Chapter 185 Encirclement

Mu Jin lay down next to Su Yi and fell into a deep sleep.

By the dim moonlight, Su Yi gazed intently at Mu Jin's sleeping face.

The soft moonlight shone on Mu Jin's face, adding a touch of mystery to her appearance.

Her delicate nose, soft lips, and long eyelashes cast faint shadows in the quiet night, falling beneath Mu Jin's straight nose.

Perhaps worried about her father and brothers, or perhaps having a nightmare, Mu Jin, fast asleep, still had a slight frown between her brows.

Looking at her, Su Yi felt an indescribable tenderness and heartache welling up in his heart.

He couldn't help but reach out and gently smooth the furrow between Mu Jin's brows.

He then pushed himself up with both hands, wanting to get closer to Mu Jin, even though it would aggravate the wound on his back, causing him to break out in a cold sweat from the pain.

Su Yi propped himself up and quietly looked at Mu Jin for a moment, finally placing a kiss on her forehead.

He murmured, "Ah Jin, when will you accept me? But whether you like it or not, you can forget about getting rid of me in this lifetime."

Su Yi fell asleep while looking at Mu Jin's sleeping face.

In the darkness, Su Yi watched a man with fair skin and a slightly heroic air between his brows, excitedly carrying a ladder, rope, and bow and arrows as he ran towards a trap.

But when the man walked to the trap and saw that it was a person instead of prey, she frowned and wanted to leave.

But before she could leave, a silver needle flew out of the trap and hit her. She was so angry that she jumped up and down, wanting to kill the man in the trap, but she was afraid of taking the antidote in the wrong order, so she had to suppress her anger and save the man from the trap.

Su Yi smiled and stood still to watch.

How could he forget that this was the scene of his first encounter with Mu Jin? Now that they met again, a gentle smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.

The day the Prince of Yun's mansion married a concubine was the second time he saw Mu Jin. It was the first time he saw Mu Jin dressed as a woman. She wore a light white dress and had gorgeous makeup. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she was stunningly beautiful.

But when she embarrassed Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian in the wedding hall and walked to the backyard, he followed her and waited for her at the rockery.

She actually remembered his appearance, yet every time she faced him, she still couldn't suppress the anger emanating from her.

At that time, he was completely bewildered. Even though Mu Jin spoke harshly to him and even hit him, he still thought she was so beautiful that he couldn't look away from her for a second.

Su Yi's smile deepened.

Su Yi didn't know when he fell in love with Mu Jin, he only knew that in order to please her, he would do whatever she wanted to vent her anger.

She thought he would feel bad if she picked out those jewels at Shuyulou, but at that time, he clearly thought that if she could just look at him, what would it matter if she emptied Shuyulou?

In order to see her, he even went to a palace banquet, which he had never wanted to attend before.

He could tell she liked eating crabs, but he had never peeled a crab himself.

However, under the pretext of peeling crabs for Su Muxue, he peeled his first crab for her.

Watching Mu Jin finish the crab he had peeled with a smile on her face, his heart softened terribly.

And so, in his dream, he watched Mu Jin practice martial arts in a snow-covered plum grove, and he saw Mu Jin's immense panic after she was kidnapped by bandits. He even saw how happy he was after she divorced Su Yuntian, so much so that he couldn't sleep for several days.

Every time I met Mu Jin, the scenes played out in my dreams.

Su Jing continued watching, completely absorbed and enjoying herself.

Mu Jin had been taking care of Su Yi for several days and was exhausted. She slept soundly until dawn, and when she opened her eyes, she saw the faint light of day streaming in through the window.

Mu Jin turned her head and saw that Su Yi had woken up at some point and was looking at Mu Jin with his beautiful peach blossom eyes and smiling.

"Good morning, Jin!"

"Good morning!" Mu Jin sat up and looked out the door.

"Ling Feng and the others returned at Chenshi (7-9 AM). They should have already cooked the meal in the kitchen. Go and have your meal first."

Mu Jin nodded after listening to Su Yi's words and walked towards the door. She had rested enough and was indeed hungry after waking up.

Ling Feng and Ling Yu waited outside the house. When Mu Jin came out of the room, they greeted her before entering Su Yi's room.

Ling Feng and Ling Yu reported to Su Yi: "Master, we went down the mountain to investigate last night and found that there were many soldiers searching for something at the foot of the mountain."

"I've learned that they're asking if any unfamiliar faces from out of town have been here. They're probably searching for Master, Miss Mu, and our whereabouts. They'll likely find their way into the mountains in a couple of days."

Su Yi sneered, "Su Yuntian is probably still camped at Black Bear Mountain right now."

Ling Yu said, "Yes, Master, I think if Master's health is still good, we should move as soon as possible."

Although it would be unsafe to rush down the mountain at this moment, since the foot of the mountain was surrounded by government troops, going out like this would undoubtedly be courting death.

But staying would be tantamount to walking into a trap.

Su Yi frowned: "Is there any other way out?"

Ling Feng and Ling Yu exchanged a glance and stammered, "There is one way, but given Master's current injuries, it's not suitable for him to take that route."

Su Yi looked at the two of them and asked, "What do you mean?"

It turned out that Su Yi had been under Mu Jin's watchful eye for the past few days, while Ling Feng and Ling Yu had explored the situation in the mountains.

They discovered a very hidden ditch, overgrown with weeds on both sides, which led down the terrain into the cave and onto the other side of the mountain.

And on the other side of the mountains lies the Huai River. "The Huai River?" Su Yi asked.

"Yes, my lord. I have arranged for the Moon Shadow Guards and prepared a boat to wait by the Huai River. I originally planned that once your wounds had healed a bit, we could dive and escape from here."

"It's just that the arrow Su Yuntian shot at you was poisoned. Although Miss Mu has done her best to help you detoxify part of the poison."

"The poison gas failed to enter your heart meridian, but due to the shortage of medicinal herbs here, several key ingredients are missing, which is why your wound, which was contaminated with the poison, has not been able to heal."

Su Yi asked, "I'm fine. Where are the Moon Shadow Guards right now?"

The Moon Shadow Guards were Su Yi's secret guards, and there were many of them, but this time he only allowed Ling Feng and Ling Yu to select a thousand men to follow him.

That night, after leading Su Yi's men to Wulan City, they split into several groups and departed in different directions. They continued on their next mission only after receiving a carrier pigeon from Ling Feng and Ling Yu.

Ling Yu said, "Judging by the time, we were already waiting by the Huai River behind the mountain last night."

"We can't wait any longer. Let's leave here immediately, get on the ship, and head to the Southern Shu Kingdom."

"Master, but what about your injury?"

Su Yi frowned: "I won't die. You guys help me call A Jin in."
