As soon as Mu Jin turned around, she heard a gasp behind her. Before she could turn around to look, Su Yi grabbed her arm.
"Hey, where are you going? Why didn't you tell me before you left?"
Mu Jin turned her head, trying to break free from Su Yi's grasp, only to find that the woman who had been holding Su Yi just a moment ago was now lying on the ground, staring at Su Yi with astonished eyes.
But when the woman saw Su Yi holding Mu Jin's hand, she momentarily forgot how Su Yi had just rudely pushed her to the ground. Instead, she stood up abruptly, pointed at Mu Jin, and questioned Su Yi.
"Brother Yi, who is she?"
Su Yi ignored her and instead said to the butler, "Uncle Kun, how have you managed this household? You let just anyone in. If this happens again, you're done being the butler. Go home and enjoy your retirement."
Upon hearing this, the old steward immediately walked up to the woman, looking troubled, and said, "Princess Yue Rou, please come outside with this old servant."
The woman choked with sobs and said, "I won't leave. Tell me, who is this woman, why is she in the Princess's residence, and why is Brother Yi holding this woman's hand?"
Su Yi found the woman in front of him extremely noisy. He put his arm around Mu Jin's shoulder and looked at the woman with disdain.
"Originally, I didn't need to explain to you, but since you're so eager to know, I'll tell you."
Su Yi pointed at Mu Jin and the woman and said, "Her name is Mu Jin, she is my woman. You should be more polite to her in the future."
"Furthermore, I warned you long ago to stay away from me. I'm letting this go this time for Princess Wenhui's sake, but if you lay a hand on me again and my woman misunderstands me, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Mu Jin rolled her eyes inwardly as she heard Su Yi repeatedly refer to her as "my woman." She brushed Su Yi's hand off her shoulder and looked at him.
Although she didn't reprimand Su Yi in front of the woman, her eyes were full of warning.
Upon hearing this, the woman immediately cried and tried to grab Hua Mujin's face.
"Brother Yi is mine, and no one can take him away from me. You vixen, get out of Bianliang!"
Before she could even get close to Mu Jin, Su Yi grabbed her hand and threw her out of the room.
"Uncle Kun!"
Su Yi looked at the old steward with a slightly cold expression once again.
The old steward immediately ordered his men to drag away the woman named Princess Yue Rou, but she continued to curse as she was being dragged away.
"You bunch of lackeys, let me go! Brother Yi is mine! I'm going to scratch that vixen's face!"
"Brother Yi, you can't do that to Yue'er!"
"You bunch of dog slaves, if you don't release this princess, I'll kill you all."
The woman's shouts gradually faded into the distance until they could no longer be heard. Only then did Su Yi continue to hold Mu Jin's hand and say...
"I'm telling you, you woman, your man was hugged by another woman, and you just ignored it and walked away?"
Mu Jin waved his hand away and said, "If I'm not leaving, am I supposed to stay and disturb your sweet moments?"
Su Yi was stunned, then laughed: "Why are you still jealous?"
Mu Jin scoffed and looked at Su Yi. Although she didn't say anything, it seemed as if she was saying, "If you keep talking nonsense, get the hell out of here."
Su Yi smiled and pulled Mu Jin back to sit at the tea table.
"Ah Jin, you've misplaced your affections. How could I and Lin Yuerou have any romantic feelings for each other?"
Mu Jin drank a cup of tea and raised an eyebrow. So the woman's name was Lin Yuerou.
"Lin Yuerou is the granddaughter of my maternal grandfather's elder sister, Princess Wenhui, and Princess Wenhui has always wanted my maternal grandfather to issue an imperial decree to bestow the title of Lin Yuerou upon me."
Mu Jin asked, "Why would a prince of the Eastern Yue Kingdom want to marry you?"
Su Yi said, "The royal family of the Southern Shu Kingdom has few descendants. By the time of my maternal grandfather, he only had my mother as his heir."
Mu Jin was taken aback. She had always known that the emperor of the Southern Shu Kingdom only had one daughter with his first wife, but she never expected that the emperor of the Southern Shu Kingdom really only had one daughter.
“My maternal grandfather was an extremely devoted man. He once made a solemn vow to my maternal grandmother, promising that he would only love her for the rest of his life and that there would be no other woman in his life.”
"However, fate always likes to play tricks on people. When my maternal grandmother gave birth to my mother, she unfortunately suffered a difficult childbirth and eventually passed away."
"This sudden blow plunged my grandfather into great grief, but as the ruler of a country, he had to be strong and continue to shoulder the heavy responsibility of governing the country."
"In order to stabilize the court and balance the power of all parties, my grandfather had no choice but to marry several women from noble families into the palace."
"Nevertheless, he could never forget his grandmother. Therefore, even though these women entered the palace, he never had any more children with them."
Mu Jin put down her teacup and sneered, "An emperor with no successor, it seems that the seemingly prosperous Southern Shu Kingdom is not as stable as it appears."
When Su Yi heard Mu Jin say this, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
"Indeed, there has been some undercurrent among the various powerful families in the Southern Shu Kingdom recently, which is why my grandfather urgently summoned me back to the Southern Shu Kingdom."
Mu Jin was taken aback when she heard this: "Your grandfather intends for you to take over his position?"
Su Yi reached out and pinched Mu Jin's cheek: "My woman is so smart."
Mu Jin rolled her eyes at Su Yi and brushed his hand away.
"Get to the point, stop touching me like that."
Su Yi chuckled softly and continued speaking to Mu Jin.
“I have no interest in the throne. That position restricts my life too much. But as the years go by, my grandfather is getting older. Sometimes I realize that it is not easy for him to support the entire Southern Shu Kingdom all by himself.”
"So in the past few years, I have mostly stayed in the Southern Shu Kingdom to help my grandfather handle political affairs. Some of these powerful families saw something was wrong with me and began to keep a close watch on me, while others tried to win me over."
Mu Jin sneered: "Lin Yueru is hugging you so tightly, is the person behind her trying to win you over?"
Su Yi sneered, "That's not true. She's just an ordinary pawn in their family. She has two older brothers. That old hag Wen Hui has always wanted to support her grandson to take the throne."
"The injury I sustained when we first met was their family's doing."
Mu Jin was somewhat surprised, unaware that her first meeting with Su Yi was thanks to Lin Yueru's family.
"However, if the Lin family hadn't wanted me dead back then, I wouldn't have met you. For that reason, if they behave themselves in the future, I can let bygones be bygones and spare their lives."
Mu Jin scoffed, "Do you think that's possible?"
“Absolutely impossible, so they can only die!” Su Yi’s face turned cold.
"Alright, you get some rest. I'll go to the palace to see Grandpa first. If you need anything, ask Uncle Kun. He's a trustworthy person."
After giving his instructions, Su Yi left the princess's residence and headed towards the palace.
