Hearing the commotion in the kitchen, Aunt Li guessed what had happened. Last night, when she took her two daughters-in-law to collect the dishes, Shi Tou spoke to her alone, which startled her. When she learned that he wanted to pass a message to Mao Mao, Aunt Li was both amused and exasperated.

Mao Mao's mother said with a smile, "What are you going to do this afternoon? You are all so clean. It would be great if you could be like this every day."
Upon hearing this, Da Shu thought his aunt was about to start lecturing again, so he quickly chimed in, "Let's go pick some fruit. Everyone needs to eat it, so it has to be clean, right?"
After saying that, he grabbed his two younger cousins and ran off in a flash.
Maomao's mother could easily see through their little scheme. Seeing that they had deliberately gone away, she didn't say anything more.
