Hearing Su Yi say this, Mu Jin cried even more uncontrollably. When she thought about how Su Yi told her to take care of herself, but he used all his inner strength to send her away in order to save her, she realized that she had made up her mind to give up herself and fulfill her wishes.
Mu Jin cried, "Su Yi, do you know how scared I was when I woke up and found you gone? I'm not afraid of death, nor am I afraid of losing a battle, but I'm terrified of having to trade your life for mine. You just left like that, and I didn't even have a chance to refuse..."
"But you can't fool me first."
Mu Jin shook her head repeatedly: "No, I didn't lie to you, I just..."
"What are you?" Su Yi asked. "You said we were each running along holding onto a hop vine."
Su Yi paused for a moment, seemingly still a little scared, and continued, "Back then, you felt like you were a burden to me, and wanted me to escape so you could die in this landslide, didn't you?"
Su Yi continued, "We agreed that we would be together after this war ended. I thought we had a promise to each other, to live together and die together, but in the end you wanted to abandon me first."
“But you need to live more than I do. You have your people, and they need you too, they need you to save them from suffering.” Mu Jin seemed to hug Su Yi even tighter and said, “That’s why I want you to live.”
“Foolish woman,” Su Yi said softly, “What do other people have to do with me? I seized these powers and the throne only to better protect you.”
"Without you! I would rather be buried with you in this desolate earth than live alone."
