Hearing the guests' whispers, Su Yuntian's face turned cold and restrained. He ignored Mu Jin and then said to the matchmaker, "We can begin."
Upon hearing this, Mu Jin couldn't help but smile and said, "Wait! Your Highness has probably forgotten that the Prince's Mansion is only taking a concubine today. You should sit in the main seat and wait for the concubine to finish her ceremony so that the ceremony can be completed."
Su Yuntian, holding Shen Qianqian's hand, glared at Mu Jin warningly, then shouted to the matchmaker again, "Begin the wedding ceremony!"
Seeing that Su Yuntian's tolerance had reached its limit, and that Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian were essentially paying homage to him when they bowed to their parents, she couldn't help but feel overjoyed. So she didn't bother to waste any more words on them.
The matchmaker, having received instructions, dared not delay any longer. With a shout, she began to chant in accordance with the wedding ceremony procedures for the newlyweds.
When it came time for the tea ceremony, the matchmaker brought over a cup of hot tea and handed it to Shen Qianqian. Shen Qianqian first offered it to Shen Rong and said softly, "Aunt, please have some tea."
Shen Rong smiled and narrowed her eyes: "I've drunk your tea, so you'd better change how you address me."
As she spoke, Shen Rong took a sip of the tea that Shen Qianqian handed her and gave Shen Qianqian a red envelope.
Shen Qianqian said shyly, "Thank you, Mother."
Shen Rong then took out a jade bracelet and said, "This was given to me by the Empress Dowager. Now I'm passing it on to you. You can give it to my granddaughter-in-law and pass it down from generation to generation."
The guests lowered their heads in an uproar. Consort De had given the bracelet bestowed by the Empress Dowager to Prince Yun's concubine. This was undoubtedly a declaration to the world that she only recognized the concubine as her daughter-in-law, and it was also a blatant slap in the face to Mu Jin.
Hearing the guests' comments, Shen Rong glanced at Mu Jin with a mocking smile.
Mu Jin paid no attention to the guests' discussions or Shen Rong's veiled criticisms.
Shen Qianqian also gave Mu Jin a provocative look, and happily put the jade bracelet that Shen Rong had given her on her wrist.
Then the matchmaker handed Shen Qianqian another cup of tea, which was for Jing Mujin.
Mu Jin reached out to take it; she was thirsty from walking all the way and wanted a cup of tea.
However, just as Shen Qianqian handed the tea to Mu Jin, a soft cry suddenly rang out, and the scalding hot tea spilled out in an instant, scalding Mu Jin's hand and wetting Shen Qianqian's wedding dress.
Su Yuntian quickly pulled Shen Qianqian up and asked anxiously, "Are you alright? Did you get burned?"
Shen Qianqian shook her head and sobbed softly, "It was my fault, it has nothing to do with the Princess."
Su Yuntian immediately stared at Mu Jin with a cold, murderous gaze.
Shen Rong, standing nervously beside her, grasped Shen Qianqian's hand and said, word by word, "Mu Jin, don't go too far."
That cold gaze clearly conveyed to the guests that this was all Mu Jin's fault.
Mu Jin cursed inwardly, "Damn it, so the scenes on TV are real. Concubines really do wrong the wife when serving tea."
Although Mu Jin cursed inwardly, she didn't show it on her face and still looked at Shen Qianqian, who had her head down, with a smile.
"I'm sorry, my hand wasn't steady. I apologize."
Then he turned to the matchmaker and said, "Bring another cup of tea."
The matchmaker hurriedly took a cup of tea from the maid beside her and handed it to Shen Qianqian.
Qing'er lowered her reddened eyes, bit her lip, and twisted her sleeves with both hands, hiding all her resentment in her eyes.
After the tea ceremony, Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian were led to their bridal chamber. Before leaving, Su Yuntian turned to Mu Jin and said, "I will settle this score with you later."
Mu Jin smiled and said, "Okay."
After drinking the tea meant for his wife, Shen Rong scolded Mu Jin a few more times before leaving the Yun Prince's Mansion and returning to the palace.
Seeing that everyone who was angry had left, Mu Jin didn't linger any longer and led Qing'er out of the wedding hall.
"Where did I live before? Take me there."
Qing'er tenderly picked up Mu Jin's scalded hand and blew on it, saying, "Miss, we stayed at Cuizhu Courtyard before. Let's go back quickly. I'll apply some ice to it for you. Be careful not to leave a scar."
Mu Jin frowned as she looked at the back of her hand, which was red from the soup.
Qing'er frowned at Mu Jin, indignantly saying, "Miss, it was clearly Shen Qianqian who deliberately knocked over the teacup! Why don't you say so?"
Mu Jin looked at her hand, which was red from the burn, and said with a half-smile, "What difference does it make whether you tell me or not? Take me to the Green Bamboo Courtyard."
One of the guests stared at the departing white-clad figure and followed her out of the wedding hall.
As Mu Jin and Qing'er passed a rockery next to the garden, a man blocked their way.
Mu Jin looked up and saw a handsome man's smiling face appear before her.
However, once she saw the face clearly, she immediately recognized who it was, and her anger flared up.
How could she not remember this guy? He was the conman she had been forced to save deep in the mountains. The man had completely fooled her in order to get her to save him.
Thinking of this, Mu Jin shouted, "You damned liar! Prepare to die!" and immediately stepped forward to attack the man.
The man seemed to have anticipated Mu Jin's actions and immediately dodged away.
Enraged, Mu Jin continued her attack, throwing a punch and then sweeping her foot at the man's lower body, but the man easily dodged it.
The man dodged while begging for mercy, saying, "Sister-in-law, please don't hit me. I didn't know you were my sister-in-law back then. If I had known, I wouldn't have resorted to such a desperate measure, hurting you and then using hawthorn sugar pills to trick you into saving me."
Mu Jin was even angrier when she heard this. She grabbed a tree branch from beside her and immediately swung it at Su Yi: "Who is your sister-in-law? How dare you play tricks on me? You'd better die!"
The branch didn't hit the man; he snatched it away and tossed it lightly ten meters away.
"Sister-in-law, let me explain. Today is a joyous occasion for your family, so please calm down."
Mu Jin didn't listen to what the man was saying at all. Seeing that the man seemed to slow down, she immediately clenched her fist and punched him in the chest.
That punch must have been delivered with all his might, in a fit of extreme anger, as it sent the man staggering back two steps.
After hitting the man, Mu Jin was in a great mood and wanted to continue fighting, but the man grabbed her fist and spun her around, holding her firmly in his arms.
"Alright, alright, I've already given you a call. You should be simmering with anger now, right?"
Seeing Mu Jin being held hostage, Qing'er angrily said, "You audacious madman! This is the Yun Prince's Mansion! Release the Yun Princess immediately, or I will call my men to tear you to pieces."
She then stepped forward to try and pull the man away.
The man smiled and said to Qing'er, "Don't shout. I won't hurt your master. But if you come any closer, I can't guarantee that I won't accidentally hurt your master."
Qing'er was so frightened by the man's words that she dared not step forward.
Seeing the little maidservant frozen in fear, the man chuckled and said, "Sister-in-law, I didn't expect your little maidservant to be so protective of her mistress."
Hearing the man repeatedly mention his sister-in-law, Mu Jin frowned and asked, "Who exactly are you?!"
