged with a light gold.

Pei Ji was astonished when he saw the tiger cub's forehead. He couldn't help but whisper in Min Yueqing's ear, "Mother, no wonder the book says the tiger is the king of beasts, it really does have the character 'king' on its forehead!"

The black stripes on the tiger cub's forehead form a perfect "king" shape.

Seeing the little cub's surprised expression as if he had discovered a major secret, Min Yueqing whispered in agreement, "Yes, this little tiger will definitely grow up to be a tall and mighty king of beasts."

That would be so impressive! Pei Ji agreed, "Yes! Definitely."

Unfortunately, despite being watched by two pairs of eager eyes who wish it could grow up instantly, the little tiger is still just a small and weak cub, even with a slightly childish voice.

After opening its eyes, the tiger cub seemed to regain a little vitality, and its trembling gradually stopped. Its little head rested on Min Yueqing's arm, and it stared intently at Min Yueqing, even letting out a weak "ah".

Min Yueqing guessed that the little guy was hungry, so she quickly walked towards the carriage.

Shi Tou had just been helping the others pack up the tents, and the luggage was almost all arranged. He looked up and saw Min Yueqing walking over.

Shi Tou felt like he was seeing things. Even from a distance, he felt that his master was not only holding Pei Ji with his right hand, but also seemed to be holding something with his left hand.

He took off running towards Min Yueqing, and when he got closer, he saw that Min Yueqing was holding a furry little animal on her left arm.

Stone couldn't help but take a closer look at the little guy, thinking to himself, "You're so lucky to be held in your master's arms."

Upon seeing the "King" on the little guy's head, Stone instantly lost his composure.

When he was in the village, he would go out to play with his friends. The first thing they told him was not to go too deep into the mountains, but only to play on the small hills on the outskirts.

Because there are many large wild animals in the deep mountains, the most dangerous of which is the tiger. Tigers are also very easy to identify; just look at whether there is a "king" symbol on their heads.
