Chapter 63 Keeping the Appointment

Upon hearing that Shiyi had developed a high fever, Mu Jin remembered that Shiyi had been injured by Su Yuntian the night before. However, she had already given Shiyi medicine for his injuries, so he shouldn't have developed a fever and fallen asleep.

Mu Jin went back to her room and got two bottles of medicine, one for reducing fever and the other for stopping bleeding and removing bruises. She gave them to the maid and instructed the maid to have someone give them to Eleven. If Eleven was still not better, she should go outside and find a doctor to treat him.

After finishing their breakfast, Mu Jin and Qing'er walked out of the palace gate. Today, Eleven was feeling unwell, so the palace temporarily arranged for a different coachman for Mu Jin.

The coachman looked unfamiliar, but Mu Jin didn't mind. After all, there were hundreds of servants in the Prince's mansion, so it was normal for her not to recognize them. She raised an eyebrow and, with Qing'er's help, got into the carriage.

After Mu Jin got into the carriage, Qing'er lowered the thick curtain. The thick curtain blocked the cold wind from blowing in, but it made the carriage dark.

She thought to herself how wonderful it would be if her carriage had two such stones. However, she immediately shook her head at herself; those stones were clearly priceless, and she probably couldn't afford them in her lifetime.

Mu Jin held the hot water bottle Qing'er had prepared for her. The journey to Yuexiang Manor would take about an hour, so she leaned back against the soft cushions in the carriage and closed her eyes to rest.

After traveling for about half an hour, the carriage suddenly lurched violently, and Mu Jin and Qing'er, caught off guard, bumped their heads hard against the carriage wall.

The pain infuriated Qing'er, and she yelled at the coachman outside, "How can you drive this carriage like this? You've hurt the princess! Be careful, or I won't let you off the hook!"

As she spoke, Qing'er lifted the carriage curtain and stepped out. Once outside, Qing'er fell silent.

"Qing'er?" Mu Jin called out several times, but Qing'er did not respond.

Mu Jin's expression darkened. She put down the hot water bottle, casually lifted the carriage curtain, and prepared to get out.

But when Mu Jin lifted the carriage curtain, her movements froze as a gleaming knife was pressed against her neck.
