Chapter 22 Jade Hairpin

Qing'er immediately suggested to Mu Jin that they go to Jinxiufang to buy some ready-made clothes. The reason for this suggestion was that Mu Jin's taste and hobbies had changed a lot recently.

All of Qingwanyuan's clothes definitely need to be replaced. If someone comes to take her measurements and sew them, it will probably take some time.

Each piece of clothing from Jinxiufang is unique in the entire capital, so there's no fear of wearing the same outfit as someone else. They can simply send it back to the General's Mansion and have Mu Yan pay for it.

Mu Jin nodded in agreement.

The master and servant entered the Brocade Shop and, according to Mu Jin's preferences, selected several outfits, paid a deposit, and had the shopkeeper deliver them back to the General's Mansion.

The two then went to Yan Ruoxue to buy some rouge and face powder. Although Mu Jin doesn't usually wear makeup, Qing'er said that Mu Jin, as a socialite in the capital, would often need to attend important occasions in the future, so she would still need to wear makeup.

Mu Jin thought that made sense, so she let Qing'er choose two sets, one for herself and one for Qing'er.

Mu Jin was curious about everything in this ancient market. The two of them, master and servant, ate snacks as they walked and strolled around, and finally went to Shuyu Tower, which Qing'er had mentioned, where they needed to verify their credentials.

Mu Jin didn't actually want to buy any jewelry, because Mu Yan had just given her a box of it that morning. She was just curious about the differences between high-end shops in ancient times and the Ma and Donkey families in modern times.

Shuyulou is the largest antique and jewelry shop on Zhenpin Street. Because it requires verification of funds, only the wealthy and powerful can enter to buy things.

Upon arriving at the entrance of Shuyulou, the shopfront was spacious and bright, with a huge wooden sign hanging at the door bearing the shop's name, "Shuyulou".

Qing'er took out a thousand taels of silver notes and handed them to the doorman. The doorman took the notes, registered them, and gave them back to Qing'er so that they could get their silver back when they left.

After receiving the receipt, the master and servant entered the building. Upon entering, they were greeted by a two-meter-tall jade Guanyin statue, exquisitely carved, lifelike, and full of expression.

A faint scent of sandalwood wafts through the shop, making one feel as if they have entered a mysterious and luxurious world. The shop is decorated with exquisite sandalwood carvings and gorgeous golden silk curtains adorned with crystal beads.

In this shop, in addition to common gold and silver jewelry, you can see bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair ornaments, crowns and other items made of various rare gemstones such as jade, rubies, sapphires and corals.

Each piece of jewelry is meticulously crafted and quite valuable, but their beauty and worth make every customer feel that they are getting their money's worth.

In summary, "Shuyulou" is a world full of mystery and luxury, where the jewelry is captivating.

Mu Jin has seen many high-end jewelry pieces in the modern world, but every piece from Shuyulou is no less exquisite than the works of various high-end jewelry masters in the modern world.

Mu Jin was a little tired after walking around and sat down in a jade section. Seeing that Qing'er was enjoying herself, she didn't disturb her and casually asked the shop assistant to take out a jade hairpin from the counter to look at.

The jade hairpin is clear and lustrous, with a magnolia flower carved on it, making it both simple and gorgeous.

Suddenly, the jade hairpin in Mu Jin's hand was snatched away: "Cousin, I like this. What do you think?"

Mu Jin looked up and saw a pretty young lady from a wealthy family. The woman was taking a jade hairpin from Mu Jin's hand and asking a man next to her for his opinion.

Mu Jin looked at the man, whose features were deep and handsome, and whose calm face was staring intently at her.

The woman in front of him noticed the man staring at Mu Jin, and turned to look at Mu Jin with some confusion. Suddenly, the woman was stunned.

The woman quickly bowed to Mu Jin and said, "Qianqian greets the Princess."

Before Mu Jin could react, the woman immediately turned to the man and said, "Cousin, when did the Princess return to the capital? Why didn't you tell me?"

Su Yuntian looked displeased and said, "You'll have to ask her when she returned to the capital."

At this moment, Qing'er, who was in the distance, saw Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian suddenly appear in front of Mu Jin. She thought something was wrong and quickly walked to Mu Jin's side, bowing to Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian.

Then he quickly leaned close to Mu Jin's ear and whispered, "This is Prince Yun, your husband, and his cousin, the one who framed you by pushing her into the water."

Mu Jin raised an eyebrow, thinking to herself, "What a small world."

Mu Jin stood up, slowly walked towards Shen Qianqian, and took the jade hairpin from her hand.

"Does my cousin like this jade hairpin? What a pity. I was planning to buy it as a reward for Qing'er. If you like it, then ask Qing'er if she can give it to you."

Upon hearing Mu Jin's words, Qing'er immediately understood and said, "If Miss Qianqian likes it, I will give this jade hairpin to you. Anyway, my young lady will buy me even better ones."

Shen Qianqian's face immediately turned pale, and she bit her lower lip tightly.

Upon seeing this, Su Yuntian immediately pulled Shen Qianqian into his arms and said, "Enough! A year has passed, when will you learn to restrain your sharp and sarcastic manner? Now that you're back in the capital, why don't you go back to the Prince's Mansion?"

Mu Jin couldn't help but sneer: "Am I usually so sharp-tongued and mean?"

Su Yuntian looked at Mu Jin's face. More than a year had passed since they last met, and Mu Jin seemed to be different from before. Her eyes were like water, but with a faint coldness. She did not wear any makeup, and her skin was still as clear and smooth as jade. Her appearance was cold and beautiful.

Leaving him didn't seem to wither her; on the contrary, she became even more dazzling. The way she looked at him was no longer as infatuated as before; now, she looked at him as coldly as if he were a stranger.

Su Yuntian frowned, his expression turning slightly cold, and said, "Now that we've returned to the capital, I will no longer pursue the matter from before. On the fifteenth of this month, I will marry Qianqian as my concubine. The palace is very busy right now, so please return as soon as possible to prepare for the wedding and fulfill your duties as a princess consort!"

Mu Jin smiled and said, "It's just taking a concubine. The steward can handle it. I haven't seen my father, the great general, for a long time. It's our duty as children to serve our elders."
