Chapter 161 Tasting

Seeing that the little boy had volunteered, Min Yueqing naturally wouldn't discourage him.

She lifted the little boy up by the waist with one arm, placed him on a stool, and handed him the small knife, solemnly instructing him: "Grip the handle tightly, never let go, and don't point the blade at your body, understand?"

Pei Ji listened obediently and replied, "Mother, I've remembered everything."

Min Yueqing nodded in satisfaction and instructed, "First, use a knife to scoop some cream from the bowl and spread it on the side of the cake, then smooth the cream out."

Pei Ji had been watching Min Yueqing for a while and was quite familiar with the process, but he was inevitably a little nervous doing it himself. Although he knew exactly how to do each step, his hands were a bit uncooperative; he would either pick up too little cream or pick up too much and drop it on the table.

Fortunately, Pei Ji was always patient. Although he suffered repeated setbacks, he was not discouraged and showed no signs of anxiety. He learned from his mistakes time and time again and constantly adjusted his actions.

Min Yueqing kept a close eye on her little one, after all, what he was holding was not a toy, but a sharp real knife.

Seeing the little boy's calm and composed demeanor, Min Yueqing was filled with pride and didn't mind his slow pace at all, letting him explore at his own pace.

After Pei Ji slowly finished spreading the remaining small piece of cream on the side, Min Yueqing poured all the remaining cream from the bowl onto the top of the cake, and then held Pei Ji's hand to smooth the top together.

Pei Ji put down his knife and looked at the milky-white, columnar object before him, finding it extremely beautiful. He couldn't help but turn his head, smiling broadly at Min Yueqing.

That sweet little expression immediately won over Min Yueqing, who exclaimed, "Lele is amazing! Look how smoothly the cake surface is scraped; it's absolutely beautiful!"

Pei Ji was even happier when he saw that Min Yueqing also thought it was beautiful. At the same time, he also keenly noticed a new word, "Mother, so it's called cake!"

Min Yueqing said, "Yes, there's only one last step left, which is to put these fruits on top of the cake. Lele, would you like to try it together?"

Pei Ji readily agreed and enthusiastically started setting out the fruit with Min Yueqing.

They arranged neatly cut peach chunks and bright red raspberries on one side, the white cream contrasting beautifully with the vibrant raspberries, making it look incredibly appetizing.

Whether it was telepathy or not, at the very moment the cake was finished, a black and white furry creature scurried over.

When Min Yueqing heard the familiar footsteps, her first reaction was to remind Wu Sanniang and her daughter to stand on the inside of the kitchen. Hearing the seriousness in her tone, Wu Sanniang and her daughter instinctively stepped inside quickly.

A moment later, Xiao Wei swiftly leaped over the kitchen door and pounced at Min Yueqing's feet, nuzzling her legs with his big head.

As soon as it woke up, it realized that Min Yueqing was gone, and followed the scent all the way here.

Wu San Niang and her daughter were stunned, and felt a wave of fear: if it weren't for the timely reminder from the madam, the tiger would have leaped right past them!

Min Yueqing sighed and stroked her clingy little tiger's fur. "You've slept for so long, are you hungry? Do you want to eat?"

Xiao Wei lifted his head from her lap and looked at Min Yueqing with his big, watery eyes, as if expressing his dissatisfaction at her sneaking away.

Min Yueqing awkwardly patted the back of its head again. "You're resting, aren't you? Little tigers should sleep and eat more so they can grow up quickly. Why are you always trying to cling to me?"

Then he turned to Wu San Niang and said, "Cut a piece of fresh meat and put it in its food bowl, and pour a bowl of milk over it."

Wu San Niang quickly prepared the things, and A Zhu, not wanting to make things difficult for her, followed and brought over Xiao Wei's food bowl, placing it not far from Min Yueqing's feet.

Amei and Azhu were initially a little scared, after all, Xiaowei was a man-eating tiger, not an ordinary little pet.

But as time went on, Xiao Wei never showed any aggression towards them. When he was with Min Yueqing, he was incredibly obedient and clingy, like a soft little kitten. The two of them gradually got used to seeing this little tiger every day.

Even after Serena Williams's career took off, they still held onto their initial impression and thought it was no big deal.

Xiao Wei clearly saw A Zhu's actions and recognized that it was his food bowl, but he remained unmoved, continuing to look at Min Yueqing with a wronged expression, and occasionally rubbing against her leg and making a couple of gurgling noises.

Pei Ji watched with great interest, even temporarily forgetting about the cake she had been longing for. After all, Xiao Wei was usually very arrogant, and it was rare to see him looking so aggrieved. Therefore, Pei Ji always found it an eye-opening experience and didn't want to miss a single second.

Min Yueqing gently nudged Xiao Wei with the back of her foot, "Good boy, go eat."

As she pulled her foot back, Wei shifted his body slightly to the side. As soon as she pulled her foot back, Wei immediately moved back to her original position.

Seeing that it had used another incomprehensible trick, Min Yueqing was both amused and exasperated, and could only let it rub against her legs. It was smart enough to go eat when it was hungry, but it still had the energy to act cute right now, which meant it wasn't hungry yet.

Min Yueqing said to Azhu, "Go and call Shitou over."

Now that the cake was ready, it was time for the tasting. Min Yueqing divided the cake into thirteen equal portions, and everyone in the kitchen who had helped out received a piece.

After cutting, Min Yueqing said to Wu Sanniang, "Bring thirteen plates."

Wu San Niang and Wu Yan Yan quickly carried two stacks of plates to the table. Wu Yan Yan had secretly swallowed when she saw Min Yue Qing cut the cake. With so much sugar, eggs and milk in it, it must be delicious.

Wu Yanyan stared intently at the cake on the table, reluctantly retreating from the table.

Seeing that Min Yueqing was personally cutting the cake, Amei quickly took out another knife and stepped forward, saying, "Miss, let me do it."

The task wasn't difficult, so Min Yueqing didn't refuse Amei's help.

Just then, Shi Tou ran in excitedly and said to Min Yueqing, "Master, Sister A Zhu said you made something delicious again!"

Min Yueqing smiled and glanced at him, "You've come at the perfect time, we can eat right away."

After the cake was divided, Min Yueqing called out, "Everyone come and get yours, there's one for everyone."

Wu San Niang and her daughter, along with their companions, exchanged bewildered glances, wondering if there was something wrong with their ears.

This was made by the lady herself, can we eat it too?

The lady didn't let us leave; isn't there still work for us to do?

They thought about this and that, but none of them dared to step forward and take it.
