Chapter 11 Don't Go

Mu Wan looked at the man in front of her. He was too intelligent; he could probably guess a bit of what she was thinking.

Until she got the remaining two antidotes, she really had no way to deal with him, and there were only twelve hours left! After twelve hours, her poison was cured, and she vowed to make him suffer!

Mu Jin reluctantly helped the man to his feet. The man was very heavy, and Mu Jin had difficulty walking with his help.

Although Mu Jin had been training for a year and had no shortage of food and clothing, she was even stronger than the farm women who worked year-round.

At 165 cm tall, Mu Jin was considered extremely tall for a woman in the Eastern Yue Kingdom, but the man in front of her was at least 186 cm tall, which made Mu Jin feel a little overwhelmed.

She held back for a moment and said, "Are you doing this on purpose? Don't you have bones in your body? Why do you have to put all your weight on me?"

The man, seemingly unperturbed, said, "I'm sorry to trouble you, brother. It was not my intention. Please bear with my injuries a little longer."

Mu Jin cursed under her breath a few more times. She felt that arguing with him any longer would only make her angrier, so she stopped talking and gritted her teeth as she helped the man walk with difficulty toward the valley.

As they approached the valley, the village looked out from the mountain into the darkness. At this time, most of the people who had worked all day in the valley were asleep, except for her bamboo house, which still had a light on. It must have been left on for her by Granny Lai.

Mu Jin did not want to take the man back to the valley. She arranged for him to stay in the cave where she had first led everyone to the valley. The cave had been uninhabited for a long time and lacked human presence, but it was still a good place for people to rest.

Looking at the injured and mysterious man, Mu Jin suddenly felt a pang of regret. Why had she brought him back to the valley so easily? What if she had attracted his enemies and dragged everyone into trouble?

Mu Jin immediately asked, "Are your enemies still in that forest?"

The man smiled somewhat slyly: "I mean, isn't it a bit too late for you to ask this question now?"

Seeing Mu Jin's icy expression, the man immediately decided to stop while he was ahead: "They're all dead, all of them are dead, brother, don't worry."

Mu Jin's complexion improved slightly.

“You can only stay in this cave and can’t go out. Even if your enemies don’t catch up, the people in the mountains will find you. I don’t want you to disrupt the lives of the people in this valley.”

After saying that, Mu Jin left behind the leftover baked flatbread and water she had brought into the mountain that morning, and asked the man for the second antidote she needed to take the next morning. Then she turned to leave.

Seeing that she was about to leave, the man grabbed her sleeve and said, "Brother, don't go!"

Mu Jin pulled her clothes back and glanced back at him. Moonlight streamed in from the cave entrance, illuminating him. The smile on his lips made him look like a bewitching enchantress.

Mu Jin looked at the man expressionlessly and said, "If I don't leave, am I supposed to stay and serve you?"

"Look at me, covered in wounds, with no one to serve me. What if I die of a high fever in the middle of the night?" the man asked.

Mu Jin sneered emotionlessly: "Then it's God's opinion that you've had enough of living. Just take it easy. Remember to leave me the third antidote before you die. Thanks."

After finishing her sentence, Mu Jin turned around and left without looking back.

Seeing that she was really about to leave, the man called out behind her, "Hey! Sir, are you really leaving? Don't go! It's such a dark cave, I'm scared. What if there are ghosts? Hey~ what's your name?"

Mu Jin's figure quickly disappeared at the entrance of the cave.

The man half-closed his eyes, bored, thinking about Mu Jin's departing figure, and then slowly closed them again.

As Mu Jin walked, she kept thinking about how that man had actually used his charm on her! Was that man blind? Or did he have homosexual tendencies?

She had suffered too many losses at the hands of this man today, so what if he was her type?

In the real world, she has been pursued by many men in various social circles, from male college students to wealthy and powerful young men. She may occasionally play along when the mood strikes, but she has never truly stayed with anyone.

Mu Jin just wants to get rid of the poison in her body as soon as possible tomorrow, and then think about how to get revenge on the man she suffered today.

Mu Jin left the cave and returned to her bamboo house. On the dining table was a dinner that Granny Lai had kept warm with hot water. She ate a little, washed up, and lay back in bed.

She was exhausted today, lying in bed with her eyes closed, thinking about the identity of the man she had saved earlier that day.

Despite the severity of his injuries, the man didn't appear too disheveled, suggesting he was no ordinary person.

It seems that since he was able to get in, he should also know the way out. Once he is cured of the poison, if he can help her find the way out, she will consider giving him less suffering.

Because today had been so exhausting, Mu Jin fell asleep very quickly.

...

The silence of the cave was broken by a series of hurried footsteps. Although the footsteps were very faint, Su Yi quickly noticed them.

Su Yi remained lying with his eyes closed on the dry grass piled up on the large rocks inside the cave.

"Your subordinate is late, please punish me, young master," knelt before Su Yi, his personal guard, Ling Feng.

"Is everything resolved?"

Su Yi still had his eyes closed, looking extremely tired.

"Yes, young master, there were 12 people in total, all of them suicide soldiers. Ling Yu has already taken care of the aftermath."

"Have you found out who's been chasing us this time?"

Ling Feng reported, "I checked the weapons they were carrying, and they are from the Southern Shu Kingdom."

"Heh~ 12 assassins, you really went all out." Su Yi said with a sneer.

Ling Feng noticed the treated wounds on Su Yi's body and asked, "Master, what about your injuries?"

Before Ling Feng could finish his question, Su Yi raised his hand to interrupt him.

"Go down to the valley and find someone. I have something to ask them, but don't disturb anyone else."

After receiving the order, Ling Feng disappeared from the cave entrance in the blink of an eye.

About 15 minutes later, Ling Feng was seen carrying a short man on his shoulder back into the cave. The man had obviously been knocked unconscious by Ling Feng.

Ling Feng took out a small medicine bottle and placed it under the man's nose. Soon the man slowly woke up.

The man, realizing that Su Yi and Ling Feng were not from the valley, instantly went weak in the knees: "Who are you? Why did you capture me and bring me here?"

As he spoke, the man scrambled back towards the cave entrance behind Ling Feng, trying to run away, but his legs were weak and he couldn't move fast at all. Soon, Ling Feng grabbed him by the back of his collar and dragged him back to Su Yi.

"It's so noisy," Su Yi said, slowly sitting up as he supported himself on the stone bed beneath him.

Ling Feng snapped at the short man in front of him, "Shut up! Answer my questions, or I'll cut your tongue out!"
