Chapter 190 Wild Grapes

Xiao Bing had heard many people say that Madam Pei was exceptionally beautiful, but he had never seen her in person. This time, he finally had the chance, so he mustered up his courage and took a few more glances. After seeing her, he was stunned.

The soldier secretly clicked his tongue in amazement; there really were people with such stunning beauty in the world. Madam Pei's skin was as white as snow, and her eyebrows and eyes were indescribably beautiful, making him dare not look directly at her.

And the child she was holding must be Lord Pei's only son, who looked like a little fairy, pure and lovely.

The soldier couldn't help but sigh inwardly: indeed, a child's appearance is inherited from his parents. Lord Pei and his wife are handsome, and their child is also exquisitely beautiful.

As they exited the school gate, Min Yueqing asked the little one in her arms, "Want to get down and wander around? If not, we'll have to go back."

Pei Ji tilted his head and pondered for a moment before nodding. Although his mother's embrace was very comfortable, he couldn't resist wanting to run around outside with Shi Tou since it was a rare opportunity to get out.

Min Yueqing put the little boy down on the ground and gently stroked his hair: "Go play."

Seeing this, Shi Tou was overjoyed and immediately said to Pei Ji, "Young Master, let's go over there. Look, there are wild grapes over there!"

Pei Ji asked doubtfully: "Mountain grape?"

Pei Ji had eaten grapes, but he had never heard of wild grapes, let alone that there were still wild fruits to pick on the mountain in early winter.

When Shi Tou arrived, he had already noticed the wild grapevines in the woods by the roadside and had been secretly drooling. However, since Min Yueqing didn't say anything, he didn't dare to suddenly run far away.

Now that Min Yueqing had told them to go play, Shi Tou called out to Pei Ji and then ran ahead into the woods, glancing back to see if Pei Ji was following.

Pei Ji looked at Min Yueqing as if seeking her opinion, and Min Yueqing said, "Go ahead, we'll wait for you here."

Pei Ji then chased after the stone.

To add an extra layer of protection, Min Yueqing patted Xiao Wei and pointed in Pei Ji's direction. Xiao Wei, being quick-witted, immediately understood and followed.

Min Yueqing found a clean, large rock nearby and sat down. To maintain her persona, she sat very elegantly this time and even greeted Pei Han, "Sit down, they'll probably play for a while."

The weather was great today, with plenty of sunshine, so even though it was early winter, I didn't feel cold sitting on the big rock.

Pei Han didn't think there was anything unseemly about Min Yueqing sitting on the rock, and naturally walked over and sat down next to her.

Min Yueqing smiled as she looked towards the direction of the wild grape tree. Pei Ji and Shi Tou ran to the tree and were reaching out to pull down the lower branches, while Xiao Wei happily circled around the wild grape tree.

Little Serena doesn't particularly like wild grapevines; she's simply happy when she's in the woods.

When Pei Han saw his son actually cooperating with Shi Tou to pick wild fruits in a pretty good manner, he couldn't help but be a little surprised. He teased Min Yueqing, "Lele's movements look quite convincing. He really is a gifted person!"

Min Yueqing couldn't help but laugh and explained, "When we were in the capital, we stayed at the manor for a while, and Lele went fruit picking with the manor's children."

Pei Han then realized what was going on and laughed, "No wonder, I thought our son was just naturally good at doing things."

Min Yueqing immediately chimed in, "That's not wrong. Lele is indeed naturally clever and quick-witted."

Seeing Min Yueqing's matter-of-fact "My son is the best" expression, Pei Han immediately and wisely agreed, "Yes, Lele has been clever since he was little, and he's even more outstanding now."

Min Yueqing gave Pei Han a satisfied look.

In Min Yueqing's opinion, her little darling is perfect in every way, and no amount of praise is too much.

Pei Han finally realized that his wife's heart was completely biased. Her son was obviously her precious treasure, and even he, her own father, could not say a bad word about their son in front of her.

At the same time, it's quite simple to make your wife happy; just praise your son and you're good to go.

Not far away, Pei Jigang picked a bunch of wild grapes and said to Shi Tou, "Shi Tou, these wild grapes are so small, much smaller than regular grapes!"

Even amidst his busy schedule, Shi Tou turned back to explain, "All mountain grapes are like this. Don't let their small size fool you; they're incredibly sweet! Try one if you don't believe me."

Pei Ji tried one with some skepticism, and after biting into it, he exclaimed in surprise, "It's really sweet!"

Stone said proudly, "Sweet, isn't it? When I was little, I often went to the mountains with others to pick wild grapes!"

Just then, Xiao Wei wandered over to Pei Ji's feet, and Pei Ji held the wild grape branch in his hand closer to Xiao Wei, asking very earnestly, "Xiao Wei, do you want some?"

After spending so much time together, Xiao Wei's wariness of Pei Ji wasn't as strong as it had been at the beginning. Seeing Pei Ji's actions, it didn't instinctively run away, but simply turned its head away haughtily.

Pei Ji assumed that Xiao Wei didn't like eating wild fruits, so he had no choice but to give up.

However, after tasting how sweet the wild grapes were, Pei Ji's enthusiasm increased significantly. He wanted to pick more to take back for Min Yueqing and Pei Han to eat.

There were many wild grapes on the tree, but some branches grew quite high, so Shi Tou helped pull down the branches for Pei Ji to pick.

After picking for a while, the two of them couldn't carry any more in their hands, and Pei Ji said, "Stone, let's go back."

Shi Tou looked at the wild grapevines with a hint of reluctance. In the past, he and his friends in the village would take off their clothes and use them to hold the wild grapes, which allowed them to hold a lot.

But now Stone felt that the clothes he was wearing were too nice, and he was reluctant to use such nice clothes to store the wild grapes, since clothes stained with wild grape juice were very difficult to wash.

After a fierce internal struggle, Shi Tou still followed Pei Ji back home, turning back every few steps.

As soon as Pei Ji ran closer, he handed the wild grapes in his hand to Min Yueqing and Pei Han, excitedly recommending, "Mother, Father, these wild grapes are so sweet, you should try them!"

Min Yueqing did as instructed and took a bunch of wild grapes from the little one. She picked one, tasted it, and praised with a smile, "It's really sweet! Lele is great, you picked so many!"

Pei Ji immediately raised her little face proudly and said happily, "Then Mother, eat more. Here, all of this is for Mother."

Min Yueqing readily accepted the bunches of wild grapes from the little one's hands, then reminded him, "Children's stomachs are weak, so eat less now. Take them home, wash them, and then eat them, okay?"

Pei Ji nodded obediently.

Although Shi Tou had eaten a lot of unwashed wild fruits when he was a child and nothing bad had happened, he still obediently nodded along with Pei Ji when Min Yueqing said so.

Seeing that Min Yueqing was ignoring it, Xiao Wei gently nudged Min Yueqing's leg.

Min Yueqing deliberately lowered her head and teased, "What's wrong? You want to try some wild grapes too?"

As he spoke, he offered a bunch of wild grapes to Wei's lips.
