Chapter 37 The Princess



Mu Jin saw Su Yi's little tricks and couldn't help but shake her head, amused by the cat-and-mouse game between the siblings.

Su Yi added some tea to Mu Jin's teacup and poured himself a cup.

"Why is my sister-in-law in such high spirits to come to Zuiyue Tower to watch the opera today?"

Mu Jin said, "It's just something new to see."

Su Yi nodded: "Why didn't Third Brother come with you?"

Mu Jin found Su Yi's chatter annoying and didn't answer him. Instead, she continued watching the geishas' performance downstairs.

Seeing that Mu Jin did not answer, Su Yi continued, "If you like these, I know a few other places. The dancers there are even better than those here. If you are interested, I will invite you to go another day."

Mu Jin raised an eyebrow, neither confirming nor denying.

"Sister-in-law, have you heard? The Xiliang Kingdom's Lai Shi is coming to our country soon. Guess what they're coming for?"

Mu Jin shook her head and said, "I don't know."

Seeing that Mu Jin had finally responded to him, Su Yi was overjoyed.

"Great news! The Western Liang Kingdom has sent an envoy to the Eastern Yue Kingdom to ask for the hand in marriage with our sixth princess, Su Muxue."

Just as Su Muxue was about to speak and stand up, her maidservant grabbed her and covered her mouth with her hand, shaking her head frantically to signal Su Muxue not to make a sound.

Mu Jin turned to Su Yi and smiled, "Oh? That's really a good thing."

When Mu Xue heard Mu Jin applaud this, she couldn't help but pinch Mu Jin's calf hard, and Mu Jin pulled her calf back a little.

Mu Jin asked, "The Fifth Princess should be of marriageable age, why is she still unmarried?"
