Li Yansong smiled and nodded: "Not entirely. There were only two guards on duty that night. The bandit suddenly cried out that he had a stomachache. The two guards didn't check and opened the cell door to go in and see what was going on. Unexpectedly, the cunning bandit knocked them unconscious, changed into the guards' uniforms, went outside the cell to lure the other guards in, knocked them unconscious as well, changed clothes, and escaped."
Zhao Wude frowned and said, "Is it that simple?"
Li Yansong smiled awkwardly: "That's the situation I've gathered from what I understand."
"When did the magistrate of Sishui report to you? And when did you track down the fugitive?" Zhao Wude asked.
Li Yansong said, "It should be so. The day after the escaped prisoner, I received the news and sent several teams to track them down. We asked some passersby and learned that they were heading towards the capital, so we followed them."

Seeing Li Yansong's restless appearance, Zhao Wude and the clerk exchanged a glance, thinking that Li Yansong was not telling the truth and there must be something wrong.
Zhao Wude instructed the clerk to bring the confession to Li Yansong for signature: "Lord Li, as an official in the court, you understand that this is just a routine matter. If there are no problems, please sign here."
Li Yansong smiled awkwardly: "We're all officials in the same court, so there's no need for that, is there?"
After Li Yansong finished signing the document, Zhao Wude watched Li Yansong's grim face as he left and called over the yamen runners beside him.
"Send someone to follow Li Yansong to his death."
