Feng Ba was taken aback for a moment and then said, "I'll accept it. Let me guard the gate of the North Camp."
To be honest, he was still a little uncomfortable with An Wanwan calling him that.
An Wanwan was not surprised by this result, after all, they were still not entirely at ease with them.
"Do it well."
Just as An Wanwan finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.
They exchanged a glance.
Feng Ba went to open the door and saw a woman in her thirties carrying a basket.
He asked, "Big sister, is there anything I can help you with?"
The woman, with a smile in her eyes, said, "My name is Liu Damei. We live at the foot of the mountain not far from your village. I often see you coming and going in our village, so I'm curious and came to ask. Did you move to our village from somewhere else?"
"Um!"
Feng Ba nodded.
Liu Damei then asked, "Are you husband and wife?"
"no."
"She is my sister."
Feng Bamian remained unfazed as he replied to her.
It's my younger sister.
Very good!
Liu Damei pulled back the cloth covering the basket and took out half a chicken: "It's not easy for you to get out here. Take this half chicken and stew it for yourselves."
Offering help for no reason is hardly unusual; there must be a problem.
Feng Ba refused without hesitation: "Everyone has their own difficulties, how can we accept your chicken? Take it back."
Are you looking down on me?
Liu Damei insisted that Feng Ba accept it.
Feng Ba had no choice but to call An Wanwan out.
When An Wanwan came out, Feng Ba was still refusing, telling Liu Damei to take the chicken back.
Liu Damei caught a glimpse of An Wanwan coming out and stared at her, finding that she was even more beautiful up close.
Her eyes lit up as she said, "Girl, your brother is too kind. I offered you chickens, but he absolutely refused to accept them..."
"It really shouldn't have been accepted."
After An Wanwan finished speaking, she said slowly, "First of all, we're not very familiar with each other, and secondly, chickens aren't ordinary things. How could I accept something so valuable from you when we've just met?"
Without saying a word, she stuffed the chicken back into Liu Damei's basket.
Seeing that An Wanwan was determined not to accept the money, Liu Damei was afraid that she had gone too far and would make them resentful, so she didn't bother with them any further.
"Okay, okay, I'll take it back then."
I watched Liu Damei walk away.
Close the door.
Feng Ba said to An Wanwan, "Wanwan, be careful when I'm not home. Although I know you're capable, some people use methods we can't even imagine..."
"I already told you to call me sister."
"I know what you're saying, I'll be careful."
An Wanwan looked at Feng Badao.
The two chatted for a few more minutes before An Wanwan went to make lunch. For lunch today, she planned to make braised pork buns, fresh pork buns, and plain rice porridge.
Both Feng Ba and Li Fengyu are edible.
An Wanwan made quite a lot, steaming two large baskets full. She packed some of each, along with the porridge, and had Feng Ba eat them before sending them to Li Fengyu.
The steamed buns smelled delicious, but Li Fengyu can't keep eating things that don't have much nutrition, can he?
He worked from morning till night every day, and the food at Beidaying was terrible.
How can anyone stand it?
When Feng Ba found Li Fengyu, he had just finished cutting down a tree and was moving it to one side.
"Master, you eat, I'll help you carry it."
Li Fengyu didn't stand on ceremony with Feng Ba, nor was he worried about being seen, because he came from a higher place, and no one else had come here.
I drank a few mouthfuls of hot porridge.
Li Fengyu had just started eating steamed buns. After finishing one braised pork bun, he felt much better.
"Feng Ba, how is Wanwan? Is she alright?"
