Mu Jin was jolted back to reality by Su Yi's shout, and she quickly urged her warhorse to gallop forward.
But the soldiers around her were all fleeing for their lives, completely losing their composure.
This scene startled the warhorse beneath Mu Jin, causing it to frantically stamp its hooves in place, afraid of trampling the soldiers running around, but it didn't move forward an inch.
Seeing this, Su Yi quickly urged Ying Long to walk towards Mu Jin. When Su Yi reached Mu Jin's side, he took the reins of Mu Jin's warhorse with one hand, and the two horses walked one in front of the other.
The two were quite restricted in their movement on horseback, so Su Yi and Mu Jin dismounted together. Su Yi then took Mu Jin's hand and ran forward with the soldiers.
With another loud crash, Su Yi and Mu Jin turned around and saw the mountain collapsing and crumbling, with mud, rocks, and trees rolling down, threatening to engulf everything in the valley.
Seeing this, Su Yi grabbed Mu Jin's hand and used his lightness skill to leap up and fly forward. However, wherever they passed, they could only watch helplessly as the soldiers who fell behind were crushed to death by mud and rocks and then completely buried underground.
The scene before her eyes terrified Mu Jin, leaving her mind blank. These were things she had only ever seen on television, yet now they were happening right in front of her. How could she not be afraid?
After the landslide, half of the soldiers were buried under the mud and rocks, leaving nothing behind. If Mu Jin hadn't just hysterically shouted for everyone to run, probably none of them would have survived.
The valleys on both sides continued to collapse, with mud and rocks rolling down. Before long, half of the valley floor was covered by mud and rocks.
Seeing that the collapse of the valley showed no signs of stopping, Su Yi, pulling Mu Jin along, didn't know where to escape, as everything around them was crumbling. Su Yi could only use the rolling rocks for footholds, constantly changing positions.
The air was thick with the smell of dust, which mingled with the dust and splattered all over the people present, leaving them covered in mud.
Mu Jin was soaked to the bone, and the early winter rain made her feel numb.
At this moment, Su Yi's breathing was also somewhat unstable.
When Mu Jin came to her senses, she found that apart from her whole body being stiff and numb, all that was left was Su Yi's hand, which was gripping her tightly and painfully.
Mu Jin turned to look at Su Yi, only to see that Su Yi's forehead was covered with water droplets. She didn't know if it was rain or sweat, but she knew that Su Yi, who was frowning at the moment, was trying his best to get her out of the current crisis.
Su Yi was always like this; when she was in danger, he would always instinctively protect her and keep her safe.
Thinking of this, Mu Jin suddenly had a thought. Su Yi was so skilled and had such superb lightness skills. If he were alone right now, without her dragging him down, he would definitely be able to escape the landslide safely.
Mu Jin moved her hand, which was being gripped and was aching. Su Yi stopped on a large rock, turned to look at Mu Jin with concern.
"Did I hurt your hand?" he asked, seemingly apologetic. "I'm sorry, just bear with it a little longer. I'll have the medic treat you once we get out of here."
Mu Jin knew she was always heartless, but for some reason, she felt compassion for Su Yi at this moment. Whether in the real world or this world, she always put her own interests first.
Now, she hopes Su Yi will let go of her and allow him to live on his own, something that would have been absolutely impossible before. After all, she has always learned how to live better on her own since she was a child.
Mu Jin lowered her eyes, looking at their tightly clasped index fingers, both of which were red from the cold. She forced a smile and said, "It's hard for me to run away if you hold my hand like this."
She looked at the hops beside her; their vines were even stronger than hemp rope. She used her sword to cut off a hop vine and handed it to Su Yi.
“If we each hold one end, it will be easier for us to escape from here, and it won’t hurt my hands.”
Su Yi's voice was breathless and hoarse as he said, "No, what if you lose your grip and get away?"
“I won’t,” Mu Jin said firmly, looking at Su Yi. “I will hold on tight and never let go.” Mu Jin smiled again, “I promised you that I would marry you after this battle. How could I let go?”
Su Yi was startled. He felt that Mu Jin's words to him at this moment were very inappropriate, as if she wanted to trap him. But he couldn't figure out why she wanted to trap him. He just felt a sense of unease for no reason.
Su Yi switched Mu Jin's hand and held on tighter, saying, "Then I must hold on to you even tighter. If I lose you, where will I find such a wonderful woman to be my queen?"
Mu Jin broke free from Su Yi's hand. She was panting heavily, her throat was dry and uncomfortable, and the cold rain fell into the corner of her eye, making her eyes red.
She pretended to be angry and said, "But it's uncomfortable for you to hold my hand like this!" She handed one end of the hop vine to Su Yi again and said, "Take it. My lightness skill has improved recently, and I will definitely be able to keep up with you."
Su Yi still didn't answer. Mu Jin, seeing another landslide about to sweep in, said anxiously with red eyes, "Are you going to answer or not? If not, I'll leave by myself."
Su Yi didn't know why Mu Jin insisted on doing this, but with the mountain collapsing at this moment, he didn't have time to think. He took the vine from Mu Jin's hand, wrapped it around Mu Jin's wrist a few times, and told Mu Jin to hold it tightly again.
Just as the mudslide came crashing down, Su Yi quickly gathered his energy, leaped into the air, and with a sudden swing of his arm, pulled Mu Jin forward along the vines.
Mu Jin watched Su Yi's retreating figure, a bitter smile on her face. Su Yi wasn't holding her hand and was indeed running very fast ahead. Just as she thought, without her, Su Yi would definitely be able to escape.
The two ran a few meters apart. Su Yi would look back from time to time, and only when he saw that Mu Jin was following closely behind him could he slowly relax and concentrate on running forward.
