The man stroked his wound and chuckled softly; his laughter was clear and melodious.
Mu Jin frowned and asked, "What are you laughing at? What kind of poison did you just give me? Where is the antidote?"
The man said with a smile, "These are the Begonia Seven Star Needles. Once you are pierced, if there is no antidote within 12 hours, your body will slowly rot and you will die. The way you die is quite gruesome and unbearable to look at."
"You!" Mu Jin was furious! She was about to curse him, but then she figured that the man must have the antidote on him.
Mu Jin's mind raced. The man must be seriously injured and unable to harm her. Knocking him unconscious with a stone, setting a trap, and then taking the antidote would be a good idea.
Just as she was about to look for the stone, the man's voice came again, faintly.
"Brother, I advise you not to kill someone to get the medicine. The poison of the Begonia Seven Star Needle must be taken every four hours. The order of taking the medicine each time cannot be wrong. If the order is wrong, you will die on the spot."
Mu Jin clenched her fist, squinted her eyes, took a deep breath, and laughed, "I was just joking. How could I be someone who would stand by and watch someone die? Give me the antidote first, and I'll save you."
The man continued, "I'm so sorry, I'm seriously injured and I can't lift my hand at all. I can't throw the medicine up there. If you help me up, I'll give you the antidote."
Mu Jin gritted her teeth and said coldly, "Is that so? Then who was so strong just now that they could shoot such a tiny needle up so quickly?"
The man looked completely innocent: "I guess the injection just now used up all my strength. I really can't lift my arms at all now, sigh..."
At this moment, Mu Jin really wanted to end him with an arrow! Whether in the real world or in this Dongyue Kingdom, she had never been threatened before. This was the first time, and for the sake of her own life, she really couldn't do anything to him!
Mu Jin told herself, "Don't be angry, don't be angry. I'll kill him after the poison is cured."
After thinking for a moment, Mu Jin tied one end of the rope ladder to a tree stump next to her and dropped the other end into the trap.
"I've already lowered the rope ladder. Hurry up and climb up!"
The man gripped the rope ladder, slowly propped himself up, stepped onto the ladder with both feet, and grabbed the vines beside it with both hands. He said to Mu Jin, "Please help me up, brother. I really have no strength left."
Mu Jin said coldly, "I'll ask you one more time, are you going to climb up yourself or not? I'll count to three, and if you don't come up, you might as well die down here! One, two~"
Before Mu Jinsan could shout, he heard the man in the trap say quickly, "Wait, wait, I suddenly have some strength again. I'll climb up now."
After he finished speaking, the man slowly and laboriously climbed up the rope ladder.
The man climbed to the ground, breathing weakly. He looked quite badly injured, but it didn't seem like he had been injured by the trap's iron clamps. The man had multiple knife wounds on his body, and his clothes were soaked with blood. He was only wearing black silk clothes, so you couldn't tell that there was blood on his clothes unless you looked closely.
Only then did Mu Jin get a clear look at the man's face. His face was extremely pale, but even though he was in such a disheveled and weak state, Mu Jin still had to admit that this man was extremely handsome, at least in the way she liked.
But Mu Jin had no time to appreciate any of this.
Mu Jin looked at the man in front of her and thought that since he was able to enter this deep mountain, he should also know how to get out. If she could get the antidote and ask him, getting out wouldn't be difficult.
"Where did you come from to enter this forest? As far as I know, there is no way in or out of this area. Also! Can you give me the antidote now?" Mu Jin said, extending her hand to the man in front of her.
The man looked up and observed her. The person standing in front of him had delicate skin, a cold and beautiful face, and no Adam's apple! This was not the appearance of a man, nor was it someone raised in a remote mountain village. He was certain that the person standing in front of him was a woman!
The man smiled and said, "Thank you for saving my life. As you can see, I was being chased and accidentally wandered into the mountains, where I fell into your trap."
After saying that, he took out a small red pill from his inner garment and handed it to Mu Jin.
Mu Jin felt a little regretful when she heard the man in front of her say that he had also wandered into the mountains by mistake.
She swallowed the pill. It was slightly sweet and sour, and the taste seemed familiar, but she didn't think much of it and continued to hold out her hand: "Where are the other two?"
The man didn't answer, but smiled and looked at the herb basket behind Mu Jin: "Brother, do you have any herbs that can stop bleeding?"
Mu Jin glanced at him coldly, thinking that if he didn't apply the medicine to him, he probably wouldn't hand over the antidote either, so she stopped wasting words with him.
Mu Jin walked to the basket and began selecting medicinal herbs, choosing those for healing and stopping bleeding. Once everything was ready, she approached the man again.
The man in front of her was indeed badly injured. Mu Jin lifted his black robe and found that his wounds varied in severity, with the more serious ones still bleeding slightly.
If he doesn't receive treatment soon, this person won't last more than two days. If he dies, I won't be able to survive without the antidote.
There were no medical tools available, so Mu Jin had to place the herbs on a relatively flat stone, use another stone to squeeze out the juice, and then apply it to the man's wound.
As Mu Jin applied the medicine, she stood close to the man, and a fragrant and pleasant scent wafted around his nostrils.
The man observed her closely; her movements and demeanor were composed.
She was dressed in simple cloth clothes, not expensive, but the style was quite neat and sophisticated. Her slightly lowered eyes conveyed composure and calmness.
Mu Jin didn't look at him, but suddenly asked, "Have you figured anything out?"
The man smiled and leaned against the tree trunk. Despite his serious injuries, he exuded an air of otherworldly grace.
He asked, "What is your surname, sir? Where do you live? Is it close to here?"
Mu Jin snorted coldly, without responding to her name: "Why do you still want to stay at my house? I've kept my promise to save you. You give me the antidote, and we'll settle the matter. After that, we'll go our separate ways and not see each other off!"
As she spoke, Mu Jin quickly and efficiently treated all the visible bleeding wounds on his body. Finally, she said, "Hand over the antidote. After the bleeding stops, quickly leave where you came from."
The man said, "Brother, look at me, do you think I can walk away?"
Mu Jin rolled her eyes: "Then you stay here. Enough with the nonsense, hurry up and take out the antidote."
The man said, "Brother, please have mercy. I haven't eaten for two days, and I've lost so much blood that my mind is a bit sluggish. But I can tell you want to leave this mountain forest, right? If you take me away today and give me some food, I might remember the way. Then I'll take you away, okay?"
Mu Jin felt powerless in the face of the man before her! She thought to herself, "How could he possibly know that she couldn't leave this mountain forest? How infuriating!"
