After returning from the palace that day, Mu Jin went back to the general's mansion and fell asleep as soon as she lay down. She was exhausted from being outside the city all month.
She hadn't left her room for several days. If it weren't for Mu Jin returning from the palace with a radiant face and numerous gifts, the servants in the General's Mansion would have assumed that something had happened to Mu Jin in the palace, that she was having a mental breakdown and hiding in her room, unable to face anyone.
"Qing'er~"
"Hey~~ Coming, coming, Miss, are you getting up?"
It was a bright and sunny day, the sunlight felt warm on people. Qing'er, who was pruning the flowers in the yard, heard Mu Jin calling her from her room and happily ran towards Mu Jin's room.
Mu Jin stretched in the room, lifted the curtain, and saw Qing'er come in. She said, "I'm hungry. Bring me some food."
Qing'er smiled as she helped Mu Jin up to wash and get ready, saying, "Of course you'll be hungry! Miss has been sleeping in a daze these past few days. If it weren't for me feeding you rice porridge every day, you'd probably be even hungrier."
Mu Jin smiled and said to Qing'er, "We went to the outskirts of the city and it was like going through hell on earth. It was a rare opportunity to successfully report to the court. Once a person relaxes, all they want to do is lie in bed and sleep forever, right?"
"Yes, yes, yes. Before, I begged you to take me out of the city, but you insisted that I stay here in the city. Maybe if I went there, I could take care of you and make things less tiring for you, Miss."
Mu Jin smiled as she watched Qing'er gently comb her hair.
“I’m going to the city for disaster relief. If you come with me, you’ll be taking care of the sick people too. What kind of image would it be if you brought a maid to serve you?”
Hearing Mu Jin say this, Qing'er thought about it and realized that it made sense.
"Did you send the letter of divorce I wrote when I returned from the palace that day to Prince Yun's residence and deliver it to Su Yuntian?"
Qing'er inserted a hairpin into Mu Jin's hair and said, "I was just about to tell you about this. On the eleventh, I sent a divorce agreement to Prince Yun, but he tore it up and said that he would never divorce Miss."
Mu Jin scoffed, "He has no choice but to agree."
Qing'er said with a grin, "I heard that Prince Yun has been weak since he returned from outside the city. He can only stand up and walk a few steps. If he were as energetic as before, I think he would have stormed up to the General's Mansion to find you, Miss."
Seeing that Qing'er had helped her with her hair and makeup, Mu Jin stood up. When she heard that Su Yuntian was so weak, she couldn't help but smile and say, "Today is such a nice day, a good day to divorce her husband and take back her dowry. After the meal, call the guards, get the carriage, and go with your young lady to the Yunwang Mansion."
Mu Jin thought for a moment and then added, "This is the last time."
"Alright, Miss, you go to the dining hall to have your meal first. I'll go down and have someone prepare the carriage right away."
After Qing'er finished speaking, she ran out of Qingwan Courtyard in a flash before Mu Jin could respond.
Seeing Qing'er, who was even more anxious than herself, Mu Jin raised an eyebrow and muttered with a smile, "When I said I wanted a divorce, wasn't this girl the most vehemently opposed?"
The general's carriage made its way from the general's mansion to the Yunwang Mansion in a grand procession. Along the way, many people followed the carriage, discussing the scene, creating quite a lively atmosphere.
Looking at the endless carriages following behind her, Mu Jin couldn't help but wonder, "Isn't this a bit exaggerated? Is my dowry really that much?"
Qing'er said with a proud look, "That's right. Back then, the general told the young master that he couldn't let the young lady be inferior to others in the Yunwang Mansion, so he took all of the madam's dowry and most of the general's family property and moved them into the Yunwang Mansion with the young lady."
When the general's carriage stopped at the gate of the Yun Prince's mansion, the guards at the gate could hardly believe their eyes when they saw Mu Jin get off the carriage. They hurriedly ran into the mansion to report.
Mu Jin didn't need anyone to greet her. She only took Eleven and Qing'er and walked into the gate of the Yun Prince's Mansion. The other guards and carriages stayed outside the Yun Prince's Mansion to wait.
Not long after Mu Jin and her two servants arrived at the main hall of the Yunwang Mansion, they saw Shen Qianqian helping Su Yuntian rushing toward them.
As Su Yuntian and Shen Qianqian approached, Shen Qianqian curtsied to Mu Jin and said, "Greetings, Your Highness."
Mu Jin smiled and said to Shen Qianqian, "Consort Shen, there's no need for such formalities."
Su Yuntian walked to Mu Jin's side and wanted to reach out to hold Mu Jin's hand, but Mu Jin turned away to avoid him.
"Are you still angry with me for what happened outside the city that day? I wanted to go back and apologize to you, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to get better."
Before Su Yuntian could finish speaking, Mu Jin took out a folded piece of white paper from her sleeve and handed it to Su Yuntian.
Su Yuntian didn't take it, his brows furrowing slightly as he asked, "What is this?"
Mu Jin glanced at him, then slowly opened the envelope, her slender fingers flipping through the white paper before handing it to Su Yuntian.
Upon seeing the above content, Su Yuntian's heart trembled, followed by a face full of anger.
Mu Jin raised an eyebrow and smiled, "The letter of divorce, have you read it clearly?"
The words "Letter of Divorce" were written in unusually large characters on the material. The content of the letter was very simple. Mu Jin read it out word by word: "From today onwards, I, Mu Jin, divorce the Third Prince Su Yuntian. From now on, we will part ways and each find our own happiness. February 5th, 20th year of the Eastern Yuan Dynasty, written by Mu Jin."
The princess divorced the prince, which was the first time since the founding of the Dongyue Kingdom.
The servants in the main hall all narrowed their eyes and secretly gasped when they heard the words "letter of divorce".
After Mu Jin finished reading, she slowly folded the letter of divorce and handed it to Su Yuntian: "Keep it safe, don't lose it."
