Chapter 26 Uncle and Sister-in-law

Su Yi smiled wickedly: "Guess~"

Mu Jin struggled, but her body, which was being held by the man, remained completely still.

The man laughed and said, "Want me to let you go? Then promise not to hit me again, and I'll let you go."

Mu Jin remained silent, and the man did not let go. Mu Jin felt that there was no point in continuing the stalemate, so she said, "Let go!"

The man said, "You haven't promised not to hit me yet."

Mu Jin gritted her teeth and said, "Fine! I promise I won't touch you now."

Hearing Mu Jin's assurance, the man slowly released her.

Mu Jin didn't want to waste words with him: "Speak! Who exactly are you?"

The man said, “Sister-in-law, you can call me Fifth Brother or Su Yi. I wasn’t in the capital when you married Third Brother, so it’s normal that we don’t know each other.”

Mu Jin watched as Su Yi touched his nose, looking like a cunning fox, and he did indeed resemble Su Yuntian in some way.

So he frowned and thought, "This fellow is actually a prince. It seems I can't kill him."

Su Yi seemed to understand Mu Jin's thoughts and sighed, seemingly genuinely, "Sister-in-law, you look so beautiful today, you even outshine the bride. Fighting and killing like this isn't pretty at all."

Mu Jin glanced at Su Yi. This man seemed unreliable, but his kung fu was quite impressive. This garden was never so quiet on weekdays; he must have been sent away to cause trouble for her.

Thinking of this, Mu Jin didn't want to waste any more words with him and turned to leave.

Seeing that Mu Jin was about to leave, Su Yi quickly blocked her way.

"Sister-in-law, wait a minute. I just saw that you were scalded by the tea. I only came to bring you some ointment. You really don't appreciate my kindness."

Then, he glanced at Mu Jin's hand again and said, "Look at you, you just hit me and now your hand is all scraped. It's not worth it."

Mu Jin sneered, "I wouldn't dare take it. Who knows if it's poisoned?"

"Sister-in-law, don't think so badly of people. This ointment is a secret imperial medicine. As long as you apply it to the injured skin, it will not only not leave a scar, but the skin will also be as delicate as a baby's. Are you sure you don't want it?"

Mu Jin ignored him and continued to walk quickly past Su Yi.

Qing'er was worried that Mu Jin would be scarred, so she quickly stepped forward and said to Su Yi, "Thank you, King Yi."

After Qing'er finished speaking, she quickly took the plaster from Su Yi's hand and caught up with Mu Jin back to Cuizhu Courtyard.

Watching Mu Jin's departing figure, Su Yi suppressed his lazy and unrestrained smile, turned around, and left the garden of the Yun Prince's Mansion.

Mu Jin entered the Green Bamboo Courtyard and realized that the courtyard was quite far from the front hall. Moreover, the reason for its rustic name was that a circle of bamboo was planted around the courtyard. It was cool in the summer, but in the winter, it must be very cold and damp.

As soon as they entered the courtyard, the two women saw a matron and several maids approach Mu Jin and bow, saying, "Greetings, Your Highness."

Qing'er looked at these people and found them all unfamiliar, so she asked, "Where are the maids who used to work here?"

The old woman and several maids shook their heads, saying they didn't know; they had only been called to work at Cuizhu Courtyard a few days ago.

Mu Jin instructed the group, "Summon the steward of the Prince's mansion."

Before long, Mu Jin saw Guangfu slowly walk into the Green Bamboo Courtyard, bow to her, and say, "This old servant greets Your Highness."

Mu Jin looked at the old butler in front of her. The original owner's memories included a butler who had humiliated her.

Mu Jin glanced at Guangfu and sneered, saying, "Steward, you didn't expect I'd still be alive when I returned to the Prince's Mansion, did you?"

Guangfu said expressionlessly, "Your Highness, what are you saying? Your Highness is a lucky person, and this old servant has been looking forward to your return to the palace for days."

Guangfu manages all the affairs of the Yunwang Mansion, big and small. He has been used to being arrogant and domineering for many years. Moreover, now that Shen Qianqian has become a concubine, and he is favored by Consort De and Shen Qianqian, he has never really taken Mu Jin seriously.

Mu Jin didn't waste any more words. She knew that Guangfu's position in the Prince's Mansion was deeply rooted and not easy to shake.

"Where are the maids and servants from my previous courtyard?"

Guangfu smiled and said, "They're all here. Some are in the kitchen, and some are in the stables. What does Your Highness need them for?"

"Who gave you the audacity to touch my people?"

Guangfu said, "This old servant would not dare to touch the Princess's people. It's just that since the Princess is not here, they are just sitting around doing nothing. So we have arranged tasks for them. After all, the Prince's mansion does not support idle people."

Mu Jin stared coldly at Guangfu and said, "Now that I'm back, I want them all to come back and serve me. Do you have any objections?"

Guangfu immediately said he dared not, then looked at Qing'er beside Mu Jin.

"If Qing'er hadn't run back to the General's Mansion on her own, this old servant would definitely have arranged a good job for her."

Mu Jin laughed and said, "Then I really have to thank the housekeeper for his thoughtfulness."

Guangfu replied neither humbly nor arrogantly, "This old servant dares not; it is all my duty."

Mu Jin stared at Guangfu, narrowed her eyes, and said, "Everyone in this courtyard should go back to where they came from. Invite all the people from my previous courtyard back to my courtyard, and set up a banquet in my courtyard."

Guangfu nodded in agreement, and just as he turned to leave, he heard Mu Jin continue.

"Wait! I'm warning you! My men were all brought from the General's Mansion and haven't been sold to the Prince Yun's Mansion yet, so they're all people you can't touch. Do you understand?"

Guangfu turned around, nodded, and said, "I dare not!" Then he turned and left Cuizhu Courtyard with the existing servants.

Guangfu walked to the outside of Cuizhu Courtyard and ordered people to bring a table of wine and food, as well as to call back the maids who had served Mu Jin before and whom he had dismissed.

After giving all the instructions, he lowered his head and pondered for a while, feeling that Mu Jin was very different from before.

In the past, Mu Jin would fawn over Su Yuntian in order to win his love, a stark contrast to her current treacherous attitude.

Mu Jin's return didn't seem to affect him much, but he had a feeling that Mu Jin wouldn't let him off easy in the future.

Guangfu was a clever man; making things difficult for him meant making things difficult for Shen Qianqian as well. He hated that if it weren't for Mu Jin, Shen Qianqian would have been the Princess Consort of Yun long ago.

For Shen Qianqian's sake, he became even more determined to get rid of Mu Jin.

Before long, the servants brought a table of food and wine into the Green Bamboo Garden, and the maids who had been sent away earlier all returned.

The maids were overjoyed to see Mu Jin and Qing'er and wept with joy. They had endured an extremely difficult year. Even the lowest-ranking servants in the Prince's mansion, who emptied chamber pots, looked down on them. They did the hardest and dirtiest work, and it was common for them to lack food and clothing. Now that they could return to work at Cuizhu Courtyard, the maids hugged each other and wept with joy.

The maids kowtowed and bowed to Mu Jin while crying, but Mu Jin told them to get up and stop crying.

At this moment, a feast had been set out on the stone table in the courtyard. Mu Jin asked everyone to sit down and eat, but the maids felt it was against the rules and dared not sit down.

"Please sit down. I know you've all had a hard time while I was away for over a year. Please don't treat me like a princess today. Just sit down and eat."

Qing'er also invited everyone to sit down, and the maids sat down after seeing that Qing'er had sat down.
