Although she didn't have either of these things at home, she had seen them in shops in town.

Liu Xiaoliu got excited as soon as she heard the word "sugar," and felt that the stewed meat in her mouth tasted even better. She puffed out her cheeks and chewed noisily.

The family of eight ate until their bellies were round, and looking down, they were surprised to find a considerable amount of meat still left on the table—a truly unprecedented occurrence. Liu Xiaoliu, the youngest, grinned broadly and exclaimed, "Wow, there'll be meat for tomorrow!"

The girls in the Liu family were a little older, but the oldest was only thirteen. Upon hearing this, they couldn't help but grin.

The children, thinking about having meat to eat when they woke up tomorrow, all felt that their dreams tonight would be filled with the aroma of meat.
