Chapter 189 Deep Affection

Half a month ago, the Moon Shadow Guards of the Yi King's Mansion received orders to go to the General's Mansion to bring Mu Jin's maid Qing'er to Immortal Town.

But when Qing'er arrived at Fairy Town, she learned that her young mistress had gone to Wulan Town with Su Yi.

After much back and forth, he finally met the young lady he had been longing for a couple of days ago with a group of Moon Shadow Guards.

When Qing'er saw Mu Jin unconscious and being held in Ling Feng's arms, she was terrified. Later, Su Yi told her that Mu Jin had just fallen asleep after not sleeping for many days, and she was relieved.

After not seeing her for more than two months, I noticed that my young lady seemed to have lost weight and her skin had darkened a bit, which made me feel very distressed.

So these past two days, after bathing Mu Jin, she applied fragrant ointment all over her body and also stewed nourishing soup for Mu Jin to drink. She was extremely busy.

While she was simmering soup in the kitchen, she overheard the Moon Shadow Guards outside whispering about Mu Jin cursing at Su Yi. That's when she realized that Mu Jin had woken up.

Qing'er immediately picked up the stewed nourishing soup and excitedly walked towards Mu Jin's room. Unexpectedly, when she opened the door, she saw Su Yi pressing Mu Jin down on the bed in an indescribably ambiguous manner.

Qing'er immediately left the room, hurriedly saying, "This servant didn't see anything."

Mu Jin turned her head and saw that Su Yi was still pressing down on her, so she said angrily, "Get off me right now!"

Su Yi smiled and stood up straight from the bed. With his beautiful peach blossom eyes curved, he instructed, "You've slept for two days, it's time to get up and have some good food to nourish your body."

Mu Jin turned his head away from her in annoyance. He smiled and walked towards the door, but Su Yi stopped in front of the door.

He turned to look at Mu Jin, speaking to her in a manner that was both a warning and a promise.

"Ah Jin, this boat is full of my men. Don't even think about jumping into the river to leave me."

"I have a compelling reason to make this trip to the Southern Shu Kingdom."

"But I assure you, I will protect your father and brothers from harm, so you need not worry. Please accompany me to the Southern Shu Kingdom, is that alright?"

Qing'er, who had been eavesdropping outside the door for most of the day, was still a little confused.

When Su Yi came out, Qing'er bowed to him.

Su Yi said, "Take good care of your young lady. I'll come to see her again later." After saying that, Su Yi left with a gentle and pleasant expression.

Seeing Su Yi walk away, Qing'er hurriedly went into the room. She put the food on the table and went to the bed to untie the blanket that was tied up around Mu Jin's body.

"Miss, what's wrong with Prince Yi? Why is he tying you up with a blanket all of a sudden? Has he bullied you?"

When Mu Jin heard Qing'er ask this question, she thought of what Su Yi had just done to her and was so angry that she wanted to go out and find Su Yi to give him a good beating.

"It's nothing, just think of him as taking the wrong medicine, there's no need to pay him any attention."

Qing'er thought for a moment and said, "This servant feels that Prince Yi is incredibly kind to Miss."

Mu Jin scoffed, "Why do you think that?"

"When they were in the capital, Prince Yi did not know that Miss was no longer in the General's Mansion. He saw that the servants went to the street every day to buy hibiscus rolls for Miss, so he assumed that Miss liked to eat snacks and specially hired a chef from Guangxin."

Mu Jin asked in confusion, "Guangxin's cook?"

Qing'er nodded repeatedly: "That's right, the chef at Guangxin is a master chef, and his pastries are absolutely superb."

"King Yi thought that the young lady liked to eat the hibiscus rolls, so he sent the chef from Guangxin to learn how to make pastries from the chef on South Gate Street."

"So, during those few days, I and the maids of Qingwan Courtyard were really blessed by Miss, as we had all kinds of snacks that we could never finish eating every day."

Mu Jin scoffed and said, "So, you were bribed by Su Yi because of those pastries?"

"No, that's not true. I genuinely believe that Prince Yi is deeply in love with Miss, which is why he has gone to such lengths to do so much for her."

"If he didn't truly love Miss, why would he personally handle such a small matter as hiring a chef to make desserts?"

"Putting aside everything else, even the fact that I was able to come to Miss's side this time was because Prince Yi sent someone to pick me up. Prince Yi could have easily hired some other maids to take care of Miss."

“But he didn’t. He was worried that Miss wouldn’t be used to using other maids, so he went to great lengths to bring me from a thousand miles away to Miss’s side.”

Mu Jin didn't take it seriously after hearing this. She took the nourishing soup that Qing'er handed her, and while drinking it, she looked around the temporary residence on the bed.

Having just woken up, I was so focused on finding Su Yi to settle scores that I didn't pay much attention to the layout of the room.

Only then did she realize that the room was quite spacious, with a window on both the east and west sides, providing ventilation and an unobstructed view of the river.

The bed itself is made of rosewood, with exquisite patterns carved on the bed frame. Silk tassels hang from the headboard, swaying gently as the breeze from the river blows in through the window, adding a touch of liveliness and grace.

The mattress was covered with thick silk, making it incredibly soft and comfortable to lie on.

There was a large couch by the window with a tea table on it, and beyond that was a screen. Through the openwork of the screen, you could see a large bathtub behind it.

Thinking of what Qing'er had just told her about Su Yi's thoughtfulness towards her, she paused for a moment, then lowered her eyes to hide her thoughts.

Having not eaten at the General's Mansion for a long time, Mu Jin ate quite a lot. Sitting in her room, she felt a little uncomfortable from the rocking of the boat.

In the present world, Mu Jin doesn't get seasick, but whether it's because of the original body or because she's been too tired lately, she feels a slight nausea. So she decides to leave her room and go to the deck of the ship for some fresh air.

The boat sailed on the Huai River. The river wind was rather strong today, and it lifted the hem of Mu Jin's skirt. Su Yi watched her quietly from behind, thinking that she was as beautiful as a blooming flower.
