Chapter 148 Kiss

Having not slept well all night, Jing Weiyang woke up to find it was already broad daylight.

As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted by a gentle smiling face: "Good morning,"

She paused for a moment before speaking, "Good morning, brother."

"Breakfast is ready. I thought you wouldn't get up until noon."

As Jing Chenguang spoke, he took her hand and led her downstairs, his gentle and caring manner as if he were treating her like a child who hadn't grown up.

Breakfast was, as always, the kind of food Jing Weiyang liked.

After breakfast, Jing Chenguang took her outside for a walk to get some fresh air.

It snowed again last night, and the world was covered in white. Just looking at it made me feel happy.

Jing Weiyang pulled the warm scarf tighter around herself, a genuine smile spreading across her pretty face.

Jing Chenguang saw this and suddenly reached out to hug her. A muffled voice came from above her head:

"Xiao Yang, you're finally back by my side."

Jing Weiyang stiffened slightly and did not respond.

Jing Chenguang waited for a while, but did not receive a response from the girl. His dark pupils were once again covered by disappointment and despair. Where Jing Weiyang could not see, his face was particularly gloomy.

After wandering around outside for a while, Jing Weiyang was taken back by her brother.

Several times along the way, she wanted to bring up going home, but she was always defeated by her brother's hurt gaze and silently shut her mouth.

After they got back, her brother dragged her to watch TV. It was a popular historical drama that had recently become popular online. The male lead was a rising star who was good-looking and had good acting skills, so he was very popular with girls.

Jing Weiyang watched a bit of the show with Shen Yu when she was at home, but every time she watched less than half of it, he would pull her away to do something else.

So, even after all that, she still couldn't figure out which one was the female lead: the quirky junior sister or the arrogant young lady of the Tang Clan.

However, these kinds of TV dramas only air two episodes a day, and then it gets boring again.

So Jing Weiyang was dragged to play games by her brother again, which actually cheered her up a bit.

Although she's terrible at it, her brother is awesome!

So, under her brother's guidance, she won every time, and was in an exceptionally good mood.

However, this joy turned into helplessness after her brother "took away" her phone.

Looking at her brother who was constantly coaxing and indulging her, Jing Weiyang really wanted to say something:

She's not a little girl anymore; she really doesn't need anyone to accompany her.

But every time she saw her brother's enthusiastic expression, she couldn't bring herself to say what she wanted to say, and could only keep him company.

Before I knew it, the morning had passed.

My brother cooked lunch, but the maid who was there yesterday was nowhere to be seen today.

When it was time to eat, Jing Weiyang finally couldn't help but ask Jing Chenguang:

"Brother, you haven't gone to work all day. Is the company okay?"

Although she only overheard a few words yesterday, she could tell from her brother's tone that he held a high position in the company.

Jing Chenguang paused as he was picking up food for her: "You really want me to leave?"

"Of course not! How could that be? I'm so happy that my brother is with me!"

Jing Weiyang's smile was almost exaggeratedly bright, but in her heart she felt utterly disgusted with herself: How fake...

Jing Chenguang didn't dwell on the issue and pinched her cheek: "That's good."

Jing Weiyang: ...Sigh.

After lunch, Jing Chenguang went to his study to work, leaving his younger sister to play in the living room by herself.

Jing Weiyang was in no mood for that. She listlessly flipped through TV channels and unknowingly fell asleep.

She hadn't slept well last night because she was worried about Shen Yu, and this morning she had to deal with her brother all day. She was really... exhausted.

So when Jing Chenguang finished his work and came downstairs to look for her, he saw the girl half-asleep on the sofa with her eyes closed.

Sunlight fell on her snow-white, translucent skin, making her look beautiful as if in a dream.

He unconsciously slowed his steps as he approached her.

She must have been dreaming about something, because her red lips were slightly pouting, as if she were flirting and asking for a kiss.

As if tempted by something, Jing Chenguang knelt down on one knee in front of her, lowered his head and carefully kissed her.

"The life I dream of is one where you are by my side."

Jing Weiyang's brows furrowed as her sleep was disturbed, and she finally opened her eyes—

"Strange, there's nobody here."

She gently touched her lips, her expression somewhat blank; it felt as if someone had just kissed her.

But where Jing Weiyang couldn't see,

Jing Chenguang, suppressing his racing heartbeat, lay on the floor behind the sofa, his face and ears burning red.

He touched his lips, his strikingly bright eyes showing no trace of regret.
