Chapter 154 Humility

Nangong Min watched Mu Jin glare angrily at Su Yi as she walked into the inn, and he squeezed Mu Jin's hand.

"Ah Jin?"

Hearing Nangong Min's voice, Mu Jin came back to her senses. She had just been angry because of Su Yi again.

Yes, it was clearly her own fault for not wanting to talk to Su Yi, but now Su Yi's attitude shows that his pride has been hurt, and he doesn't intend to bother her anymore. Isn't this exactly the outcome she wanted?

"Don't be angry, don't be angry," Mu Jin told herself. This was exactly the result she wanted.

Having figured all this out, Mu Jin turned to Nangong Min and said, "Let's go inside."

Nangong Min and Mu Jin entered the inn together, but did not see Su Yi. However, when the two reached the guest rooms on the second floor, they were surprised to find Su Yi standing in front of the door of the guest room next to Mu Jin's.

It seemed that Su Yi's room was right next to Mu Jin's, and he was about to use his room key to open the door and enter.

Mu Jin glanced at Su Yi, her thoughts still lingering on the tone of Su Yi's voice when he spoke to her a moment earlier.

Mu Jin withdrew her gaze, did not linger, and walked side by side with Nangong Min, passing by Su Yi, and headed straight for the guest room.

As the two approached Mu Jin's guest room, Su Yi just opened the door. Just as Su Yi was about to enter his own room, he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye that Mu Jin and Nangong Min walked into the guest room opposite Mu Jin's.

That room belonged to Nangong Min. The moment the door closed, Su Yi was completely stunned.

With a gloomy face, he turned and walked towards Nangong Min's guest room. An impulse surged in his heart, wanting to kick open the door and pull Mu Jin out. A man and a woman alone in a room, did he think he was dead?

But just as he was about to lift his foot, he abruptly stopped himself.

Su Yi clenched his fists and forced himself to endure it. He turned around and walked towards his guest room, slamming the door shut.

At this moment, Su Yi returned to his room, poured himself a glass of cold tea, gulped it down, and in his anger, crushed the teacup.

He was angry that Mu Jin was heartless and ungrateful to him. He was also angry that he had listened to Mu Jin's words and not gone to the General's Mansion to find Mu Jin, which led to Mu Jin and Nangong Min developing feelings for each other on the road after escaping the capital, and he lost the opportunity.

Ling Yu and Ling Feng, on the rooftop, watched their master get angry again, and both shook their heads and sighed inwardly.

Ling Feng said, "My master spoke to Miss Mu in that tone in front of the inn just now. I thought he intended to ignore Miss Mu from now on."

Ling Yu said, "I said you're just being silly. You're angry, but you were just hoping Miss Mu would coax you. You just didn't expect that Miss Mu didn't even take you seriously."

Ling Feng said, "Isn't the master even more foolish than me? Even I can see that Miss Mu and Nangong Min are deeply in love. How could she possibly consider his feelings? Isn't she just asking for trouble?"

Ling Feng sighed, "How lowly! When have we ever seen such a lowly master?"

Just as the two were about to say something more, two shards of teacup shot straight toward them. Unable to dodge in time, they both tumbled down from the eaves.

After the two of them fell heavily to the ground, they immediately got up, leaped back up, and obediently returned to the roof, not daring to utter another word.

Their master had clearly shown mercy; if they continued, their lives would likely be in real danger.

Inside Nangong Min's guest room, Mu Jin and Nangong Min chatted while drinking tea.

When will you meet with the elders tonight?

"Tonight at midnight."

"That will take a while. Would you like me to come with you?"

Nangong Min pondered for a moment, then said, "Tomorrow we will return to Nangong Shenzong together. We still have a long way to go, and you have worked hard these past few days. You don't need to wait with me tonight. Get some rest first."

Mu Jin nodded. There were still some hours before it was time to rest, and Nangong Min didn't want Mu Jin to go back to her room so soon.

He held Mu Jin's hands in both of his, chatting idly, sometimes about how they first met, and sometimes about his childhood anecdotes at the Nangong Divine Sect.

As the two were chatting, they suddenly heard a rapid knocking on the door. They exchanged a glance, and Nangong Min stood up and went to open the door.

Outside the door, Su Yi, with a carefree and unruly smile, looked towards the direction behind Nangong Min and saw Mu Jin leisurely drinking tea. Only then did he look at Nangong Min and speak.

"It's very late, and I need to retire for the night. Your loud talking is disturbing me."

Mu Jin examined the guest room. Although the room was made of wood and had poor sound insulation, Nangong Min's and Su Yi's rooms were separated by a passageway and were not in the same row.

Logically speaking, their voices shouldn't have reached Su Yi's room, so it's clear that Su Yi was deliberately picking a fight with them.

Mu Jin thought so, and so did Nangong Min.

Upon seeing Su Yi arrive in Immortal Town today, Nangong Min was actually filled with fear. As a man, how could he not see that Su Yi, like him, deeply loved Mu Jin?

But today, Mu Jin stood on his side, and he could clearly feel that Mu Jin had no interest in Su Yi, which made him feel a little more at ease.

Thinking of this, Nangong Min met Su Yi's eyes, smiled slightly, and said, "I'm really sorry to have disturbed Your Highness. Ah Jin and I will keep our voices down later."

Hearing Nangong Min panting as if he knew nothing but was confused, Su Yi's smile vanished from his lips, and his gaze instantly turned as cold as a frozen pool.

In just a moment, he regained his arrogant and unruly demeanor.

Su Yi scoffed, shoved Nangong Min aside, walked into the guest room, stared straight at Mu Jin, and said.
