The shopkeeper quickly replied, "Sell? I'm not selling this shop!"
"Then we'll rent it."
An Dafu said from the side.
The shopkeeper thought for a moment and said, "If you want to rent it, the monthly rent is three taels of silver. If you pay for one or two years, I'll give you a discount."
I heard it could be cheaper.
An Wanwan immediately asked, "How much cheaper is it per month if I rent for a year? How much cheaper if I rent for two years? And if I rent for three years or more, will it be even cheaper?"
Regarding the rent.
The shopkeeper had already thought it through.
"You can rent for a maximum of two years. If you rent for two years, you will receive two taels of silver and five hundred copper coins per month. If you rent for one year, you will receive two taels of silver and eight hundred copper coins per month."
An Wanwan asked, "Can we look around?"
"Can!"
The shopkeeper led An Wanwan and the others inside.
The backyard wasn't big, but it had everything you needed: a latrine, a well, a living room, and a storage room.
Everything was cleaned up.
An Wanwan was quite satisfied with the hygiene aspects.
Rent the shop.
An Wanwan and the others started packing.
They were all diligent, and they finished cleaning up in no time.
Next came buying supplies and choosing an auspicious day to open the business.
As An Wanwan and the others were leaving, a carriage drove up from the side.
"Lady, please wait..."
An Wanwan was about to get into the carriage when she suddenly heard someone call her. She turned around and saw that the carriage had stopped and a middle-aged man dressed as a steward had gotten out.
Who is he?
An Wanwan told An Dafu and the others to wait for her in the carriage. She then turned to the man and asked, "Uncle, were you calling me just now?"
"right!"
The middle-aged man replied, "My name is Qiu Hai, and my master wishes to see you."
That's direct enough.
An Wanwan raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who is your master?"
"Let's talk over there."
Qiu Hai walked to a secluded corner before telling the truth: "My master is the current Prince Rong, who is also the emperor's eldest son."
The Emperor's eldest son is looking for her?
An Wanwan felt that this matter was related to Li Fengyu, and she refused without hesitation: "Sorry, I can't go. I have things to do."
"You don't want anything to happen to your third brother, do you?"
Qiu Hai asked with a smile.
Damn it!
An Wanwan told An Dafu and the others to go home, and she left with Qiu Hai.
Three-quarters of an hour later.
The carriage stopped in front of a house outside the city.
"Lady Wan, please!"
Qiu Hai led An Wanwan into the house.
As An Wanwan walked, she peered around from the shadows. Not seeing many people, she shook hands and continued walking.
This house is a two-entrance, two-exit house.
They soon arrived at the second courtyard.
In the pavilion of the second courtyard sat a middle-aged man dressed in a white robe. An Wanwan noticed him as soon as she entered the second courtyard because he was playing the zither there.
"You're here, come on over."
The middle-aged man greeted him.
An Wanwan stepped forward, and as she got closer, she could see his face clearly. As expected of a member of the royal family, he was still quite good-looking even at his age.
Her sword-like eyebrows slanted upwards towards her temples, her facial features were sharply defined, and her hands were slender, fair, and perfectly proportioned.
As An Wanwan sized him up.
The middle-aged man was also sizing her up. Before she could say anything, he spoke first: "No wonder Li Fengyu took a liking to you. You are indeed quite good-looking."
"You are also good-looking, but it's a pity you've gotten old."
An Wanwan sat down.
The middle-aged man was not angry. He opened his mouth and said, "My name is Li Shenrong. You don't need to be so hostile towards me. I met you here to form an alliance, not to harm you."
"An alliance?"
