Chapter 54 Framing

Su Yi seemed somewhat annoyed that he had forgotten that Su Muxue had recently caught a cold.

"It's Fifth Brother's fault. Crabs are a cold food and they seem to clash with the medicine you're taking for a cold. You probably can't eat crabs tonight."

Upon hearing this, Su Muxue was somewhat displeased: "Fifth Brother went to so much trouble to peel the crabs for me, I can't let him down. It's fine to eat some."

Su Yi took the crab back from Su Muxue: "No, I can't joke around with my health. Besides, I don't like eating crabs anyway."

As he spoke, Su Yi thought about it with great distress, then looked at Mu Jin beside him and handed it over.

"How about you help me eat the crabs since I worked so hard peeling them, so as not to waste them?"

Mu Jin was taken aback at first, but without being coy, she naturally took the crab that Su Yi handed her, picked up her chopsticks, and started eating.

With just one bite, the sweet and savory flavor of crab meat filled Mu Jin's mouth. She narrowed her eyes and nodded with great satisfaction, saying, "Not bad, delicious!"

Su Muxue watched Mu Jin eating crabs with great envy: "Ah Jin, when my cough gets better, come to my palace. I'll have the imperial kitchen prepare a basket of crabs for us, and the palace servants will peel them for us. We can eat as many as we want, okay?"

Mu Jin nodded with a smile as she ate the crab.

"Very good, very good."

Su Muxue was also delighted to see the smile on Mu Jin's face and pointed to the crab meat in front of Mu Jin.

"Eat quickly, it won't taste good when it gets cold."

Su Yi, standing beside them, glanced at the two of them and couldn't help but smile.

At this moment, a palace maid stepped forward and filled the cups for the three of them. Suddenly, the palace maid who was pouring wine for Su Yi accidentally spilled the wine on Su Yi's sleeve. The palace maid then knelt down.

"King Yi, please forgive me, this servant did not mean it."

Su Yi had already noticed when the palace maid poured the wine. He simply turned his body slightly to the side, and the wine only spilled onto a few of his sleeves.

Su Yi smiled and didn't make things difficult for the clumsy palace maid.

"It's alright, please get up."

The palace maid looked at Su Yi's damp sleeves and said, "This servant will take His Highness Prince Yi to the side hall to change into clean clothes."

Su Yi refused the palace maid's suggestion.

"It only stained my sleeve a little, no need to bother, you may leave."

Su Yi expressed his reluctance, and the palace maid, not wanting to persuade him further, composed herself, stood up, and continued to refill Su Muxue and Mu Jin's wine cups.

Su Yi glanced unintentionally at the palace maid pouring wine for Su Muxue and Mu Jin, then turned back to continue enjoying the performance of the court musicians and dancers.

Before long, Mu Jin, having finished her wine, whispered a few words to Su Muxue beside her, and then had a palace maid lead her out of the Imperial Garden.

Seeing this, Shen Rong, who was sitting next to Su Mu, smiled undisguisedly. When she glanced at Su Yi looking at her, her smile paused, and she continued chatting casually with the concubines beside her as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, Mu Jin, who was cursing the palace food under her breath and suffering from severe stomach pain, was being led by a palace maid to a side hall dressing room not far from the main hall to use the toilet. When she finished and walked out of the room, the palace maid who had led her there was nowhere to be found.

Mu Jin walked to the door and pushed it with her hand, but found that the door could not be opened. She then knocked on the door and called out, but no one responded.

Mu Jin quickly realized something was wrong. Ever since she drank the wine that the palace maid poured for her, her stomach had been upset. It seemed that someone was trying to lure her here.

She didn't know exactly why she was lured here, but it certainly wasn't for anything good.

It's not hard to guess that the people in the palace who can't stand to see her doing well are either Shen Qianqian or Shen Rong and her son.

Thinking of this, Mu Jin calmed herself down and was about to continue pulling hard on the door when she suddenly heard someone unlocking it from outside.

Mu Jin immediately blew out the lamp on the table and twisted her body to hide by the door.

The man who entered was around 50 years old. As soon as he came in, he called out softly, "Little beauty, where are you? Come out quickly, I will definitely take good care of you."

Mu Jin felt disgusted upon hearing the man's frivolous words. She immediately walked slowly behind him, chopped him unconscious with a single chop, and kicked him several times.

"I love your mother!" Mu Jin shouted as she kicked him.

Suddenly, clapping and applause sounded from behind Mu Jin: "Sister-in-law is so amazing~"

Upon hearing the voice, Mu Jin knew that the person who had come was Su Yi.

Mu Jin stopped kicking the man, turned her head and glared at Su Yi: "Prince Yi, what refined taste you have! Why not enjoy such a fine palace banquet and instead arrange one just for yourself?"

Su Yi wasn't annoyed by what Mu Jin said to him: "Sister-in-law, don't wrong me. You know it wasn't me. I came here to save you."

Mu Jin gave a cold laugh.

"Judging from your words, you knew about this all along, but you just watched me get caught in the trap?"

Su Yi quickly stepped forward to explain, "I just wanted to see how clever Shen Rong would be to deal with you and me. Besides, with me here, she can't cause any trouble."

When she heard Su Yi say that Shen Rong had framed not only her, but also Su Yi, she couldn't help but ask in confusion, "Framed you and me?"

Su Yi raised an eyebrow: "Yes, from the moment that palace maid tried to wet my clothes with wine and then drug you, I knew that the one who was to be harmed was not only me, but also you. We were both thorns in her side. It's just a pity that her method was so stupid. I'm worried about her intelligence."

Just as Mu Jin was about to say something, Su Yi's expression suddenly turned serious. He stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and quickly walked to the outer courtyard. With a light leap, he landed outside the wall of the side hall. At the same time, the door of the side hall was kicked open.

The person who kicked the door was Su Yuntian.

Su Yuntian was followed by Su Mu, Shen Rong, Shen Qianqian, and the eunuchs and maids who served them closely.

Upon hearing the voices of Su Mu, Shen Rong, and Su Yuntian, Mu Jin and Su Yi exchanged a glance and then quietly left without saying a word.

At this moment, Shen Rong rushed into a side room in the hall and saw a drunk man lying on the ground. There was no one else in the room. She felt a little panicked and then heard Su Mu ask her a question.

"You brought me here just to see this filthy thing?"

When Shen Rong didn't see Mu Jin in the room, she began to panic.

"That's impossible. Someone clearly saw Mu Jin and Yi'er pulling each other into this side hall, as if they had a dispute. I was just worried that there might be some misunderstanding between the uncle and sister-in-law. Concern can cloud judgment, so I thought that Your Majesty and Yun Tian might be able to mediate."

Su Mu snorted coldly: "Would you believe these words if you said them yourself?"

Seeing Su Mu get angry, Su Yuntian felt a tightness in his chest and stepped forward with a stiff upper lip.

"Father, please calm down. Perhaps the servants made a mistake and came to inform Mother. Mother is just worried and confused. Nothing has happened yet. Why don't we go back to the banquet? Maybe Fifth Brother and Ah Jin just happened to be missing together and have already returned to the palace banquet."

Su Mu looked at the mother and son with a dark face. He sneered, flicked his sleeves, and stormed out of the side hall, heading towards the palace banquet, leaving the three of them looking at each other in bewilderment.

Shen Rong glanced at Su Yuntian, whose complexion was no better than Su Mu's, and said, "I clearly made all the arrangements, how could something have gone wrong!"
